Jesse Hansen

Jesse Hansen is a contestant from Australian Survivor: Blood v Water.

Jesse's tight bond with Sam Gash allowed the pair to become swing votes, dictating much of the game throughout the pre-merge and notably orchestrating the blindsides of Ben Watson and Croc Crocker. Although Jesse planned for a deep run with Sam, his brother Jordie's overly sketchy gameplay would cause Sam to turn on Jesse. When Jordie won immunity, Jesse unknowingly exposed himself by giving Sam an idol he had found, leading to his blindside early into the merge.

Jesse, 22, Triathlete, ACT

Jesse has a tight bond with his older brother, Jordie who is playing alongside him and although the two claim to be polar opposites of each other, they are dedicated to becoming the perfect team.
As a landscaper by trade, Jordie is used to digging holes and getting himself out of them. And despite the ease of which he makes friends, Jordie knows Survivor is about more than just being mates and is about understanding people on a deeper level.
Jesse enjoys anything that will challenge him and he will push through any physical or mental boundaries to get there. As a professional triathlete in training, Jesse is used to intense endurance and he even finds comfort in pain. Although he has a cheeky disposition, he does not take failure lightly.
What will be your strength in the competition?
My ability to stay focused on the goal of getting to the end and not getting caught up in the small things.
Do you intend to make big moves?
I intend to make big moves but probably not early on. I am coming to play and not be a number.^[1]

Jesse was initially placed on the Blood tribe, where his older brother, Jordie were assigned to Water. Early on in the game, Jesse developed a close bond with Sam Gash. On Day 9, after Blood lost the Immunity Challenge, Jesse and Sam found themselves as the swing votes, and eventually, joined Amy Ong's and Sandra Diaz-Twine's plan to vote out Sophie Cachia over David Goodchild, who joined the Water tribe instead being voted out. On Day 10, during the Reward Challenge, Jesse warned Mark Wales over Sophie as the two battled at Sumo at Sea.

On Day 15, the two tribes swapped, and Jesse moved to the Water tribe while his brother was assigned to Blood. On Water, Jesse found himself in a good position, howver, was eager to make big moves. On Day 22, after Water lost the Immunity Challenge, Jesse was determined to vote out Ben, and hatched a plan to split the votes between Ben and Khanh Ong, who was in possession of a Hidden Immunity Idol. KJ Austin, who was upset being told what to do by Jesse, considered joining Chrissy Zaremba's plan of voting Khanh over Ben. At Tribal Council, Ben received the majority of the votes, but was not voted out as it was revealed that Blood could kidnap a member between the three who received votes: Ben, Khanh and KJ, which they chose KJ.

On Day 23, after Water lost another Immunity Challenge, Croc Crocker tried to blindside Jesse. However, when he told his plan to Ben, it backfired as Ben revealed Croc's plan to Jesse and Sam. The three decided to bring Michelle Chiang into their plan of voting out Croc. At Tribal Council, the four succeeded blindsiding Croc. On Day 25, Jesse and Sam found themselves again as the swing votes upong a dual Tribal Council, while being approached by Chrissy to vote out Ben, while Ben hatched a plan to flush Khanh's idol and voting out Chrissy. In the end, Jesse and Sam decided to vote out Ben.

On Day 26, the two tribes merged into the Lava tribe, where Jesse got to play with his brother for the first time. Joride informed Jesse that Mark has an idol. On Day 27, Jesse won the individual Immunity Challenge. At Tribal Council, Jesse and Sam sided with the couples' majority and blindsided Khanh. After Mel Chiang was voted out, Josh Millgate deemed Jordie as untrustworthy, after telling him about Mark's idol. On Day 29, after Chrissy and Jesse won the Reward Challenge, Jesse found a clue for the Hidden Immunity Idol at the reward.

On Day 30, after Jordie won the individual Immunity Challenge, Jesse plotted a plan to vote out Josh, while Josh pushed to vote out Jesse as Jordie won immunity. Jesse would later find the Hidden Immunity Idol, but was caught by Sam, who convinced him to give her the idol to hide it on her. Jesse was still confident that Josh would be voted out, however, at Tribal Council, Sam turned on Jesse and blindsided him, making Jesse the third member of the jury.

At the Final Tribal Council, Jesse voted for Mark to win the game.
