Early Life

As the goddess worshiped by the Axis Order in the Parallel World, Aqua had started sending young dead Japanese there ever since the gods decided that outside help is needed for that world to be saved from the depredations by the Devil King. Part of this job was convincing Japanese people to reincarnate into the Parallel World with the encouragement of divine gifts, but Aqua instead spent lots of her time in heaven reading manga or playing games while making Eris take on her responsibilities. In the event she did do her job, they were mostly done half-heartedly, thus not only did she forget about the existence of many Japanese she had sent over like with Mitsurugi, but also allowed unsuitable candidates like the Head Researcher to reincarnate with powerful cheats.

And although hundreds of years had since passed in the Parallel World before she got dragged there herself, due to the difference in which time passes between the Parallel World and Heaven, according to her she had barely lived a bit longer than Kazuma.

When the newly deceased Kazuma Satou was sent to her for processing, Aqua started out their interaction by laughing at and teasing him for his hilarious death as a means to relieve stress, then during the explanation about how reincarnation works and his selection of divine cheat items, further incensed the infuriated Kazuma with her apparent con tactics and arrogant attitude. It ended with Aqua being selected by Kazuma to be his cheat item as payback, which according to the Angel sent to manage the young Japanese deceased in her place, meant that she cannot return to the heavenly realm until the Devil King is vanquished.

Aqua has the highest starting stats ever... only to later waste her Skill Points

Aqua was subsequently transported alongside Kazuma to Axel where all other reincarnates started their adventuring, in the process briefly shining a divine aura over the city that, without her knowing, changed the outcome of the nearby battle between Megumin and Arnes. Finding herself in a world where she had only skimmed the general knowledge of, the penniless and powerless Aqua descended into a panic fit of uselessness, until Kazuma took the initiative and led them to the Adventurer Guild. There she tried calling on her divinity to borrow money for the Guild's adventurer registration fee, only to end up begging from a Priest of the Eris Order. She still managed to be registered with starting stats that astounded Luna, and took the Class of Arch Priest for which she quickly learned all the Skills.

Irregular of Axel Arc

Having no money for equipment to start questing or even rent a room at the inn, however, Aqua had to settle with borrowing a stall at the stables where she and Kazuma slept. The two of them next began working part-time jobs, first as servers at the Guild's banquet hall where Aqua's purifying properties turned the alcohol she was serving into water and became a reason they got sacked, then later as banana sellers at a produce stand where she demonstrated making the merchandise disappear for good and got them both sacked again.

With jobs in the service industry all blown, they later turned to the construction industry, which was hiring heavy labourers because the craters Megumin had been blowing in the grasslands just outside the city walls needed to be filled, a job that Aqua despite initially resenting soon found herself enjoying. Convincing Kazuma to continue this line of work, they began a life of hard and gritty work during daytime before being the first to bathe at dusk, followed by Aqua performing at various eateries as they ate dinner after nightfall, sometimes in the company of their fellow construction workers, though her antics made a variety of people seeking her Arch Priest powers for help overlook her. Later assigned to work on the city walls as a mortarer, Aqua one day noticed Host charging towards the city, at which she blasted him with a powerful Exorcism magic.

Kazuma eventually brought Aqua to perform their first quest as adventurers against the Giant Toads infesting the grasslands outside Axel, though in the process she got gobbled up by a Giant Toad and became covered in smelly slime, then when trying to punch another understood that blunt attacks don't work on these oversized amphibians, following which she was eaten again and had to have Kazuma rescue her. Realising how their party is too underpowered, Aqua posted an advertisement at the Guild to recruit party members of an advanced Class, one that was ignored until Megumin at whom she had high regards for answered to it, yet when continuing their quest against Giant Toads subsequent to her Breaking the jinx on the Arch Wizard, Aqua again ended up being gobbled.

Aqua expressed approval of Darkness when the Crusader offered to join, and afterwards participated in the Cabbage harvest, where she grabbed a huge number of vegetables and accordingly began borrowing against the hall for her drinking tabs.

Being a goddess, Aqua instinctively hates the Lich Wiz

Some days later at Darkness' suggestion, the party took a quest for hunting a Zombie Maker at the public cemetery to help Aqua level up, but instead encountered Wiz during her ritual of sending the Ghosts of the buried dead who couldn't afford a proper burial to the afterlife. After Kazuma struck a deal with Wiz, Aqua instead of purifying the Lich had to send away the lost souls in her place.

Following the revelation that she didn't earn as much as expected during the Cabbage harvest because all she had grabbed were the cheap Lettuces mixed within, Aqua managed to beg Kazuma into paying off her debts, before she had to work on various odd jobs, due to one of the Devil King's Generals stationing himself near Axel and scaring all the weak monsters that the party was able to handle into hiding. When Beldia later showed up at the city and cursed Darkness to die after a week, Aqua quickly solved the problem by Breaking the curse with her goddess-powered Arch Priest magic and eliminated the party's need to go fight the Dullahan. As payback for making her unable to work on quests, however, Aqua accompanied Megumin on her daily Explosion exercises at the abandoned castle occupied by Beldia's forces, so that the harassment against them could continue.

At some point during the period, Aqua tried to sell water purified by her powers and imbued with holy properties, though unlike an ex-mage creating water nearby it didn't sell. She had then accompanied Megumin on the Explosion exercise where a passerby Roper became the target. Aqua also vied for leadership of the party, only to back out once she realised the liabilities which party leaders are responsible for. And during the party's hunt for a golden bamboo, she found herself a target of the attacking bamboo shoots.
(In the audio drama, it was also during this period when Aqua along with Darkness had for a short while mistook Kazuma and Megumin to have become a couple)

Finally tired of working on odd jobs that didn't earn her much, Aqua at Kazuma's approval took a quest for purifying the riverhead lake near Axel where Brutal Alligators were gathering, with the plan being her getting locked inside a large, sturdy cage that the rest of the party would lower into the lake, so her purifying powers would set to work upon her touching the water. It however turned out especially terrifying for Aqua when the Brutal Alligators swarmed in biting on the cage as she frantically cast Purification magic, until the lake was purified many hours later and made the Brutal Alligators leave. The traumatised Aqua though refused to leave the cage that her party members had to cart her back to Axel in, until Kyouya Mitsurugi caught sight of her and wrenched it open, though Aqua couldn't remember who he was despite getting reminded of herself being a goddess. She later refused Mitsurugi's offer to join his party, and upon hearing from the Guild how the cage he had damaged would be paid out of her quest rewards, punched him down at their next encounter before swindling him of more money over the cage.

When Beldia subsequently returned to Axel in fury over the continuing Explosions at his castle as well as them supposedly leaving Darkness to die, Aqua was chatised by Kazuma over her role in conspiring with Megumin, before openly laughing at the Dullahan after Darkness showed up very much alive. She proceeded to cast Turn Undead on Beldia, yet was unable to purify him due to the Devil King's wardings. Aqua next found herself the only one pursued by Beldia's army of Undead Knights, who were instinctively seeking salvation from a goddess, until under Kazuma's plan they were all blown up by Megumin. After several adventurers were cut down by Beldia, Aqua busied herself with Resurrecting them, then upon seeing Kazuma and other mages trying to weaken the Dullahan with water, summoned a flood with Sacred Create Water, which washed away not only a lot of Beldia's power but a considerable part of the city walls and nearby structures. Following Beldia's head getting Stolen by Kazuma, Aqua was finally able to purify the Dullahan from the living world. Yet despite the party receiving a huge reward for defeating one of the Devil King's Generals, the bill from damages wrought by Aqua's flood ended up plunging them all into great debt.

Chris reminds Aqua of Eris... I wonder why?

Some time afterwards, Aqua tailed Chris before trying to rob her of a purse she had stolen for returning to its rightful owner, though Kazuma showed up in time to stop it. Failing to chase after Chris and instead making a mess of herself, Aqua was later treated to drinks by the Thief, where during a friendly conversation she talked about Chris looking like an uptight junior of hers, though she subsequently made a fool of herself when drunkenly attempting to intimidate another adventurer.

Later following her return from a quest, Aqua captured a witch doctor who had been cursing women all over Axel, and planned to turn him over to the police, only to be stopped by Darkness and other women at the Guild when it was revealed that the women had paid him to be cursed into losing their appetite for a week so they could slim-up.

Deep Winter Arc

During the quest against Snow Sprites that Kazuma selected in hopes of it helping them survive the winter, Aqua brought to the snowfield forest butterfly nets and jars, with which she captured some Snow Sprites for cooling her drinks in summer. When the Winter Shogun appeared to avenge the Snow Sprites, Aqua pacified its wrath by freeing all the Snow Spirtes she had captured except one that she secretly kept, and advised her party members to dogeza at the generous spirit for mercy. Following Kazuma's decapitation, Aqua Resurrected his body and forced Eris to release his soul back into the living world.

In the one-day party swap between Kazuma and Dust, Aqua first surprised their temporary member by suggesting that they go fight Dragons, then made him speechless by showing off her Party Tricks and displaying indifference to Megumin's Explosion. Following the appearance of a Beginner's Bane, she attempted to unleash God Blow on the feline so she could brag to Kazuma afterwards, only to slip over on a puddle of its saliva and get her head bitten on by it. Later saved by Dust, she carried an unconscious Darkness as they stumbled back to the Guild, where they waited for Kazuma's return so they could revert to their original parties.

Aqua purifies the Undead... which she herself attracted

After Kazuma's decision to venture into Keele's Dungeon alone, Aqua followed him all the same for protecting him against the Undead, which following her directing the soul of a deceased adventurer to the afterlife and a Gremlin attack, came attacking in droves, only to have her purify them all like an actual goddess. Nearly falling for a Dungeon Mimic afterwards, Aqua was asked by Keele who had been wakened by her aura to purify him so he can join his dead wife, a wish she granted through a purification ritual powered by a magic circle drawn in his chamber. When leaving the dungeon, however, Kazuma figured out that it was Aqua's goddess aura that had been attracting the droves of Undead and accordingly ditched her in the middle of a monster attack, so as a result Aqua became traumatised by dungeons.

Some time subsequent to Aqua placing a powerful magic barrier around the public cemetery and forcing all the Ghosts out so that she didn't have to deal with the hassle of repeatedly going there, Kazuma to her fury took her to a magic item shop owned by Wiz in hopes of learning Lich Skills. After revealing her identity as the patron goddess of the Axis Order and attempting to purify the Lich who was one of the Devil King's Generals under the guise of letting her demonstrate Drain Touch, Aqua agreed to help the weakened Wiz take care of a request from a real estate broker regarding a Ghost infestation problem at one of his client's properties. Upon settling at what her sight told her to be the empty mansion which once belonged to a noble and was used to house Anna whose Ghost was still haunting the property, Aqua became shocked that night when a bottle of her prized wine was drunk by a Ghost, sending her on a furious rampage of Turning every wild Undead she saw throughout the building. Aqua later took out the possessed dolls which had been terrorising Kazuma and Megumin, though when accompanying Kazuma to the Guild for their ghostbusting reward the following day, it was revealed that her magic barrier around the nearby public cemetery had been driving the Ghosts into taking refuge at the mansion instead. Despite this earning her the rebuke of Kazuma, the real estate broker after hearing her apology still allowed the party to continue living at the mansion.

At some point during the period, Aqua proved her abilities as a muse of the arts by replacing some noble's masterpiece that she had accidentally damaged with an even better masterpiece painted by herself, attracting an apprentice with an etching of the Axis symbol at Wiz's Shop, and performing magical tricks. She also tried to sell masterly crafted soap figurines based on knights and spirits, though when she sold ones based on pretty women that can have their clothes melted off, Aqua attracted the attention of a policeman who she tried to bribe before Kazuma reported them to a policewoman.
(In the audio drama, Aqua joined her party on a simple delivery quest into the mountains, where she escaped to safety from a landslide only to have Kazama fall to his death, and managed to Resurrect him after they found his body a long time later, though not before apologising to the homeowner whose roof was damaged when his body fell into it)

Aqua found her abilities wanted when Abram hired her to solve a Ghost problem at his mansion, and following her discovering it to be his recently deceased father Pickles, proceeded to translate for her party members and Abram the desires of Pickles that needed to be fulfilled so he could pass onto the afterlife, before telling Anna all about it back at the mansion in addition to other secrets regarding Kazuma.

