History[]
Picoutatte has historically been the subject of several disputes with Vollachia. Following the conclusion of the Demi-Human War, while the newly married Wilhelm and Theresia, accompanied by Carol Remendis and Veltol Astrea, were on a honeymoon trip to Picoutatte, Stride Vollachia and Kurgan arrived in the city to encounter the Sword Saint. Stride visited the Suwen Company, left Yaktol Suwen petrified, and met face-to-face with Theresia and her father. Veltol offered to duel Stride, but the arrogant nobleman forced him to face Kurgan, resulting in his loss and a curse being placed upon him. The next day, Wilhelm faced Kurgan in a duel and was successful in defeating him, earning the right to obtain the curse tool that had cast a curse on Veltol and destroy it. With Garitch Fabless's healing magic, the effect of the curse on Veltol was only concentrated on one place, lessening the damage dealt to him in exchange for his right arm's mobility.
After kidnapping Theresia and cursing Carol several months later, Stride would once again visit Picoutatte, where he would be responsible for a series of events leading up to the Subjugation of the Blight Dragon. A magic circle which nullified the effects of Divine Protections and the Kingdom's covenant with Volcanica was placed around the city, the citizens of Picoutatte were placed under the control of Melinda with her Evil Eye, and Carol, who was cast with a curse that compelled her to obey Stride's will, was forced to slay civilians who had Divine Protections. By soaking a Dragon's fang with the blood of the Divine Protection holders, Stride summoned Valgren to the city. A subjugation force consisting of capable fighters, including the Zellgef Squadron, was sent to Picoutatte in hopes of ending the situation. In the end, the Twin Shura serving the Destruction Wish were killed, Stride and Melinda were eaten and torn to shreds by the maws of Valgren, and that very Dragon was obliterated by the Divine Dragon Volcanica, who had arrived at the city at the same time as Gionis Lugunica in accordance with the covenant.
During Arc 7, the Emilia Camp travelled to the Commercial City of Picoutatte to smuggle their way into Vollachia in their search for Natsuki Subaru and Rem. With a referral from Diadora Regundra, they acquired Musica as their guide to take them to the Empire through the Everlasting Darkness beyond Shamrock Valley.
