The Priscilla Camp (プリシラ陣営, Purishira Jin'ei) was a Royal Selection team that was led by the late Baroness Priscilla Barielle. The camp was disbanded after Priscilla's death following the Great Disaster.
Information[]
Priscilla stated that the heavens chose her way to royalty, thus she felt the most appropriate to assume the throne, since her exceptional luck and attention to the commoners had led her to gain great popularity, and affirmed that everyone would be safe with her whenever they decided to obey her. Priscilla said that she would reward the people who supported her and was always willing to comply with the requests of others.
During the events of the Great Disaster, Priscilla gave her life to defeat the enemy, and thus, with her death, she and her camp were the first to drop out of the Royal Selection.
History[]
Priscilla was initially discovered to be one of the Royal Selection Candidates by Leip Barielle, who took her on as her eighth husband in order to use her as a tool to achieve his dream of power. However, Priscilla proved to be much harder to manipulate than he thought and decided to make her into a puppet by using the abilities of a curse arts user he was acquainted with. He also planned to prepare a knight who would look good alongside Priscilla as a sort of public relations strategy to improve her standing among citizens. Around this time, Priscilla met a starving, impoverished, orphaned, and nameless boy from a farming village in her domain. Despite being on the brink of death, he caught her interest because they shared the same eye color. She decided to call him Schult and she took him back to her manor so he could become a butler.
One day, Leip organized a tournament to decide who Priscilla's knight would be. She quickly got bored with the fighting while viewing the tournament, causing her to ask Schult for his thoughts. Schult decided to recommend Al, as he believed that the man showed care for Priscilla, unlike the other combatants. Priscilla thought Al was entertaining enough and that his fighting style was interesting, and she consequently selected him as her “clown”. This infuriated Leip, as he had tried to fix the tournament so that a winner would be under his control. A few days later, Leip attempted to bring Al and Schult under his control, but he was refused when he revealed his intentions to make Priscilla into a puppet. Al clashed with Leip by using his ability, which resulted in the baron being incapacitated. In due time, Leip passed away before the commencement of the Royal Selection, leading Priscilla to take over as the governing lord of the Barielle Barony. Under her rule, the land, which was previously ravaged by severe poverty due to Leip's tyranny, quickly got back on its feet, and its people started to live much happier and better lives all as a result of Priscilla's leadership of the territory.
After the Royal Selection's commencement, a man named Array Denkuts came to the Barielle Manor in order to plead Priscilla to go to his home village, Coffleton, and eliminate the undead that had appeared there. Together with Al and Yae Tenzen, Priscilla went to Coffleton and discovered that the undead had some sort of parasite within them. The men of the town had all turned into undead who looked exactly as they did in life, while the women and children housed the parasites yet were still alive. Priscilla used the Yang Sword to remove the parasite from them, she gathered her private army, the Crimson Battlefront, to visit two other villages among the Tenrill River to eliminate any undead, and she brought Priscilla and Al with her to an unaffected village to investigate why there were no undead there. They visited a watermill and found that the manager there, Edda Rayfast, had become the leader of the undead, and she opened a trap door that led Al into a wastewater treatment plant.
On Priscilla's order, Yae retreated to search for Al. In the meantime, Priscilla conversed with Edda and discovered her plan to create a "paradise" for her "maker". When Yae found Al, he had cleared through waves of numerous undead and decided to save Priscilla from Edda. He went back to the watermill, successfully defeated Edda, and rescued Priscilla. With the undead's leader defeated, they returned to the Barielle Manor. However, at midnight, Yae made an attempt to visit Priscilla's room, as she was an assassin who made an attempt to kill her supposed mistress. She was stopped by Al, and after losing to him in a short-lived fight, she decided to “resign” due to “familial matters”.
A while after the undead incident, Priscilla encountered Heinkel at a bandit town near the Barony of Barielle. Heinkel had found himself in the bandit den, to try and recover an opaque silver cup which was rumored to cure any incurable diseases when drank from, causing him to believe it was capable of awakening his sleeping wife. He cut down all of the bandits in the den, before Priscilla restrained him. However, the cup turned out to be just a dud. After Priscilla correctly identified he had been there for the cup, she burned it in front of him. Just as she was about to leave, Heinkel gave her an offer. Heinkel offered that he could do something about the whelp who was Reinhard's mistress. Thus, he gave his backing to Priscilla and in return asked that if she were to become king, to let him get his hands on the blood of the Dragon, which was kept in the castle. He asked it because he needed a miracle to get Louanna to awake, which resulted in an alliance between them.
Later, Priscilla arrived in Priestella, interrupting the gathering of the other camps through Heinkel. Though her presence was unwanted, she ended up playing major part in the events that followed, as the Witch Cult began to rampage in the city. Though initially absent from the gathering of the Royal Candidates, Priscilla was proceeding through town with Liliana Masquerade in tow, searching for Schult while have the bard perform her music to calm the people who were under the effects of the Authority of Wrath.
During the final stages of the Battle for Priestella, she and Al played major roles in removing the Witch Cult from the city. Al remained behind to act as a defensive measure against anyone who came to attack their base while everyone was gone, resulting in his battle with the Sin Archbishop of Lust. Meanwhile, Priscilla took Liliana with her to fight off the Sin Archbishop of Wrath. Due to their efforts, Lust retreated while Wrath was defeated and arrested.
Upon returning to her domain, she was attacked by assassins sent by Chisha Gold who were promptly defeated. Realizing the assassins were somehow involved with her home country of Vollachia, after settling an issue with Al, they made their way into the country, where they assisted her brother in reclaiming his throne, with Al playing a heavy part in Chaosflame and herself taking part in the Battle for the Imperial Capital. However, with the start of the Great Disaster, Priscilla was temporarily captured by its orchestrator: the Witch, Sphinx. Despite this, she managed to escape and played a major role against the Witch’s final stand.
With the end of the Great Disaster, Priscilla spent a day in Garkla. However, with her life having been cut short, Priscilla faded away. As such, Priscilla Barielle was the first to drop out of the Royal Selection. Afterward, Heinkel vanished, and Al and Schult returned to the Kingdom with the Emilia Camp.