Aqua being too lazy to help Darkness

Aqua displayed reluctance to follow when Darkness accepted a scouting quest on the Powerful Messenger, and later tried to Break the curse it cast on Darkness that weakened the Crusader so much she had to help her with anything that required a little strength.

While accompanying Wiz on her request to eliminate Ghouls, Aqua again found herself attracting the grotesque Undead until being saved by the shopkeeper, following which she adjudicated the contest between Wiz and Wolfgang over who is the "King of Undead" by letting them Drain Touch her purifying aura, which burned up the Vampire and nearly destroyed the Lich.

Aqua tried to take a White Tiger cub as a pet... It did not end well

When Aqua was forced by Kazuma into accompanying them on a quest against a White Tiger, the divine beast instead gave her its newborn cub that needed to absorb her divine aura like milk. Aqua soon grew attached to the cub she had named Sieg after it weaned, yet due to it always soiling her hagoromo which it used as a bed and toilet in addition to unwillingness to be trained for combat, she decided to bring it back to the mountains for rejoining its mother. Sieg, however, refused to let go of the hagoromo, resulting in Aqua being brought away by its mother for a few days, after which Aqua made up her mind to own a Dragon as a pet the next time.

Waiting at a lake alongside Darkness when Kazuma one day brought Megumin over so the Crimson Demon could help the fishermen through explosion fishing, Aqua not afraid of the water insisted on standing at the shore, only for the Explosion cast into the lake blowing it up in addition to most of the fish, which resulted in her being splashed by a huge wave saturated with stinking fish offal. When the party afterwards followed the lead of Darkness into the forest for a quest against a feral Stealth Octopus, the goddess who loved to eat Octopi tentacles asked to have them all to herself but was refused by the Crusader. Aqua anyhow gathered kinder in preparation for roasting the Stealth Octopus while it had its tentacles slithering all over the captured Darkness, then became impressed at the camouflage effect of the monster making it morph into the colour of flesh once it began digesting the Crusader's clothing, though eventually she ignored the enjoying Kazuma's protests and butchered their quarry.

On a day the party took a break from questing, Aqua while walking around town suddenly found the accompanying Darkness taken hostage by a knife-wielding hooded figure who was also carrying Megumin's cat along. Unconcernedly observing the scene as Kazuma and Megumin also arrived, she quickly cast Exorcism before the figure could introduce himself because he revealed his identity to be a Demon, though at Megumin's behest Aqua let the Crimson Demon finish off the pest before he regrows like mould.

During the night when Kazuma went to bed early instead of enjoying crab pot with bubbly alongside his party members, Aqua caught upon the magic barrier she had erected around the mansion a Succubus attempting to break in, before beating up Kazuma who had covered for the low-ranking Demon's escape.

When the Mobile Fortress Destroyer advanced onto Axel, Aqua initially packed up to flee before Kazuma dragged her to the Guild meeting, where they formulated their response upon realising her ability to break the ancient weapon's magic barrier. Following her Breaking the approaching Destroyer's magic barrier so Megumin and Wiz could immobilise it, Aqua was forced by Kazuma to join the raiding party into the fortress on the verge of self-detonating, during which she Healed Kazuma's various injuries onboard and recited the diary of the Destroyer's Head Researcher. Then after the Coronatite core was Teleported away by Kazuma, Aqua became the source of magical power for recharging Megumin so she could obliterate the Destroyer before it explodes.

Late Winter Arc

With Sena coming to arrest Kazuma for treason because the Destroyer's Coronatite core Kazuma had teleported away obliterated Alderp's mansion, Aqua tried to force Kazuma to apologize for whatever he did, and then was one of the first to throw him under the bus after Sena threatened to arrest and imprison anyone vying for Kazuma for the same charges as him. Fearing Kazuma's reprisal once he gets out, she further incensed him during the two consecutive nights he was jailed with the stupid jailbreaking ideas that entailed distracting the guards through Megumin's telltale Explosions outside Axel, while she used the distraction to sneak him a lock picker when his cell used a combination lock, and a hacksaw for cutting the window bars he couldn't reach.

Then during the trial where Kazuma's party members acted as his defence attorneys, despite their practise mock trials gearing them up for nothing but how to shout "Objection", Aqua kept interrupting at inappropriate moments while having her own past actions used by Sena in her case against Kazuma. Although she detected a dark power interfering with the judge and Sena's judgments following Alderp's insistence that Kazuma is guilty despite the lack of evidence against him, Aqua blew it because she appended onto her observation a false claim about her followers' numbers, triggering a response with the lie detector and rendering her testimony invalid. Then after the trial was postponed thanks to Darkness, Aqua received a thrashing from Kazuma, who found out about her obstructions and vandalism of Wiz's business, following which she had her valued possessions at the mansion confiscated by knights as debt collateral for damages to Alderp's mansion.

Aqua was later introduced to Chomusuke with whom their relationship started poorly, before she was again gobbled up by Giant Toads when Sena forced the party sans Darkness into purging the amphibians that she thought had been waking from hibernation because of the prior Explosions. Subsequent to the party being saved by Yunyun, Aqua headed off to the Guild for selling the toad meat before returning to the mansion, where she discovered the "loli-NEET" bathing with Megumin who later attacked him, and proceeded with performing professional tricks in town the next day, as well as sparking a contest between Megumin and Yunyun with a Friendship Crystal at Wiz's Shop.

Following a few days of worrying about Darkness who had not come back (a period in the anime that Kazuma and Aqua used to explore Keele's Dungeon, where Kazuma abandons Aqua to fend for herself against a horde of the undead after he finds out she had been unintentionally attracting them with her goddess aura, leaving Aqua traumautized yet again.), Aqua was in the middle of having her possessions Stolen by Kazuma for debt repayment, when Darkness returned to tell her party about the arranged marriage she wanted their help to ruin, and during her explanation Aqua repaired a portrait of Walther torn up by Kazuma only to have him rip it up again. She later followed Kazuma's plan to dress up as a maid of the Dustiness household in order to accompany Darkness on her interview marriage with Walther, where she summoned koi in the garden pond towards her by clapping hands, though when Ignis walked in on the aftermath of Darkness' duel with Kazuma, she pointed the finger at him and Walther, which nearly got them both executed.

Aqua found herself reprimanded again after Kazuma discovered about the magic circle she had drawn in Keele's chamber still actively repelling monsters from the room, which could cement Sena's accusations of him causing the mysterious monsters that were emerging from Keele's Dungeon. Later forced to accompany the party to the dungeon entrance, one of the Vanir Dolls Aqua felt abhorred by hugged her before self-detonating. The shaken Aqua then decided to stay outside due to her prior trauma from dungeons, and upon detecting the evil aura of Vanir as he emerged possessing Darkness' body, immediately blasted him with Sacred Exorcism. Yet after exchanging barbs with Vanir, Aqua got backed into a corner when Vanir who fully utilised Darkness' body for defeating other adventurers present as well as protection against her magic proceeded to kill her, until Kazuma stopped him before enacting the plan that saw the Duke of Hell as well as Darkness blown up in Megumin's Explosion.

A week following Aqua fully healing Darkness when the party found her injured, (a possible time interval for Kazuma to have put on a wish-granting choker from Wiz's Shop that slowly chokes him to death unless his wish is granted, and forced Aqua to perform bread buying as well as other debasing things he requested, only to kill him after being enraged by his confession), Aqua displayed her talent at drawing with water, before the party was declared by Sena to be free of treason charges and debt as well as receive a huge reward for their exploits.

At some point during the period, Aqua knitted some very masterfully made yarn dolls for a competition. And when Kazuma reported experiencing serious stomach pains after Aqua returned from a girls meeting, she spooked his fears of being infested by a parasitic monster as payback for eating all by himself some delicious vegetables he had won, then later explained to a Kazuma spooked by the Witch Doctor he was brought to how hospitals in the Parallel World work. In addition, Aqua tried convincing Megumin and Darkness of her godliness by instructing koi to jump around her while she cast Nature's Beauty by the waterside, though the attempt failed just as predicted by Kazuma, whom the goddess attacked when he asked her to teach him the trick for summoning fishes. Aqua was too seen one day lazing inside the kotatsu with Kazuma until she was reminded about her being needed at a gathering of Axis followers, prompting her to rush towards the local Axis church where they decided to graffiti on the local Eris church, followed by running from police to sip tea at Wiz's Shop before heading home for dinner.
(In the audio drama, it was also during this period when Aqua went to help Wiz with the quest against Ghouls because she needed the money to buy a magic item from Vanir for repairing an expensive vase prized by Kazuma that she had broke, though afterwards she made fun of Kazuma once the vase was revealed to be a cheap knockoff which he got duped into buying at a high price)

Early Spring Arc

As spring approached, Aqua got influenced by the Kazuma shutting himself in the warm kotatsu into lazing off even after he got his act together, until she was forced to join the party's quest against Lizard Runners. However, she started out by attracting the whole herd with Force Fire, ruining Kazuma's well laid out plan of eliminating the monsters' leading runners from afar, before laying flat to sulk when he scolded her. Following Kazuma's death from falling, Aqua again Resurrected his body, though she was unable to convince Kazuma's soul into returning until Megumin committed upon his body the unspeakable.

The following day, Aqua was outraged when Vanir barged through her magic barrier to enter the mansion, and had a fight with him before Kazuma stopped her so he could discuss business, which entailed Vanir paying him hundreds of millions of eris. She and Kazuma thus started acting like weird wealthy without the motivation to take quests nor personally fight the Devil King, freaking Megumin out when she saw them a few days later. Aqua then readily agreed to Megumin's proposal for the party to take a vacation at Arcanletia, though she wasn't happy when they set out the next day only to have Kazuma bring Wiz along, which resulted in her having to sit in the luggage compartment of their caravan carriage after she lost in rock-paper-scissors. During their trip along the highway to Arcanletia, Aqua Healed Darkness and Powered Kazuma as they battled Running Hawkites that went after their Crusader, before excitedly purifying all the Zombies attracted to her in addition to catching Wiz in the crossfire after the caravan set up camp for the night. Aqua also caused pandemonium on the road the next day, when she flooded the carriage and nearly purified Wiz.

Upon arrival at Arcanletia, Aqua declared to Kazuma's horror how the city is actually the headquarters of the Axis Order. Subsequent to checking in at the inn, she took Megumin to visit the Axis main cathedral, all the way oblivious to how the Arch Wizard was hounded into trauma by her followers' attempts to convert. There Aqua sat in the confessional on behalf of the absent Zesta, where she totally engrossed herself in a holy role, until Kazuma, who after demanding without results for her to control the Axis followers' conversion antics, confessed a series of misdeeds he had committed on her and drove her into a frenzy. Later consoling a follower who came to confess how he was tempted by the big breasts of Eris on her paintings through revealing that Eris pads her chest, Aqua next tried out the secret hot springs behind the cathedral, only to enrage the old man maintaining them because she purified it on skin contact into pure hot water, in addition to having him scoff at her proclamation as his goddess. Gravely upset, Aqua returned to the inn that night weeping tears that threatened to purify Wiz.

Having gotten over her initial letdown by breakfast the next morning, Aqua recalled how it took her ages to purify the secret spring, and reasoned that something had been contaminating the hot springs, which she deduced was actually a conspiracy by the Devil King's army to bankrupt the Axis Order because they couldn't defeat it up front. With only Darkness agreeing to help her save the city, Aqua went to a number of inns to purify the poison from their hot springs, before preaching to her followers to not use the hot springs because of the contamination threat from the Devil King's army, though nobody believed her. Worse, some inn owners showed up to tell her off for turning their hot springs into pure hot water, and Aqua revealing her divine identity only made her followers accuse her of impersonating their goddess. Returning to the inn in failure, Aqua tearily pestered Kazuma into aiding her on the next day (though in the anime she was chased out of the inn that night by a mob of Axis followers coming to lynch her for sacrilege).

The following morning, Aqua led her party members to ask around the city for clues, and became enraged when it turned out that the prime poisoning suspect they managed to pinpoint had actually blurted out his plot some days ago when Kazuma was eavesdropping, only to have the cowardy Adventurer keep it under wraps in an attempt to avoid trouble. Aqua later drew a sketch of the suspect so the local Adventurer Guild could look out for him, yet she was afterwards informed that poisoned water were welling up in the hot springs all over the city.

