Personality[]
In the past, Coatl was not above thievery until Leanotte’s avalanche. The avalanche led him to act selflessly by prioritizing saving the townspeople’s lives and watching over them out of a sense of regret and his desire to repent. However, he was prone to being blackmailed, and he refused to put his former comrades, who also contributed to causing the avalanche, in danger.
History[]
Coatl was an Itinerant Preacher whose name was famous in the Gustekan Church and a former member of the Ice Thieves. One day, when he and his cohorts attempted to retrieve the buried treasures they stole, they caused an avalanche and became unable to reach them. The town of Leanotte was caught in the avalanche, and out of regret and repentance for causing it, Coatl decided to participate in rescue operations, losing a leg in the process, and to offer up his savings to restore what was damaged in the town. Afterward, he moved to a nearby church, continued to watch over the town, lived a simple life of atonement, and became known as the Saint of the Avalanche.
Years later, a con artist named Maqueena perceived the connection between Coatl and the Ice Thieves. She masqueraded as a bard and blackmailed Coatl to extort money from him countless times. Around ten years after the avalanche, a survivor from Leanotte, Noelle Tuérico, exacted revenge on Coatl. She tortured Coatl in an attempt to force him to divulge the identities of his peers, but he refused, which led Noelle to murder him by dealing a blow to his head.
