Well Stacked (also known as Get Over It, Block in a Hard Place, Supply Ships, and Blocked Up) is a recurring challenge in Survivor. First appearing in Survivor: Samoa, it has since reappeared in Kaôh Rōng and Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
Rules[]
The castaways have to cross an obstacle course, gather wooden blocks, and stack them into a tower. The first tribe to finish stacking their tower wins.
History[]
United States[]
In Samoa, the castaways raced across a net run carrying wooden blocks to a platform. When all of the blocks were at the platform, they would need to be stacked into a tower. The castaways would then cross a rope bridge to a second platform where two nets would be tied together holding more wooden blocks. After the nets were untied, the blocks would have to be stacked into another tower. Foa Foa finished their second tower first after a very close race against Galu, winning their first and only immunity.
The challenge re-appeared in Kaôh Rōng, when the players had to cross an obstacle course, collect wooden blocks, and stack them into a tower at a platform. Chan Loh lost the lead they had on the obstacle portion of the challenge, but managed to finish their tower first after Gondol's first attempt to stack their blocks ended in a tumbling defeat, barely winning immunity.
The challenge appeared as the third Immunity Challenge in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers. The players had to through a series of obstacles, use sandbags to knock blocks off the top of a ledge, and stack them into a tower. Soko knocked off all their blocks first, but failed to notice that they left one block on the ground after stacking their tower. This allowed Levu to come in first. Soko recovered after Patrick Bolton cost the Yawa tribe by refusing to let anyone else try to throw sandbags, sending Yawa to their second straight Tribal Council.
Australia[]
In Brains v Brawn (2021), the challenge appeared as the third tribal Immunity Challenge. Five members of each tribe will start by solving a giant disentanglement puzzle to release a ring. The tribe will carry the ring to a wall, locking it into place so that the members can climb over the wall before making their way across a rope bridge obstacle. Then, two members will throw sandbags to knock down a tower of blocks. The tribe will collect the blocks and proceed to the final task, where two members will stand on a seesaw. One member will hand their partner the blocks, which they will attempt to stack at the end of the seesaw. The first tribe to stack all ten of their blocks with the seesaw lifting from the ground wins. As Brawn struggled futilely with the first puzzle, Brains picked up an insurmountable lead that allowed them to clinch the victory before Brawn even made it to their seesaw.
In Blood v Water, the challenge was used as a team Reward Challenge. The Lava tribe was paired up, with each contestant tethered to their partner. The pairs would retrieve odd-shaped blocks from behind a metal grate before attempting to stack all their blocks on a wobbly table. Chrissy Zaremba and Jordie Hansen completed the challenge first, winning a KFC feast.
France[]
South Africa[]
In Panama, the challenge was used for individual reward. The members of Burba had five minutes to build a tower as tall as they could manage. When they were satisfied with the height of their tower, they would enter a "Safe Zone", but may leave at any time to resume construction of their tower. Only the players who were in the "Safe Zone" at the five-minute mark would be considered in the running for the reward, with everyone outside being disqualified. By the time five minutes had elapsed, Vanessa Marawa was the only person to make it into the "Safe Zone", thus winning an overnight stay at a luxurious hotel.
In Santa Carolina, the challenge was used as the final stage of an elimination obstacle course. The final four contestants had to build a vertical tower of blocks to spell the phrase "I AM IMMUNE". Though Ashley Hayden was the first person to figure out the phrase, strong winds kept toppling her tower, which allowed Izak Davel to stack his blocks first and clinch the win.
In Champions, the challenge was used as the first Immunity Challenge after the tribe expansion under the format first seen in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers. After Mindanao finished first in the challenge, Luzon and Visayas both faced significant anguish in keeping their blocks stacked, sustaining several head knocks along the way. In the end, Visayas pulled off the win, sending the new Luzon tribe to Tribal Council.