Reasoning how the poisoner might have contaminated the main spring situated in the mountains behind the main cathedral, the whole gang took the trek towards the place, using Darkness' noble status to get past the Eris followers guarding the gate leading there. On the way, Aqua dismissed the dire implications from the dissolved remains of a Beginner's Bane they came across, before discovering a contaminated distribution pond she managed to purify with the help of Kazuma and Wiz's Freezing. But following them discovering Hans in the act of poisoning the source reservoir, Aqua had to chase after a Kazuma fleeing in panic after he discovered how the Deadly Poison Slime who was also a Devil King's General could dissolve him to the point Resurrection is impossible, before she forced everyone to follow her as she turned back to go fight. Yet Hans subsequent to being frozen in place by Wiz managed to throw a blob of concentrated poison slime into the source reservoir, which forced Aqua to stay beside it and keep Purifying, even when the Deadly Poison Slime reverted to his true monstrous form. Aqua later unleashed her full power of Purification after Megumin and Wiz respectively blew Hans into small pieces over the surrounding area that were immediately frozen, though in addition to cleansing the contamination, she also converted the main spring into gushing out pure hot water, resulting in the enraged townsfolk chasing the gang out of the city afterwards. And after returning to the party's mansion, Aqua proceeded to play a boardgame with Megumin before Yunyun came knocking.
(In the anime, the gang headed towards the main spring at night while being pursued by the lynch mob, who changed into believing Aqua before joining the fight when they saw Hans reverting to his monstrous true form. Following Kazuma's death and Hans being blown up, Aqua approached the reduced and weakened Hans when he broke out from the ice trapping him in order to strike him with God Blow, then while empowered by her followers' fanatical chanting obliterated him and purified the main spring with God Requiem. She later Resurrected Kazuma and the old man maintaining the hot springs from their bones that Hans had not yet dissolved, and subsequent to the party's return to Axel spent a long period there before heading to the Crimson Demon Village)

At some point during the period, Aqua told Kazuma as she sat purifying the water at a broken water purification plant of her ideas to do something goddess-like for attracting followers, only for him to chastise her when it turned out that earlier on, while showing off to some farmers how much water she could provide them with, Aqua had flooded the river and broke some floodgates at the plant. She also Blessed Kazuma so that he could win at a raffle the special prize described as a mysterious magic item from another world, only to be frustrated when it turned out to be a worn old style mobile phone. The Arch Priest in addition tricked Wiz into dressing up as a realistically looking Zombie for the scaring contest of the town festival, so that at the other adventurers' goading she could have an excuse to cast Turn Undead on the Lich.
(In the audio drama, Aqua popped awake from her nap in front of the mansion's fireplace before drinking Kazuma's prized neroid, then along with the other girls tore up Kazuma's diary because they didn't like how he had portrayed them)

When Wiz tried to sell the party a magic item that sends people to another world for 12 hours before forcing their return and wiping their memories of the trip, Aqua made to confiscate it, only to have Kazuma purchase the item upon hearing that the destination would be Japan. Following Kazuma to Japan with the others, Aqua tried tempting him into Stealing from ATMs because the pocket money he gave them were too meagre, before she was taken to eat fast food and brought to Akihabara, though her hagoromo got caught in the train door on the way and had to be rescued by a station employee. Later surprising Megumin and Darkness as she bought juice from a talking vending machine, Aqua proceeded to play with a claw machine at a gaming centre, where she irritatedly smacked the machine until Kazuma fetched a Pokachu keyholder for her. After nightfall, Aqua and the others accompanied Kazuma back to his home, but while waiting outside as instructed by Kazuma who went inside, the trio found themselves questioned by police, making Aqua panic as she had attempted goading Kazuma into theft earlier on. The party was at that moment transported back to the Parallel World as the effects of the magic item ran out, leaving them with no recollection of the events that transpired, and the Pokachu keyring being the sole reminder of the trip.

Aqua gets into a selling contest with Vanir... which she handily loses

Vexed by the reborn Vanir readily intermingling with Axel's inhabitants, Aqua one day dragged Kazuma into tailing the Duke of Hell for any excuses to exorcise him, and failing that got into a vegetable selling contest with Vanir by promoting Potato Barons. Taking a break the next day, Aqua tried to sell Axis charms when rumours of nightmares emerged, then after being unable to sell any, got persuaded by Darkness to leave Vanir alone.

Following Kazuma's encounter with Zatou Ozuma and his party, Aqua made fun of Megumin that night by calling her "Megumi", then when Ozuma and party came knocking the next morning and called out Kazuma for his lies, she and Megumin took advantage of Kazuma's retaliation to gang up on Megumi. Two weeks later, Aqua accompanied Kazuma to the Guild where Ozuma's party had became the star, when an adventurer was carried in sporting serious wounds inflicted by White Wolves, and surprised Akua by Sacred Highness Healing him using her superior powers, before shocking their party as everybody all went to fight the pack with the revelation that she can easily Resurrect the dead. Aqua proceeded to Bless Kazuma who Sniped the alpha of the White Wolves, though following the cleansing of the pack, she and her party had to apologise to Ozuma's party upon hearing of how their misdeeds caused trouble to the similarly named party.

With storm season approaching, Aqua eagerly joined the quest against the Great Spirit of the Storm as she persuaded Megumin to participate. When all the adventurers headed towards the lake where the Great Spirit of the Storm manifested, Aqua stepped forth to command the spirit which took the form of a bar hostess into leaving, only to be blown into the mud. Aqua later swam right up to the Great Spirit of the Storm where they had a heated argument, and following her loss swam with Kazuma back to shore before Explosions were unleashed upon it. She then manually Broke the ensuing "gift" of strong wind from the Great Spirit of the Storm, much to the disappointed chagrin of the male adventurers who had been anticipating the bikinis of female adventurers being blown off.

Possibly around that time period, Aqua was contracted through the Guild for a rainmaking job at the farmland area, and despite being piqued by her party members in addition to Luna expressing disbelief, she went ahead to set up a ritual for performing her rainmaking request, though despite trying to covet some expensive wine brought by Darkness as offerings, it was demanded by the spirits of rain to whom the goddess attempted presenting cheap wine, and started a quarrel with them until she and the other people had to flee from the ensuing flood, so in response she created a teruteru doll modelled after herself that was not only effective but also attracted followers. Then one other time she was asked by Darkness to help her tail Chris, the Arch Priest pointed out how the shady-looking person who gave the Thief white powder was actually a baker selling flour and sugar, as well as the bloodstained man whom she approached was a poultry butcher selling eggs, before asking Chris if she was shopping for ingredients to make a birthday cake.

Aqua was forced into following her party to some ancient ruins when Kazuma took away her staff, so she could assist with the quest against a Titan Golem, which Kazuma had accepted from Luna in the presence of Ran. Later busy with making a model Dendro Maiden out of milk cartons for Megumin, Aqua agreed to help on the quest for searching the underground facility of the ruins upon hearing that they could keep any treasures found. She was attacked by a bunch of little Golems possessed by Ghosts which she quickly purified while the party was going through some Japanese commodities they discovered, before uncovering and reciting the diary left by the young Head Researcher regarding his first few years following her sending him to the Parallel World. And upon Kazuma uncovering a deactivated Pretty Girl Golem the Head Researcher hid in the facility, Aqua despite her initial misgivings pushed the button for activating the dominatrix construct, then back at the Guild observed in amusement with the other girls how Kazuma discovered that Ran was paid to pose as his fan.

Cursed Ring Arc

On the night after Kazuma brought back the cursed ring he had picked up on the way home, Aqua while drunk at a sukiyaki feast, which she treated the party to with the rewards from purifying an evil spirit keeping a treasure chest locked, dared him to slip it onto his finger. She however found out the next morning that the ring had became stuck due to a curse that also forced Kazuma into Stealing somebody's panties, one she later declared was of a nature her magic couldn't Break. Accompanying to Kazuma to Wiz's Shop after punching him, she heard Vanir explain the ring's history as well as how it forces its wearer to steal panties upon every full moon. Aqua thus agreed to help Kazuma earn the 30 million eris Vanir charged for removing the ring, though she also offered to reattach Kazuma's finger if they had to chop it off, and held meetings with the other girls in addition to Wiz, Yunyun, and Chris to discuss the matter.

After Kazuma still Stole a panty despite all the girls staying somewhere else for the night, Aqua later complied with Kazuma's idea of earning Vanir's curse removal fee by working at his maid café dressed up as a maid server, where the gap between her dutiful serving and her usual drunken performing attracted many customers, though circumstances soon forced it to close.

Aqua next utilised her water manipulation powers to train for as well as compete in the swimming contest at the riverhead lake for the Sports Festival so the party can win the prize to pay the fee. Yet despite making it to the festival in time after she had to run back home for her forgotten swimsuit, in addition to returning to the race course subsequent to running off because of surfacing Giant Toads, the presence of Brutal Alligator hatchlings that she had detected and panicked at by nearly stifling Kazuma soon ended with the Sports Festival cancelled.

Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness form the idol group "Shiny Blue"

Following a discussion during breakfast among the girls over what to do about Kazuma after he Stole panties again, where Aqua advised to have his arm chopped off, she in response to him suggesting selling light novels proposed writing about the propagation theme of her saving the world using her goddess powers, which spurred Kazuma into scrapping the project, before she caused a ruckus at Wiz's Shop when he went there for consulting Vanir. Aqua anyhow inspired Kazuma into making money through starting a singer idol unit, and displayed her talent in design when making the costumes, then during the preparation distinguished herself with her performance talents to become the centre of the unit named "Shiny Blue". Despite the plan's initial success, Aqua soon blew it when during the handshaking events, she tried to convert fans into the Axis Order which ended up scaring most of them away, and forced Kazuma to disband the unit early.

During one night when the ring's curse activated, Aqua detected something powerful trying to break into the mansion only to be repelled by the magic barrier she had erected around it, which she discovered after charging into Wiz's Shop in the morning wasn't Vanir. Then despite declining to accompany Kazuma on a quest to seek stolen antiques in a cave used by thieves as a hideout and forcing him to go with Chris and Yunyun instead, under the temptations of reward she still tailed him with Megumin, Darkness, and Wiz, which resulted in them too falling through a trapdoor into a deeper part of the cave system, where subsequent to reuniting with Kazuma she attracted a horde of Undead. Later as the whole gang tried to sneak past the Skull Dragon sleeping by the exit only to have it woken by the ring, Aqua although merely putting up a half-hearted effort due to no monetary gain, still discovered the Undead monster too strong for her to purify alone.

After failing to retrieve the panties Kazuma had been forced by the curse to Steal at the next full moon, Aqua agreed to help earn the fee through working odd jobs. Several days later when the Skull Dragon was seen making its way towards Axel and had a bounty put onto it, Kazuma subsequent to hearing from Vanir of its origins assigned Aqua to purify the Skull Dragon after the other adventurers fought to weaken it. The Sacred Turn Undead she casted however still wasn't enough to finish off the Skull Dragon, but the damage wrought onto the body allowed the soul of the mage who created the cursed ring to gain full control over it. The Skull Dragon afterwards voluntarily allowed Aqua to purify it once Kazuma offered up the panties he had Stolen, though Kazuma's subsequent death at the hands of those panties' enraged owners forced Aqua to Resurrect him again.

Following the series of possible rewards and penalties for Kazuma depending on his performance in the "Panty Judgments", Aqua might find herself tricked by con artists masquerading as Axis followers who gifted her with expensive offerings into signing a loan for millions of eris using the party's mansion as collateral. She was then forced by Kazuma to undergo a series of intense training in order to win the prize at a beauty pageant judged by Eris followers, which involved jogging through territories of Giant Toads that got her eaten, as well as behavioural rectification sessions for making her act goddess-ly. Eventually, Aqua was declared the winner of the pageant, only for her to blow it when she reverted to her usual attitude on stage while declaring herself a goddess, causing her victory to be revoked and compelling her to continue working on jobs, which she might feign madness to shirk from or find herself enjoying.

At some point during that period, Aqua became part of the reason Kazuma died during one of their quests and required her Resurrection, following which Kazuma shut himself up inside the kotatsu so his party members won't get him killed again. After the girls failed to drive him out, Aqua as part of their plan joined Kazuma in the kotatsu to laze around, and succeeded in making him go on quests again once he realised there'll be nobody to earn food and money, though soon Aqua really found herself missing the kotatsu before getting Kazuma killed once more.

