Push Me, Pull You is a recurring physical challenge in Survivor. First appearing in Survivor: Nicaragua, it has since reappeared in Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X.
Rules[]
The castaways must pull on two metal bars for as long as they can to apply tension in order to keep a heavy metal bar from slipping and breaking their tile. The last person standing with a bar in their hands wins.
History[]
United States[]
The challenge was first used as the first individual Immunity Challenge in Nicaragua, where the last man and the last woman standing would win immunity. Fabio Birza defeated the men while Jane Bright defeated the women to win immunity.
This challenge reappeared in Millennials vs. Gen X as the final nine Immunity Challenge. After only four minutes, Adam Klein outlasted everybody else to secure himself immunity.
Australia[]
The challenge appeared as an individual Reward Challenge at the final eight of All Stars. The challenge came down to a showdown between David Genat and Shonee Fairfax. After over 40 minutes, Shonee dropped her bar out of the blue, allowing David to win the reward of a rainforest retreat.
France[]
South Africa[]
In Island of Secrets, the Manumalo tribe had the option of choosing one of three rewards to compete for: food (steak, wine, and vegetables), an advantage, or love (letters from home). In the "Food" round, Durão Mariano conceded the challenge to Nicole Capper mere moments into the challenge, believing that she needed the food more than him. In the "Love" round, Jacques Burger was the first person to drop out; he was closely followed by Laetitia Le Roux and Cobus Hugo. In the end, Mike Venter, in an attempt to keep his challenge threat level down, gave up the challenge to Steffi Brink, allowing her to receive her letter from home. In the final round, Mmaba Molefe and Rob Bentele played for an advantage. Mmaba slipped, allowing Rob to win the advantage. On the Island of Secrets, Rob learned that he had won the food, his letter, as well as a chance to practice for the next Immunity Challenge.
