The Crusch Camp (クルシュ陣営, Kurushu Jin'ei) is a Royal Selection team that is led by Duchess Crusch Karsten.

Crusch stated that the Kingdom of Lugunica is too dependent on the Divine Dragon Volcanica, and that everyone forgot to fight on their own as of right now. Because of this, she is willing to break the contract between Farsale Lugunica and the Divine Dragon, although she continues to recognize the contributions made by the Dragon over the years.
Crusch believes that the kingdom must learn to fight for itself, become independent, and plan to form a government well structured enough not to require the help of the Dragon again. On the other hand, she constantly moves the economy of the country with the purchase of iron products for the manufacture of arms and armor in order to strengthen the defenses of Lugunica and preserve security against potential threats, true to her word.
History[]
Shortly after the extinction of the Royal Family of Lugunica, Leip Barielle, the man responsible for the care of the country’s Dragon History Stone, revealed to all of the nobles present the means chosen by the stone to determine the country’s next ruler. When the Dragon Insignia reached Crusch, the Jewel embedded within shined brightly, displaying her right to vie for the right to rule the country. Having just seen the weakness of the nobility due to their reliance on the Dragon, her resolve to sever the contract with it strengthened dramatically. Armed with the dream once carried by the late Fourier Lugunica, she proceeded to knight her dear friend Ferris, and the two went on to become the first of the five camps vying for the throne.
Over the course of the following year, she maintained and increased the country’s economy, utilizing the iron products that were manufactured in the strengthening of the country’s military, stocking up on various armaments and armors. Similarly, the military is also being trained to a greater extent to ward off the potential threat of an attack or invasion. Close to the start of the Royal Selection, she even managed to recruit Wilhelm van Astrea into her camp with the promise of helping him slay the White Whale.
By the start of the Royal Selection, she had already cemented herself as the favorite candidate among the nobility and populace, already having a great reputation as both an extremely competent Duchess and a powerful soldier with the epithet of The Valkyrie. A few days after the start, she entered negotiations with Natsuki Subaru of the Emilia Camp, and with the promise of rights to the magic stones that were within the lands of Elior Forest, they made an alliance to work together to slay the coming White Whale.
The next evening, she brought along with her an army of knights, former members of the units involved in the Great Conquest, mercenaries of the Iron Fang (allies involved with the Anastasia Camp), Wilhelm and Ferris, and Subaru and Rem to Flugel’s Tree on the Lifaus Highway. After a long and drawn out battle, they successfully managed to bring down the Great Witchbeast, allowing Crusch to fulfill her promise with Wilhelm.
After shaking hands with Subaru and offering the assistance of some of her knights, including Wilhelm and Ferris, to defeat the Sin Archbishop of Sloth, she and Rem decided to return to the Royal Capital with the wounded. Unfortunately, along the way, their convoy was attacked by the Sin Archbishops of Greed and Gluttony. After being quickly defeated, Crusch’s memories were devoured by Gluttony. Despite this, the alliance between her camp and Emilia‘s was maintained.
Over the course of the next year, due to having lost the gravitas she once had, her standings in the Royal Selection have diminished as nobody was made aware of her memory loss besides the parties involved. According to Otto Suwen, it appeared as though Meckart Karsten has returned to help govern the Duchy while she struggled with her memories. However, there is no confirmation whether he officially joined her camp or only appeared to help the Duchy in her place.
Eventually, Anastasia Hoshin invited her and members of her camp to Priestella so that the two could know each other better, using the potential whereabouts of Gluttony as a way to draw her in. Soon after began the Battle for Priestella, in which the Witch Cult attacked and held the city hostage. Crusch was one of the people involved in the battle to reclaim City Hall, but after she was defeated, she was left cursed by the Sin Archbishop of Lust’s cursed Dragon’s blood, and she was forced to remain bedridden. Meanwhile, Wilhelm continued to fight against the Witch Cult, being partially responsible for the defeat of his undead wife, Theresia van Astrea.
Her present standings in the Royal Selection due to this, as well as her current whereabouts, have yet to be revealed.