Magical Stones Arc

During a walk outside Axel one day, Aqua picked up a shard of glassic stone at the entrance to the neighbourhood ruins, which she planned to make into accessories for sale after showing it to her party members back at their mansion. Yet with Megumin detecting strong magical powers emitted by the shard, Kazuma against Aqua's wishes decided to take it for assessment at Wiz's Shop, where she reluctantly let Vanir inspect it. Aqua soon became elated when Vanir declared the shard to be part of a larger magical stone, which he offered to buy for millions of eris.

Finding a Devil-Sealing Magical Stone, Aqua intends to locate them all for selling

She accordingly led her party members to the place she found the shard, where Yunyun popped out from hiding to challenge Megumin only to be defeated again. After the party defeated a Muncher-Muncher at the deepest part of the ruins, they unearthed the magical stone, into the depression of which Kazuma snapped Aqua's shard into. Aqua proceeded to snatch at the shard, yet the magical stone upon her touching it started glowing with more magical power in addition to displaying a shining kanji for "five" on the surface, until she gouged the shard back out of it. Back at Wiz's Shop, Aqua who refused to part with her shard caused issues because Vanir won't buy an incomplete magical stone at full price, though when headed to the Guild for discussing the matter, she became overjoyed to hear from Chris that there were more of those Devil-Sealing Magical Stones out there.

While asking around for clues to the magical stones at the Guild the next day, Wiz brought the party a magical stone detection device commissioned by Vanir that used Aqua's shard as a power source for detecting other magical stones, and pointed them to Keele's Dungeon where Luna had offered them an Undead subjugation quest at. Upon reaching the dungeon entrance, Aqua was all ready to go purify some Undead when she got caught in the Explosion casted by Megumin. Later as they set foot inside the dungeon, Aqua fell into a falling pit trap and accordingly panic, from which Kazuma only decided to save her from because she was holding the detection device. As they made their way towards the lower level, the party ran into Mitsurugi and his party members, at which the Swordmaster agreed to join in their search for the magical stones because of Aqua. Aqua afterwards purified unnaturally numerous waves of Undead as the party advanced into a secret passageway beyond Keele's chamber, where they were faced by the Devil Giger leading the Undead attracted to the dungeon by the magical stone. Following the Devil Giger's resurrection by the magical stone's power subsequent to the party defeating it once, Aqua smuggly demonstrated her goddess power by punching it from existence with God Blow. She later activated the magical stone when punching it for attracting the Undead, before purifying all the Undead from the dungeon and returning to the Guild to hear more about the magical stones from Chris.

Before heading off to the Temple of Everlasting Summer where the next magical stone was located, Aqua went shopping for swimsuits just in case they found the rumoured oasis in the area. She soon found herself shocked too at the scorching heat of the area, though the party managed to defeat the Bildnibis guarding the magical stone before retrieving it from the temple's depths.

Aqua then followed the party to the underground research facility of the Head Researcher, where they ran into Ran at the ancient ruins above ground, and allowed her to join them on their adventure. Making their way down to the lowest level, the party fought Gun Falcon DX and later Gun Falcon BX, before discovering the magical stone that Aqua activated on touch. She however went complaining to Wiz and Vanir about the detection device only detecting one stone at a time, then enjoyed a crab pot with her party members at the mansion that night.

Trudging through the snowfield forest where the next magical stone was hidden, Aqua pestered Kazuma for a way to warm herself, following which she had a squabble with Chomusuke. After the party defeated the Dera Mammo that soiled Aqua's hagoromo at the depths of a snowy dungeon, the magical stone got blown out from the ice, and all their companions at Axel were accordingly invited to the hot springs that gushed out.

The following day, Aqua hollered to Luna at the Guild for her to release the lockdown on the Mystery Tower, inside which lay the next magical stone. Although the party did eventually get permission to enter, upon a horde of Undead sighted outside the tower on their approach, Aqua got kicked out by Kazuma to lure them away, though she managed to follow them inside the tower before the Undead caught up. As the party along with Wiz made their way up the tower, during a discussion about them running into all kinds of people and monsters they had met before, Aqua got hugged by a Vanir Doll that exploded on her. She accordingly had to fight a Giant Toad Ghost that brought out her trauma with Giant Toads and Undead, then on the top floor was faced with the physical illusions of Beldia and Hans. During the party's battle with them where Kazuma discovered how one illusion would upon defeat be immediately resurrected by the other, Aqua was directed to purify Beldia at the same time Wiz froze Hans, a tactic which successfully defeated the illusions. Hans however tried to dissolve her with concentrated corrosive slime as a final act, though Aqua's hagoromo saved her despite getting soiled, following which Beldia rolled his head to peek up some girls' skirts before being stomped from existence. Aqua later picked up the magical stone powering the tower, causing the tower to begin disappearing, at which Kazuma used her hagoromo as a parachute for everyone until Wiz Teleported them all to safety. Back in Axel, Aqua told Kazuma how he won't be able to use the magical stones even if they were the cheat items of other Japanese reincarnates, and suspected the detection device to be broken when the final magical stone was shown to be moving about.

Aqua headed to the Guild the first thing next day for complaining at Vanir about the detection device, who retorted that it was the dungeon containing the magical stone that was moving, before Sena came to tell all adventurers about a moving dungeon appearing. Agreeing to explore that dungeon after Vanir offered to pay extra for all seven magical stones, Aqua followed the party to the town dungeon described by Kazuma as a Shangri-La. Upon seeing somebody fishing at a lake, Aqua split off to go talk with him, only to find a puppet poised over a lake made of glass. She accordingly chased after Kazuma who had gone ahead without her, only to discover him attacked by the doll copies of their party, so she joined up with Megumin and Darkness to help him defeat the imposters, though Kazuma found her doll copy fighting more competently than the real Aqua. The Doll Master who created the dungeon and carried the magical stone then showed up, before telling them its sad story of being discarded because of its appearance. But when it offered to let the party safely depart if they would leave it and its dungeon alone, Aqua who wanted to get the magical stone instead frankly insulted the Doll Master for looking disgusting, enraging it so much it reactivated the party's doll copies to help it wage war on them. After the party managed to defeat all the dolls, Aqua purified the hatred held by the Doll Master against humans, making it revert to a normal lifeless doll, from which she retrieved the magical stone.

Despite expressing curiosity at the rumour regarding the seven magical stones being able to grant any wish once they are all assembled at an altar on the Island in the Sky, Aqua was unwilling to seek help at Wiz's Shop until Kazuma forced her to go using the shard, which resulted in them all taking a terrifying trip through the air. Afterwards as her party with Wiz and Vanir in tow made their way through the floating island, Aqua hollered for a break when she got tired of walking, then noticed her shard glowing with increased intensity due to the altar being in proximity, before trying to make Kazuma and then Darkness her windshield. When the party reached the centre of the island where the altar was located, Aqua despite having a bad feeling about the place still placed all the magical stones including her shard upon the altar as instructed by Vanir, only for the stones to glow unnaturally, at which she immediately gouged her shard out without the others knowing. Following Vanir's boasting of his scheme with the Devil-Sealing Magical Stones and his flattening by the manifested Imitation Dragon, Aqua began cheerily taunting the Demon, only to have her aura attract the attention of the monster that began attacking the party, who barely fought their way out of the Island in the Sky thanks to Wiz freezing the rampaging beast. But after everybody made it back to the grasslands outside Axel, Kazuma and Megumin caught Aqua with the smuggled shard, following which the worst occurred when it attracted the Imitation Dragon to right outside Axel's gates.

With the rampaging monster attracting the gathering of adventurers who accompanied them on their search of the magical stones, Aqua despite trying to flee got held down by Kazuma and forced to fight. During the fierce battle, Kazuma noticed Aqua's shard transferring power to the Imitation Dragon which allowed it to regenerate from its wounds, so after some persuading from Megumin and Darkness, Aqua sorrowfully allowed him to smash it. She proceeded to carry on her attacks, before unleashing Sacred Create Water under Kazuma's instructions to hold the Imitation Dragon in place for the killing blows to be made. Later with Vanir being unapologetic over starting the whole ordeal, Aqua along with Darkness and Megumin ganged up on him.

Following Sena's decision not to pursue her responsibility in attracting the Imitation Dragon, Aqua joined the other adventurers in celebrating their victory at the Guild, though she soon had debt collectors coming for her.

Black Slab Arc

One night when returning from the Guild all drunk and barely coherent, Aqua was offered a job paid with more drink by somebody she could hardly remember, which she tried telling her party members about following their disastrous quest the next day. She was however ignored, until she picked up from the ground a gem while Megumin picked up a black stone slab. After the party had Wiz assess the Black Slab at her shop, Aqua upon being told how it could generate clothing when provided with ingredients and magical power, proceeded to use the gem and some of Wiz's sleeping perfume as a test while Darkness was fantasizing, which created a set of high-quality sleepwear for young girls. She was terrified the follow morning, however, when Darkness's personality changed to that of a sadist, at which Kazuma told her about the newly discovered curse of the slab.

Subsequently told by Sena that their party was accused of theft by a nobleman who offered to pardon them from banishment if they could generate within the deadline a set of clothing that makes the wearer envious, Aqua suggested for them to flee in the night since she couldn't create clothing with the ability to change thoughts, though with Darkness affected by the curse, she then agreed to use the Black Slab coupled with some clothing recipes from Vanir that were concocted by a man in black robes as well as the Archdemon himself. Spending the ensuing weeks in a cycle of the whole party working several days on odd jobs and quests for ingredients and money to buy ingredients followed by rest and clothing generation, she suffered increasingly scary penalties from Darkness which she once fretted to Chris about, especially when Darkness began forcing the party into survival training in case they needed to flee into the wild, though she was saved after the curse was broken once Darkness whipped Kazuma while wearing Leather Lest. Yet despite taking a breather following the generation and delivery of the requested School Invidia to the nobleman, Aqua fell into distress once more when Sena came to tell them that the set of clothes had just been stolen, and the nobleman was again requesting them to make another set of clothes for earning his pardon.

After being notified by Yunyun of Megumin getting cursed into thinking that loli girls are better, Aqua as she again helped the party work for ingredients suggested for her to make a speech that spreads her ideals for a Lolita Alliance, though she went off on a secret job while Kazuma was busy breaking the curse on Megumin with Pure Doll. Soon afterwards, the party used the Black Slab for generating the requested Idol Superbia, in the meantime of which Aqua expressed a desire to have her feelings healed by drinking bubbly, lazing around the mansion, and getting a relaxing massage. Then several days since Idol Superbia was sent out, Aqua helped a man in black robes cast Force Fire to attract monsters so that some mercenaries travelling on the road could get surprise training, and got paid for it with a bottle of extra rare bubbly. Yet when she returned to the mansion, Sena came to tell the party that Idol Superbia was stolen from the nobleman along with a bottle of extra rare bubbly at the same time the outside mercenaries hired to boost security were attacked on the road by summoned monsters. Subsequent to Sena dropping off another clothing request from the nobleman before leaving, Aqua under Kazuma's stringent interrogation confessed all about her helping a man in black robes summon monsters earlier that day, an act the others realised had made them accomplices to the theft.

Forced by a despairing Kazuma to seiza the next day, Aqua at Darkness' further questioning revealed how she had helped the man in black robes break a magic barrier guarding someplace during the night before they picked up the Black Slab. Aqua later followed Kazuma to see Wiz whom she was prevented from attacking, and heard about the Lich uncovering more details on the curse, which indicated that this time it would be Aqua's turn to be cursed with feeling no desire. As the party went to work for ingredients all over again, an incident happened in which Kazuma offered to clean the bathroom in Megumin's place so that she could have her feelings healed by sleep, but flatly refused Aqua when she requested something similar in an attitude that didn't show her being cursed. Subsequent to Sexy Formal being generated to break the curse on her, Aqua was told to put it on while the party laid a trap at Wiz's Shop for the man in black robes as he came to deliver clothing recipes, though what showed up was instead a robed doll possessed by undead that Aqua promptly purified. The party though continued working to generate the requested Sexy Luxuria for buying more time, yet after a successful delivery, the nobleman came up with more excuses to make them generate an additional set of clothes, at which Kazuma comforted Megumin and Darkness in an unprecedented fashion, making the girls realise that it was him who got cursed.

Following some discussion between Aqua and the other girls as well as a bit of experimentation, the three of them came to the conclusion that the curse which should have hit Aqua got rebounded by her godly aura onto Kazuma, causing him to desire healing the feelings of everyone but Aqua. Wiz then delivered some new clothing recipes despite the culprit who concocted them supposedly vanquished by Aqua already, but the party nevertheless started working for its ingredients. Days later, Aqua was convinced by Kazuma that the culprit in black robes was actually still alive, before telling the other girls how they might need to have Kazuma give them a relaxing massage for the curse on him to break. Then after several massages failed to break the curse, Aqua theorised that their defenciveness against Kazuma massaging them had impeded the curse's lifting and let it sit to a point where it was becoming permanent. When Kazuma later wanted to massage a defenceless Megumin and Darkness together although there was only one set of Charming Roomwear generated for making them feel relaxed, Aqua brought out the sleepwear she had generated in the test run of the Black Slab, and so the curse was eventually lifted. The party accordingly continued gathering ingredients for the requested Berserk Ira while Aqua strengthened the magic barrier around the nobleman's mansion, all as part of Kazuma's plan to catch the man in black robes.

One night right before the deadline, the party ambushed and captured the man in black robes when he sneaked into their mansion to steal the ingredients, and Aqua was reminded by Kazuma to admit her guilt subsequent to Sena putting the man under arrest. She accordingly followed Darkness who was wearing the Armour of Wrath to the grasslands outside Axel, and afterwards helped rip up the set of clothes generated by the escaped man in black robes that got Stolen and put on by Kazuma, before Resurrecting him after his death from the pain those clothes caused him. Many days later, the man in black robes who had his desires reversed due to the Black Slab's curse testified to clear Aqua of guilt.

After everything was settled with her having tested out enough numbers of various clothes, Aqua named Kazuma as the guarantor for her drinking debts, then went pestering Kazuma for money when she couldn't pay it off, prompting an agreement among the others that she needed to be taught a lesson in taking responsibility. Thus Aqua was forced into heavy construction work, but after a tiring day she still failed to see sense, and instead sneaked off the the Guild early next morning to tell Luna a story for slandering Kazuma. Upon Kazuma showing up to clarify things, Luna offered a quest to search for treasure hidden by a thief, which Aqua suggested they should keep a secret from Megumin and Darkness so that the two of them can get a bigger share. But after entering the objective cave, Aqua stupidly pressed a switch on the wall and activated a series of traps, resulting in her falling into a pit trap and dragging Kazuma down with her. She proceeded to Heal Kazuma's caved-in skull while giving him a lap pillow and preaching to him, though subsequent to them discovering that the treasure had already been taken by somebody, Aqua descended into denial, until Kazuma helped her out by using the last generation of the Black Slab for a waitress dress. He then made a deal with the Guild to have Aqua work there as a waitress for paying her debts as well as punishment for indulging in her desires and ruining the trust between party members, though Aqua who attracted many customers kept breaking dishes and thus increasing the debt, at which Kazuma might let her continue working there until she enjoyed the job, or Aqua instead owed money to Kazuma who paid back her debts to the Guild and made her play games.

Mid Spring Arc

Aqua proved oblivious to Yunyun asking to bear Kazuma's child while concentrating on her boardgame until Megumin overturned it (which wasn't the case in the anime since she was eating at the Guild when Yunyun came to make the request), then expressed impatience upon hearing that Kazuma's child would be the one to defeat the Devil King. She proceeded to cause trouble at Wiz's Shop the following day when the party assembled there, before being Teleported to Arcanletia and starting their trek along the trail to the Crimson Demon Village. On the way, Aqua and the other girls fell for the allure of a Tranquility Girl, making her prevent Kazuma from cutting it down then and there, as well as get mad at him after he later killed it.

When the party reached the clearing upon the trail the following day, Aqua tried warning the Kazuma scouting ahead to flee from an Orc to no avail, and afterwards consoled him after he got traumatised by the Orcs' molestation. With the party as well as Yunyun discovered in the forest by Oni (or Goblins in the anime) later on, she outright taunted the Devil King's grunts into fury, before getting saved and Teleported back to the Crimson Demon Village along with the others by Bukkororii and his vigilantes.

After Aqua chased off the vigilantes who made themselves invisible before throwing a stone at Yunyun when the chieftain's daughter pointed it out, she attempted to revert the petrified Griffin placed at the village entrance only to have Kazuma stop her. Aqua proceeded to accompany the party in hearing Hiropon explain the situation and witness how the Crimson Demons fought off another attack by the Devil King's army, then got brought back to Megumin's home where she impressed Komekko with magic tricks.

The next morning at breakfast, Aqua joined the other girls in calling Kazuma names for him attempting to make a move on a sleeping Megumin during the night. Later as Megumin took her and Kazuma sightseeing around the village, Aqua jumped into the Wishing Fountain to look for spare change as well as act like the Fountain's goddess, then became astonished when she and Kazuma found a rifle used as a drying rod at Chekera's clothing shop. She was subsequently taken to see the Hill of the Demon God (or Red Prison in the anime) before returning to Megumin's home when Sylvia led a raid by the Devil King's army from that direction, and after nightfall went to the village's Mixed Baths prior to heading to sleep. Following being woken up by Sylvia's night raid, Aqua cast Sacred Exorcism at her in order not to harm the Kazuma taken as hostage, though after the Chimera withstood the holy magic, Aqua considered abandoning Kazuma as he threatened to defect.

Joining the others to the underground storehouse for storing weapons where Kazuma was taken to some time afterwards, Aqua then fled alongside the villagers to the Hill of the Demon God due to Sylvia whom Kazuma had trapped inside the warehouse breaking out merged with the Mage-Killer and razing the village. She later reluctantly accompanied Kazuma to search for clues on the weapon created to counter the Mage-Killer at the underground warehouse (in the anime they instead went along with Megumin to some other ancient ruin with engravings in Japanese), where they discovered many old Japanese games and consoles as well as a Japanese diary written by the Head Researcher, which summarised how he used the neighbouring research facility to create games for his entertainment, before grudgingly creating the Mage-Killer, the Crimson Demons, and the "Railgun (TBD)" looking like a drying rod that was designed for countering the Mage-Killer. Aqua was accordingly chatised by Kazuma for sending weirdoes to this world in addition to being queried about her age to her wrath. Some time afterwards, she helped Kazuma retrieve the Railgun and pour magical power into the weapon.
(In the anime, subsequent to the Railgun being charged fully by Megumin's Explosion and fired by Komekko to punch through Sylvia, Aqua had to flee alongside the others when the Chimera returned to life merged with the dead Beldia and Hans. Following the arrival of Wiz and Vanir, Aqua under Kazuma's instructions repeatedly Blessed him, so that when he was accordingly absorbed into Sylvia and blown up by Megumin and Yunyun's Explosion of Saber, there would be enough of him left to allow Resurrection)

Spending the next few days in the village as it was being rapidly rebuilt, Aqua ran into Pekonyan who she immediately identified as a Ghost, and subsequent to hearing him lament his regrets about the cursed boulder he brought back that jinxed the village, persuaded her party to help him exorcise the jinx. The following day she accompanied her party and Yunyun towards the rock, yet due to her suddenly sneezing just as Kazuma was trying to sneak the gang past a Greater Panda with Lurk, they got attacked by the omnivorous monster, which Kazuma afterwards forbade her to keep as a pet (while in the live recital, she attracted the Greater Panda when purifying the Zombies attracted by her). She next tried to stop Kazuma from foolhardily attacking a Knee-kick Runner but to no avail, and later finding herself the first one targeted by attacking monsters, Aqua began reasoning it to be the jinx attempting to stop her from exorcising. Eventually reaching the cursed boulder, Aqua snatched Megumin's moment by casting Sacred Highness Exorcism on it, though she then had the misfortune of having stones and twigs blown at her by Pekonyan's Tornado. She alongside her companions afterwards munched on the watermelons Pekonyan had left behind, before starting a seed-spitting contest with the other girls.

While Kazuma wasn't looking, Aqua also sneaked off to the underground warehouse to retrieve some games and consoles he had stopped her from playing during the heat of battle, and to her delight also discovered a rare miniature of the Destroyer that was created by the Head Researcher placed in a glass case, which she secreted back home so she can keep all the money from its sale.

Upon return to their mansion, Aqua proceeded to laze around before the party was notified about the princess' request (while in the anime, she joined the party on a picnic after their return to Axel, where she witnessed Megumin's powered-up Explosion, and subsequent to that spent a long period on other things before the princess' arrival).

At some point during the period, Aqua whined at Kazuma about how some Eris followers freely distributing food and Healing people on the streets could attract more followers in an affront to the Axis Order, though upon failure to take Kazuma's apples and instead getting squeezed by him, she walked over to the Eris followers in order to get free food and Healing, much to Kazuma's chagrin.

Despite trying to keep the existence of the Destroyer miniature a secret, it was eventually found out by Kazuma who suggested that he and Aqua share the money from its sale. Ordered to clean the Destroyer miniature, Aqua took it out of the glass case, only to have it activate and run around the mansion, which alerted Megumin and Darkness too of it. After a deal was made for the whole party to equally split the sale money, Aqua was stationed at the mansion's entrance where she was to catch the miniature when the others chase it out. Yet the moment Aqua grabbed it, the miniature upon absorbing her enormous magical power enacted self-detonation, rendering her unconscious and their money-making scheme moot.

Sometime after Aqua discovered a den of little snakes at a lake while cooling off there, she attempted to ignore an assembly broadcast by the Guild in order to laze around at the mansion, though the goddess eventually abided when her party's presence was specifically requested, and found out that a high-ranking official of the Guild Headquarters was going to come inspect Axel on the following day. Protesting Luna's warning about the official possibly disqualifying troublemaker adventurers because it labelled her as one too, she was silenced by the pressure from the receptionist, and was ordered to perform quests normally during the official's visit.

Aqua proceeded to tidy up her act on the day of the inspection by dressing herself up in the robes of the Axis Order, and in response to Kazuma talking all the adventurers into questing against her natural enemy the Giant Toad, the goddess proudly presented the little snakes caught from the lake that she planned to scare the oversized frogs immobile with, only to be gobbled up along with her basket of snakes. She following rescue jumped at the offer of the official who was actually hoping to recruit powerful adventurers for filling up vacancies at the royal capital's Guild, yet Kazuma declaring his intent of staying in Axel surprised her. Aqua was soon afterwards chided at by everybody, because the little snakes she had brought turned out to be the young of a Frog Killer which was now attacking the adventurers. Although warned by Kazuma how she could possibly be disqualified by the official for this, it soon turned out alright because Megumin blowing up the oversized snake cancelled out her responsibility.

Sometime around that period, Aqua pestered Kazuma into financing her shopping of vegetables from the market, then explained to him how herbicides were for tranquilising the aggressive vegetables when taking them from their cages, though subsequent to taunting Kazuma for not knowing that turnips could be used as weapons, she tried to catch some escaped vegetables only to be brought to tears by some onions. Aqua also squabbled with Darkness who tried to take her sweet potato chips, something the goddess was only willing to share if the Crusader of Eris converted to the Axis Order, though on top of the offer being refused she was also criticised by Darkness for her untidiness, before waking up the following morning to see her preparing breakfast in a noblewoman's dress that could make people mistake Darkness to actually be one.

Clawed at again by Chomusuke who also did the same to Chris during one of the Thief's visits to the party's mansion, the goddess afterwards volunteered to take Megumin on her daily routine, in the process of which she messed up and attracted monsters, before being gobbled up by Giant Toads attracted by Megumin's Explosion, thus subsequent to being rescued by other adventurers she tearfully carried an equally slimy Megumin back to the mansion.

Wearing her usual outfit which was a goddess' "formal attire", Aqua at dusk of the following day accompanied Kazuma and Megumin to dine at a high-end restaurant filled with nobles, then began quarreling with the staff barring her entry until Darkness emerged from inside to berate them. Anyhow granted entry to the nobles' banquet by other nobles, the Arch Priest promising to take away only one bottle of wine was told that there were rumours about contraband food ingredients being used. Accordingly surprised when Chris arrived dressed like a handsome young man, Aqua soon engrossed himself in drawing away the other nobles' attention by feasting on the offered gourmet, before attracting all eyes by performing magic tricks.

Surprised on the next day to hear Darkness having grabbed a caged Fairy she had found inside the restaurant's kitchen back to the party's mansion, the Goddess of Water offered to grant forgiveness to the Crusader now feeling guilty for committing theft, though once again her proclamation of divinity wasn't believed. Then when visited by the hosting noblewoman who proclaimed the Fairy as one of her chefs, Aqua querying over how would a Fairy be able to cook helped expose the exploitation of the creature legally considered a child. While Healing Darkness' legs which became numb from kneeling in apology, the Arch Priest listened to her articulate how she had first met Chris.

After the slimy Yunyun and Megumin returned one day alongside Kazuma, Aqua meticulously laid newspapers on the floor and gave instructions on how to handle their clothing which were drenched in frog slime, then convinced the bashful Yunyun to stay and bathe, though the goddess determining the overwhelming majority of the blame going to Megumin earned her a slimy hug from her Arch Wizard.

Cursed Relic Arc

When following Kazuma on a request by Lundberg to investigate an ancient relic discovered at the research facility beneath his mansion, Aqua tried to randomly press the buttons on it, and upon Kazuma stopping her punched the relic instead, only to set off a defence response in the form of Level Drain, which reduced the party as well as the accompanying Yunyun, Chris, and Mitsurugi to Level 1 rookies with no Skills. Managing to escape being buried alive as a result of Megumin's Explosion, Aqua attended the ensuing trial where Kazuma was charged with treason by Sena, then tagged along to the meeting with Lundberg for discussing the terms of pardon, where she had her hagoromo confiscated as part of Kazuma's bail terms. As a result, Aqua impatiently pestered Rav as he tried explaining to the party what was needed for repairing the relic before Darkness dragged her outside, then later had to give up all her money and advanced equipment to pay for the damages on Lundberg's estate.

Taking the old road to the ruins where even monsters roaming there now proved a challenge, the party reached the neighbourhood ruins, at the entrance to which they recalled how their adventures with the magical stones began when Aqua picked up a shard of them there.

Upon the party entering the underground sewers running beneath the ruins, Aqua initially wanted to leave due to having a bad feeling about the place, though she had to follow on when Kazuma walked ahead as a Giant Toad stalked her. She soon hollered when the party reached a junction blocked by masses of Giant Toads, during which she was gobbled up and ended up all slimy again. After the party's retreat back to Axel, Aqua cleaned herself up in the mansion's bathroom while forcing Kazuma to wash himself up in the yard. Returning to the underground sewers to position the Frogicide purchased from Vanir, Aqua had to help fight the Giant Toads trying to obstruct them. Later at the storeroom where the pipe for repairing the relic was stored, Aqua fell into panic when a Giant King Toad appeared, and despite the party managing to defeat it, she still got eaten near the end of the battle much to her misery.

As the party walked along the highway to the city of water, Aqua was initially hesitant at returning to Arcanletia to look for the relic's replacement part in fear of its residents still resentful at her ruining their hot springs, though Kazuma assured her that it'll be all fine.

Following the party's reunion with Chris who had been scouting out the city beforehand, Aqua herself was surprised when Chris showed the party an Axis follower calling on the "power of Aqua" to split the waters of the lake in half and reveal an underwater temple that she at first had no recollection about, then pretended not to hear some other Axis follower gossiping about the phenomenon occurring automatically even without the performance. As the party in their search for the replacement part entered the temple clearly built for worshipping Aqua but now reduced to a dungeon, the said goddess expressed distress at some statues of her being vandalised, before getting her face hugged by Lake Squids in a courtyard along with Kazuma. Later when the party reached a flooded hall in the inner sanctum, Aqua who grumbled about the squids infesting her temple provided the girls with swimsuits so they could dive in to search. She was accordingly aggravated once a Kraken surfaced while hugging a statue of her, then got further displeased when at Kazuma's direction she appealed herself to the Kraken so Kazuma could free the captured Darkness and Chris, only for the monster to shrink away in disappointment before returning to hugging the statue. Aqua proceeded to help defeat the Kraken after the water was emptied from the hall to leave it weakened, though she got squashed under its body when it collapsed on top of her upon defeat, then while being pulled out she grabbed from her statue the Magical Stone of Water which was needed for repairing the relic. As a result of the squashing, Aqua finally recalled how her followers long ago had been breeding Lake Squids and Kraken in the lake for grilling and selling to tourists, though the business ended after the lake's water level rose to submerge the temple where all the squids hid themselves into. After waking late from a night of performing upon their return to Axel, Aqua was forced by Kazuma to meet Rav, who briefed them about the next replacement part possibly located at the Crimson Demon Village.

Later as the party walked the trail to the Crimson Demon Village, Aqua also helped the others cheer up Megumin. Reuniting with Yunyun and explaining their situation to Arue, Funifura, and Dodonko when the party reached the village afterwards, Aqua joined the others in asking around about the controller slate needed for repairing the relic, though it wasn't before she later performed tricks to Komekko at Megumin's home did they discover that the little girl had found it first.

Aqua became part of the support team to make Komekko impressed by Megumin's Explosion so she would hand over the controller slate, though after repeated attempts outside the village failed, she had to follow Kazuma on investigating a decayed fort, from which flew a Mecha Owl Monster that attacked them. As the party returned to the fort the next day with Komekko in tow so she could see how cool Megumin is, Aqua's shiny headpiece became a beacon for attracting the Mecha Owl Monsters they were trying the rid the source of, and despite her turning distressed over being bait, the party successfully tracked the constructs to a secured building in the middle of the fort.

After the party descended into the facility ruins beneath the fort and fought to get past a door locked by a gamer code, they reached the deepest part of the facility, where Aqua discovered a control terminal from which Kazuma reviewed the facility's logs. She and Megumin then tried to push a big red panic button on the wall while Kazuma tried to stop them, giving Komekko the opening to push it and cause the activation of the Mage-Killer Prototype. Kazuma promptly took her advice and led the party's retreat, though she was shocked midway when he instead shut the door they had exited through onto the Mage-Killer Prototype to trap its tail section before leading the party to battle the head section. Although the party managed to beat the construct down, Aqua as she cheerily approached its prone form stimulated it back into activity, and had to flee with the others out into the forest with it hot on their heels, before she and Darkness got caught in the Explosion casted by Megumin that destroyed the Mage-Killer Prototype and impressed Komekko.

Like the rest of her party when they headed over to search for the next replacement part, Aqua found out the hard way that Luna's warning about the snowfield forest turning lethally cold due to the overabundance of Snow Sprites was true after her eyelashes froze over. Recuperated following their return to Axel, she headed back there once Kazuma bought the whole party Hot Rings to ward off the deadly cold. Later as the party discovered the path leading up to a mountain of ice and reunited with Mitsurugi, Aqua upon him offering up his superior Heat Ring only to have Kazuma stop him tussled to take Mitsurugi's offer, which resulted in her slipping and sliding deeper into the ice cavern, so subsequent to her being recovered the whole party decided to head back to Axel for preparations.

Upon returning to the ice mountain with Mitsurugi being the guide, Aqua again slipped and slid out of the party to end up further ahead, where the party had to go collect her. Later she discovered the remains of an adventurer, from whose notebook the party uncovered the key for proceeding. When the party reached the end of the dungeon only find the way back blocked by a gigantic Big Snow Sprite, Aqua by playing a game of burning the Snow Sprites out of it using the Salamander caught by Megumin, gave Kazuma the idea of burning so many Snow Sprites out of the Big Snow Sprite that it shrank into a size the party could defeat and claim the Eternal Ice Crystal within for repairing the relic. After they fled from the wrathful Winter Shogun all the way back to Axel where the final replacement part was presented to Rav, Aqua gorged herself on the cuisines Lundberg invited the party and Sena to enjoy.

Following the completion of repairs on the relic, Lundberg's proclamation of treason, Wallavy's release as well as subsequent departure, and Rav's betrayal plus escape, Aqua openly laughed at Lundberg who was left to simmer in awkward rage, which helped push him into attempting to silence her and the others with a Manatite Golem.

The next day, Aqua's joy at them finally cleared of treason charges was marred when Megumin reminded her that her hagoromo was still missing, prompting her to frantically petition Sena to look for it in Lundberg's locked down mansion. Returning to the mansion without luck, she was further incensed when she smelled that Vanir had been there and saw that Wiz was told to help the party track down Wallavy, who had headed towards the Temple of Everlasting Summer. Aqua proceeded to compete with Wiz on defeating a Green Lizard Runner upon their arrival, as well as throw insults at her during their trip through the temple.

When the party reached the oasis adjacent to the temple, at Aqua's insistence they all took a break, during which the girls splashed around in the water wearing new swimsuits. Soon afterwards she got sickened by the sight of an evolved Wallavy regurgitating the monsters it had drained, and had to fight it before fleeing when it regenerated. Several days later as the Guild discussed the mysterious Wallavy and asked for more information on it, Aqua wanted to provide what the party knew in exchange for a reward, only to be stopped by Kazuma because it could get them who had helped release Wallavy into trouble. Subsequently receiving permission to enter Lundberg's mansion, Aqua still couldn't find her hagoromo despite ransacking the place, and so later took it out on Wiz.

With the party searching the Great Tree Labyrinth for Rav at Vanir's advice, Aqua upon their way being blocked by a cluster of thick branches suggested they use weedkiller, although soon after using the specially formulated weedkiller from Wiz, she faced a nasty surprise in the form of the Ironwood Treant that marked out its turf with the branches. The party accordingly defeated the monster and headed to the deepest part of the labyrinth, where Aqua got tripped over by a root that moved, followed by them having to fight the Wallavy evolved to its second form who had been directed there by Rav, as well as the Guardian of the Great Tree which attacked them upon awakening.

As her party members worried about their future back at the Guild in face of Wallavy's unstoppable growth, Aqua while scouring the diary of the Head Researcher found among Rav's possessions at Lundberg's mansion that Kazuma had read, discovered a hidden page talking about a counter weapon against Wallavy being hidden in the Magic-Sealer Cave. She was promptly forced by Kazuma to make for the deepest part of the cave, on the way to which the party had to defeat Giant Spiders and an Arachne on the way down, followed by the Big Crystal guarding the counter weapon, during which Aqua had to fight while unable to use magic. Then upon them racing back to Axel, she tried stopping a giant Wallavy who was advancing on the city though to no avail, and had flee alongside Kazuma when fire magic failed to defeat the warabi mochi, before having to do battle until Wiz got Wallavy frozen. Although she was afterwards unable to stop the shocked Rav from fleeing, Aqua was still rewarded with free bubbly by the Guild.

Several days following the giant Wallavy's defeat, Aqua was busy with losing at a Young Grandchild game against Megumin, when Sena burst into their mansion to notify them about small monsters looking like Wallavy popping up all over, so she had to join the party in heading to various dungeons and defeating all the small Wallavies they found.

Taking part in the party's journey into the Bottomless Labyrinth from which the small Wallavies had emerged from, Aqua during the middle of their trek prodded at the inert Guardian Sword Rav had stationed in their path, causing it to activate before taking her prisoner, and forced the others to fight the Golem without her. After Kazuma pulled the confiscated Gram out of the destroyed Golem, Aqua suspecting Rav of secreting her hagoromo away angrily charged onwards. She eventually discovered the mad scientist at his hideout, where the party listened to him recount how Wallavy had survived the prior battle as well as evolved. Snapped out of her shock from seeing a Wallavy bigger than ever on the move outside when Rav was about to escape, Aqua got told that placed inside Guardian Cross was her hagoromo, which she rejoiced at retrieving once the Golem was scuttled, despite the gloomy mood of the others over the threat of Wallavy.

When the party headed for the ancient ruins above the underground research facility as they followed the lead of Rav's whereabouts provided by Lundberg, Aqua quickly found herself pursued by the Titan Golem Type 2 stationed on guard before the party defeated it. Making it down to the deepest part of the facility where the magical stone had previously been found, Aqua discovered a hidden door when she fell down a ladder shaft leading to a secret section.

Aqua quit whining about her fall after Kazuma soothed her, following which the party pushed into the laboratory Rav was busing working in. She like Kazuma later discovered something wrong when Rav told them a misinterpreted understanding of the Head Researcher's diary, so subsequent to defeating the small bits of Wallavy that the mad scientist had modified to grow spines, Aqua proved the revelation Kazuma told Rav regarding Wallavy actually being warabi mochi by eating the defeated modified Wallavies. After they all raced back to Axel, Aqua headed towards the post Kazuma had assigned her to for fending against the approaching Wallavy who had grown into supergiant proportions.

At some point during the period, Aqua when returning to Axel with Kazuma were asked by Luna to go on an emergency collection quest, but the both of them ended up lost and starving in the forest, forcing them to butcher and eat a Giant Rat before being able to find their way back, something which they both agreed to keep a secret. Yet having discovered that Giant Rats tasted surprisingly good, the two of them soon went hunting for more, and accordingly got the idea of opening a food stand called the "Goddess Canteen" for selling grilled Giant Rat on skewers. Business soon flourished despite the nature of the meat being kept hidden, and prompted Aqua to plan for expanding their business to other cities. Unfortunately, one day when heading into the forest to hunt for more, the alpha of the Giant Rats showed up to avenge its kin, and chased the fleeing pair all the way to their food stand which it smashed. Then as their repeating customers crowded around, Aqua in a slip of tongue revealed to their disgust that they had been eating rat meat all the time, which doomed their business to an end. However, because Aqua had already signed contracts to expand the business, they had to use all their earnings to pay for those bills.

As other magic users along the roadside worked on trapping the advancing Wallavy in place before it could get any closer to Axel, Aqua who had helped lure Wallavy into the trap and the other remaining members joined Kazuma to fight the supergiant warabi mochi in order to keep it from freeing itself. Following Wallavy's core surviving Megumin's Explosion thanks to Rav having inserted it inside the relic for its protection and Wallavy subsequently evolving into a mutated form, Aqua joined all the other companions who they had adventured with to make their final battle against the supergiant mutant Wallavy had transformed into. When they damaged Wallavy so much that it started splitting out the small clones of itself, Aqua followed Kazuma through the path their companions opened up for them, before she punched out the relic with God Blow so Kazuma could destroy the defenceless core. After Wallavy stopped all its activity as a result, Aqua while the others cheered their victory borrowed Darkness' sword and started cutting up the inert body of Wallavy.

Several days later, when all the adventurers who had fought in the battle were drinking at the Guild in celebration, Aqua brought out all the delicious warabi mochi she had cut out from Wallavy for everybody to feast on.

Late Spring Arc

In the anime, Aqua after repeated attempts to coerce Kazuma into the Axis Order failed accompanied him on his trek towards a temple that he wanted to become a monk at, thinking that the NEET would give up on it anyways (and it was during the journey when the campout where Kazuma recalled his past and the Tranquility Girl encounter occurred). She was afterwards overjoyed upon discovering that the Uchide no Kozuchi picked up by Kazuma who had changed his mind could conjure out gold coins, and despite him later losing it, still felt relieved at the shut-in NEET reverted to his usual self.

Initially trying to chase off Hagen when he came delivering a letter to the mansion in fear of him heralding more trouble, Aqua once hearing about the letter being from Princess Iris who asked for a dinner meeting with Kazuma, became elated at her time for ascension finally arriving. The goddess proceeded to spend the following few days playing with the gaming consoles, and also went spraying holy water on the doorknob of Wiz's Shop, where on one day she visited alongside Megumin to see the Japanese products designed by Kazuma being sold, though unlike the other girls she was requested to pay for the goods. Aqua thus blurted out how the NEET had secretly sniffed the girls' clothing, before performing tricks for attracting customers as payment, which did indeed draw crowds of people to the storefront, despite this getting her into conflict with Vanir.

Subsequent to practicing how to pretend picking up Kazuma's dropped Adventurer Card before yelling out his exploits for all to hear, Aqua and the others got chided by Darkness for their idiocy, though they then managed to cajole her with flattery. Later at the Guild, Aqua proclaimed herself to be an "S Class Arch Priest" similar to what Kazuma and Megumin did, yet a couple of days afterwards, she had to join her party as well as other adventurers out into the mountains for facing against Shuten and her tribe of Ogres. Following Kazuma's capture and the adventurers being forced to hold a three-round contest against Shuten, Aqua was selected to compete in the first round that was a drinking contest. But despite having an advantage in her ability to purify alcohol, Aqua chose to get herself drunk on the rare spirit Ogre Killer, causing the adventurers to lose the first round. She eventually got woken up by Darkness during the third round, when the adventurers and Ogres became friends.

On the day of the meeting with Iris at the Dustiness manor, Aqua whose proposal of performing tricks for the princess such as conjuring a tiger was vetoed tried borrowing a dress from Darkness, yet had to have special adjustments made because even the muscular Crusader's dresses didn't fit her bodyline. Upon meeting Iris and her escorts at the dining room, the goddess was promptly dragged to a corner by Darkness when trying to perform, though Aqua still managed to create a sand portrait of the princess while the heiress was distracted, and was gifted a gem by the impressed Iris as a result. She soon became exasperated at Kazuma's blown-up accounts of his exploits as an adventurer in addition to achievements during his life in Japan, and demanded more wine instead of performing more tricks when Megumin began requesting. Aqua proceeded to fall into drunken sleep after Healing the injury Darkness had suffered from Claire's sword slash, before waking up to see the princess and her retinue off, only to be shocked when Iris pulled Kazuma into Rain's Teleportation and kidnapped him away.

Helping Darkness calm the panicked Megumin down, Aqua as she waited for Kazuma's return over the following three days found herself unable to sleep, something she tried to cover up by trying to surpass Kazuma's score on the Game Girl Color, while in the meantime also trashing Kazuma's room out of boredom. Yet after six days had passed, she and the other girls became convinced that Kazuma must have decided to remain at the royal castle for the extravagant lifestyle there, thus hoping to stay at a castle too, Aqua agreed to head over and drag him back. The three girls soon after arrival were shown the way to Kazuma's room, where he was reciting the lines for sexually harassing his maid until the scum saw that it was them who came. Then at the farewell banquet to Kazuma that Iris held that night, Aqua busily stuffed herself with all sorts of delicious gourmet on a serving table she had dragged to the cocktail bar, before engaging in gossip with some noblewomen.

Because of Kazuma boasting at the banquet about how he would catch a noble thief recently targeting crooked nobles all over the royal capital, and consequently charged by Claire to stand vigil over the residence of the next noble possibly targeted, Aqua did him a favour by joining in the stake out at the capital manor of Alderp, who leered at her beautiful body. She went ahead to take over the bedroom closest to the dining room as per Alderp's offer to let them stay as long as they want, then at the subsequent party meeting where Kazuma expressed his dislike of the noble thief being a handsome guy, comforted the self-pitying NEET with a teaching from the Axis Order.

Aqua proceeded to spend the ensuing days preaching the Axis Order in an attempt to counter the Eris Order's influence at the Royal Capital, and by the end of the week drank up Alderp's wine collection (in addition to making drunkards out of the maids as well in the anime). Late one night, however, she and the other girls hearing noises rushed into the kitchen, where they found a Binded Kazuma who reportedly ran into the powerful and masked thief. Finding an opportunity in his moment of vulnerability, Aqua began confessing all sorts of misdeeds she had committed on him, which Kazuma was forced to forgive in hopes that she will free him.

After the party's report to Iris about the incident ended with Claire declaring Kazuma kicked out of the castle for his failure to capture the thief, at him agreeing on returning to Axel, Aqua asked to depart the following day while having Kazuma accompany her on souvenir shopping. Finding the royal capital's bubbly not as good as those sold by Michael, she tried attacking Kazuma when he consequently confessed how he and Darkness had one time secretly ate up a cut of meat gifted to her by her butcher friend. Next approached by Mitsurugi, whom she couldn't remember until Kazuma reminded her of the cursed sword, she was gifted by the Swordmaster a ring, though having found that it was too small for her finger, Aqua performed a trick to make it disappear. As gratitude for the ring, she gifted Mitsurugi a model of Eris folded out of napkins, yet on the way back to their inn, Aqua lost to Kazuma the rock-paper-scissors contest for determining what dinner would be.

Wakened from her sleep late at night by an alarm signaling an attack by the Devil King's Army, Aqua cowardly refused Darkness' demand to aid the defenders, but was nevertheless dragged screaming towards the battlefield by an eager Kazuma. Failing to dissuade him from joining the battle, the goddess soon got bitten on by a Kobold until Kazuma shot it down, so shamed by him taunting her over the humiliation, Aqua furiously unleashed her godly attacks on the other minions of the Devil King. She eventually had the last laugh as the battle leaned towards a Belzerg victory, because it turned out that Kazuma got gang-bashed to death by a mob of Kobolds and had to have his body reclaimed by her, which Aqua tied down with weights to make sure it wouldn't be taken away by monsters. Later flaunting her miraculous Heal and Resurrection spells on the wounded and fallen defenders, who repaid the favour with loads of wine, Aqua proceeded to taunted Kazuma over his humiliating death while leaving the weakling among the last batch of dead to bring back. Spending the rest of the day trying to sway those people she had fixed into the Axis Order, and accepting a bottle of rare wine as reward for her efforts in the battle, Aqua during the victory banquet that night chided Kazuma over him using a magical necklace earlier on to temporarily switch bodies with Iris and abusing the princess' status until the gig was discovered.

She and her party members sans Kazuma then proceeded to stay in the royal castle as guests of honour for their battlefield valour, but got woken late in the night by an alarm signaling of intruders. Sent to Iris' bedroom on the top floor alongside Darkness and Megumin as the final line of defense against the unstoppable intruders racing upstairs, the Arch Priest cast Sacred Break Spell to free Darkness when she got Binded by a masked member of the Silver-Haired Thief Gang. Next goading Darkness into capturing the pair of thieves so that she can be rewarded with more wine, Aqua then disappointedly chided her for clumsiness because the Crusader yelled out the nature of her attack beforehand and allowed the thieves to slip past them into the bedroom. Subsequently witnessing Iris getting the divine necklace she was wearing Stolen off her by the pair, even though Aqua wasn't sure what they were going to do with it, for safety's sake she unleashed her divine sealing power on the cheat item as the thieves escaped with it.

While Darkness excused herself from the castle at daybreak, Aqua explained to Megumin, Iris, and her retainers how that necklace she had sealed the powers of was extremely dangerous, because its effects could become permanent if one person dies during the body switch and might be abused by those with malicious intent. Soon after Darkness returned with Kazuma, the goddess noticed him grinning upon hearing Megumin, Claire, and Rain heap acclaim on the masked thief.

Later Teleported by Rain back to the party's mansion, Aqua trying to keep her gifted wine from Kazuma was persuaded into a drinking contest with Michael's wine. As she waited for Megumin to return from wine shopping, the artful goddess noticed a ring taken out by Kazuma, and so offered to perform a trick with it, only to be vehemently refused.

Arguing with Megumin one day when accused by the Crimson Demon of drinking her bottle of wine, Aqua insisted on Anna who was floating in the room's corner being the culprit, and upon being doubted cast Eyes of Providence on Kazuma to let him see the Ghost, only to be made a fool because Anna had already left the scene. Subsequently irritated due to the pair spending the whole night outside at a place smelling of booze before returning home to sleep till dusk, she demanded them take her there too. Soon hearing from the Werewolf owner of the said pub catering for Beastmen about its sign which was magically cloaked from regular human sight, the goddess happily revealed herself as the patron deity of the Axis Order. Next faced with Darkness leading a knight raid on the establishment, Aqua Created Water so Kazuma could Freeze the door shut in order to prevent the Crusader from barging in, and accordingly promised the fleeing owner and other patrons how in the case they manage to escape and reopen the pub, then she will cast around it a magic barrier unbreakable by humans. Arrested following her failed resistance against Darkness after she broke inside, the goddess still got off on a light misdemeanour, thus as promised she helped the Werewolf owner set a powerful magic barrier around the reopened pub "Monster's Night".

Early Summer Arc

After Kazuma was summoned by the Guild, Aqua betted on him having committed some heinous crime and even packed her bags in preparation for fleeing, though when heading to the Guild with the other girls, she discovered him basking in celebrations from receiving the stupendous rewards for defeating Sylvia. Despite initially offered some bubbly by Kazuma, the goddess soon got dragged outside for having doubted him. Anyhow getting her share of the rewards, Aqua during the ensuing week went alongside Kazuma to various high-end restaurants, where they acted like they were rich gourmet experts even though they kept making wrong guesses. And on a day when she was the only one left in the mansion, a salesman came offering her a Dragon's egg sold at a discount, which she quickly purchased with all her reward money. Naming the Dragon "Emperor Zel" in advance, Aqua began warming the egg and pouring magical powers into it, in hopes that her Dragon will grow into one powerful enough for defeating the Devil King.

When she returned to the mansion from lunch with Kazuma a week later, the pair was greeted by the sight of Megumin seducing with ice a Darkness wrapped in quilts, so offering them the Axis Order's blessings for homosexual love, Aqua prepared to spend the night outside, until Megumin frantically clarified how she was simply helping Darkness train for a heat endurance contest. Aqua afterwards proudly showed Kazuma and Megumin the Dragon's egg she was warming up, which several days later she was forced to let Megumin take care of because Kazuma insisted on her accompanying him and Darkness to see Vanir. Following a quarrel with the shop employee at the storefront, Aqua patiently listened to him give a cryptic prophecy of the calamity soon to befall Darkness' father and household as well as her futile sacrifice in an attempt to forestall it. Subsequent to Darkness' departure, however, the goddess challenged Vanir to foretell Emperor Zel's future in addition to ways for her to make money, and sneered at the All-Seeing Demon when he cited the limits to his powers. Next piqued by his retort about a "teriyaki chicken" hatching from her Dragon's egg, Aqua retaliated with a prophecy foretelling Vanir's hard-earned money being wasted by Wiz, which cumulated in another fight between them.

Aqua proceeded to spend the ensuing days taking care of the Dragon's egg non-stop, even having her party members feed her during mealtimes, and the night when Darkness had to follow a servant of House Alexei out at dinnertime provided Aqua the opportunity to eat up the Crusader's hamburger. She on the following day took Megumin out shopping for a dragon collar, yet upon return discovered to her horror that Kazuma had agreed to help Darkness hunt the Kowloon Hydra. Forcibly dragged towards the lake where their target slept while her screaming protests against the quest were ignored by the others, Aqua finally had Kazuma's attention once she objected leaving Emperor Zel's egg in the care of Wiz, though he simply dismissed her worries based on the egg only going to hatch out a chicken. She anyhow jumped into the murky lake for purifying it, and subsequent to some frolicking fell asleep as she floated on the surface, but soon got woken by Kazuma who warned her of the Kowloon Hydra ascending straight for her.

Managing to flee from the Kowloon Hydra and onto safe grounds soon after Kazuma was eaten, Aqua following Darkness recovering his partially dissolved body had him Resurrected even though three-tenths of it was missing, before complaining about the stinking slime covering his naked form. She and Megumin subsequently went to make a report at the Guild, but on the way purified the water tanks of a fishmonger and ended up killing the sea fishes within, forcing her to engage in a flurry of apologies until Kazuma arrived.

Proceeding to stay at the mansion during the ensuing week of rain for warming Emperor Zel's egg while singing to it, Aqua soon had to help stand vigil outside Darkness' room after Kazuma forbade her from daily challenging the Hydra, yet dozed off out of exhaustion from all the efforts to hatch her Dragon, which nearly maddened Kazuma into breaking its egg. Aqua anyhow offered to leave the egg in the care of Wiz's Shop so she could go alongside Megumin for bringing Darkness back, and found the Crusader limping from another failed challenge sporting serious injuries, which the Arch Priest Healed before chiding her on the whole return trip.

She on the next day accompanied Darkness to the lake where Kazuma and the adventurers he had recruited were waiting, then promptly jumped into the lake so she could go back to Emperor Zel sooner, only to panickedly swim back ashore because the Hydra woke up earlier than usual. Told by Kazuma to stand aside during the duration of the battle following her casting of Support Magic on Darkness, Aqua Resurrected Dust the only casualty of the battle following the vanquishing of the Kowloon Hydra. Later drawing a water portrait of the Kowloon Hydra back at the Guild, she was approached by Dust expressing his gratitude, so the goddess began pestering him for more until the delinquent shoved her back to Kazuma.

Aqua and her party sans Darkness on the following day went to claim their rewards at the Guild, then returned home to warm her egg while waiting for Kazuma and Megumin to cook a crab dinner, which she was requested to hold off from eating until Darkness returned from reporting the Hydra's vanquishing to Alderp. Proceeding to discuss ways of punishing their Crusader after she still didn't return by daybreak, and heading to the Dustiness manor looking for Darkness only to have the guards turn them back, after several days Aqua also read the letter from the heiress that declared her resignation from the party. The goddess accordingly distracted herself with warming her egg in addition to teasing Kazuma about missing Darkness while he was making prototypes of dynamite, though she quickly apologised once he took away the egg.

After Kazuma returned from an outing with the alarming news about Darkness' imminent marriage to Alderp, Aqua was talked into helping him slip into the Dustiness manor for questioning Darkness over the matter. Accompanying Kazuma in the middle of the night to outside the manor's wall, she cast a variety of Support Magic to boost his stats before leaving, though he smacked her for casting Versatile Entertainer. Hours later, Aqua had to Heal Kazuma when he staggered back to the mansion covered in injuries, then heard him explain how Darkness was forced to marry Alderp for paying off her family's debt to the governor.

Continuing with warming her egg while singing, only to incur the ire of the frustrated Kazuma, Aqua went performing tricks in front of the Dustiness manor hoping to draw Darkness out, until Kazuma came to drag her back. Finally on the morning of the day Darkness was going to be married off, the Arch Priest was paid a visit by Hagen who asked her to dress up as the priest holding the wedding ceremony in order to ruin it and save the heiress. Aqua next disintegrated Vanir's body upon seeing him paying a visit to the mansion too, though subsequent to some bickering with the Archdemon, she was forced by Kazuma into listening to Vanir explain about how House Dustiness sold off nearly all their assets to help the party pay most of the reparations after Aqua flooded Axel during the battle against Beldia, followed by the story of how Darkness, trying to help farmers whose livelihoods were destroyed by the Destroyer, borrowed an enormous fortune from Alderp which now forced her into repaying by marrying the governor.

After Kazuma came up with the 2 billion eris needed to pay off the debt, Aqua buffed him before they covered themselves in hoods and laid in wait at the church of Eris where the wedding ceremony was to be held. Once Hagen escorted Darkness towards the altar that Alderp was waiting at, the Arch Priest spoke blessings for the wedding which actually ridiculed the governor and asked for the Crusader to return with them. Subsequent to Kazuma scattering the 2 billion eris and snatching up Darkness, Aqua quipped at his declaration of purchasing the heiress, then chased after him as they ran out the church door that Yunyun had cut open, and picked Megumin up following her Explosion above the church to make a clean getaway while Alderp's guards were beaten up by other adventurers.

Accompanying Darkness back to her family home, Aqua for the first time in ages got to take a look at the dying Ignis, whom she immediately identified to be afflicted with a mighty curse from a dark demonic power that was extinguishing his health. She thus stayed behind as Ignis proceed to hold his last conversation with Darkness, then when he got to the part about wishing to tell his daughter more about her late mother, Broke the death curse laid upon him by Maxwell, which brought Ignis back from the brink of death and allowed him more time to talk about Darkness' mother.

Aqua later on returned to the mansion with Kazuma and Megumin, where they packed their bags in preparation to flee once Alderp sends his private army at them as revenge, only to unexpectedly hear from Darkness on the following morning about the governor disappearing without a trace and evidence of his numerous crimes suddenly surfacing. She next told Megumin how Kazuma had purchased in the church Darkness who was hesitant with entering their mansion, and declared her belief that Vanir was the one who cast the death curse. Then once hearing from Darkness how the kingdom was going to repay Kazuma the billions of eris he had paid in relation to reparations of collateral damage caused during the battles against Beldia and the Destroyer, the Arch Priest began kissing up to the future billionaire.

Accordingly welcoming the apprehensive Darkness back into their party, Aqua teased Kazuma again over his purchase of the Crusader, before attempting to strangle him in disgust once Darkness revealed how Kazuma nearly crossed the line on the night he sneaked into the Dustiness manor, though Kazuma's clarification about Darkness being the one who offered up her virginity made the Arch Priest change her opinion. Aqua was subsequently asked by Kazuma regarding Belzerg's marital system, and so explained how the couple will on the morning of the marriage sign the official documents, before holding to the wedding ceremony in the afternoon. Suddenly realising that Darkness on paper was actually a married woman who got dumped by her legally wedded husband on the first night, Aqua tried to soothe their Crusader though to no avail.

At some point during the period, Aqua was playing a boardgame with Megumin that wagered their dinner, yet while contemplating her opponent's despicableness and ways to cheat after Kazuma dropped a hat onto her head, she was suddenly attacked by Megumin who called her out for what she had been thinking, and was reduced to eating flavoured rice until Kazuma out of pity cooked her something extra.

Finding at the Guild one day a recruitment notice from Dust whom she had trouble remembering, the Arch Priest tired of Kazuma shutting himself up ever since getting rich from the returned reparations, but rejected from team-ups with other parties herself, headed towards the front of a general store where the delinquent and Rin had set up their desk, only to be told by Dust that they had already recruited enough members despite Darkness and Megumin saying otherwise. She anyhow confidently boasted of her abilities to tackle Goblins, yet upon hearing Dust inform her of Vanir going on the quest too, the disgusted goddess promptly stormed off.

Sipping free tea at Wiz's Shop some other day when only Vanir and Yunyun were around, Aqua expressed indignation at the Archdemon's slight sent her way upon Dust inviting him on a trip to Arcanletia, and outright turned murderous once Vanir insulted her followers as well. She then forgot all about it though because Dust talked of Kazuma looking around for her, so fearing that he had found out about her secretly using his jersey as a cleaning rag, the goddess quickly hurried home. A few days later, she joined her party in a party at the Guild that Dust's party treated everybody to, where Aqua again entertained people with her party tricks.

Mid Summer Arc

The goddess soon afterwards had Wiz bring Vanir to the party's mansion, where she tied the Archdemon up, and accused him of cursing Ignis while clutching Emperor Zel's egg. Convinced of the Archdemon's guilt after he made vague claims regarding his innocence, Aqua with Wiz's help held him down so that Darkness could attack Vanir's mask. She was abruptly assaulted by the masked fiend, forcing her to Reflect his Murder Ray which ended up striking Darkness down. Aqua thus retaliated with Purification Magic, only to hit Wiz whom the Archdemon used as a meat shield.

Just as the goddess prepared to vanquish Vanir once and for all, she was devastated when Emperor Zel finally hatched but instead chose Vanir to be his parent. Rebuking Kazuma for suggesting they fry the "chick", Aqua declared her Dragon needing elite upbringing free of the Archdemon's taint, then begged for the NEET to rescue Emperor Zel from being cuckolded away by Vanir, until the Archdemon split out a replica shell on the couch to serve as the hatchling's bed. She during breakfast on the following morning discussed with Kazuma and Megumin regarding Chomusuke being cowed by Emperor Zel's magical power, though the conclusion about the Dragon unable to become a powerful combatant against the Devil King's Army as well as the others suggesting eating him respectively disappointed and horrified the goddess. When the said pair accordingly chided Darkness for erasing her marriage records with Alderp, Aqua stepped to the heiress' defence by listing her cute deeds, only for Darkness to hysterically silence her.

After Chris during an ensuing visit publicised her mission of retrieving lost Divine Items scattered around the world, the goddess declined giving assistance because she has a duty of giving her newborn Dragon parental care out of harm's way. While getting pecked by the Emperor Zel whom she tried petting, Aqua next declared her intention of replacing the upcoming Eris Appreciation Festival with an "Aqua Appreciation Festival", since she always had to help her cheeky junior out of fixes and thus was more deserving of appreciation. Accordingly arguing with the Eris-worshipping Darkness, the Goddess of Water next managed to obtain the assistance of Megumin and Chris but not Kazuma's.

Although Aqua planned to petition her followers into lending a hand, she still felt uneasy over actively asking for them to hold a festival that praises herself, therefore went seeking Kazuma on the following morning so he can make the suggestion in her place. Feeling envious at the makeshift air conditioning he had set up for his bedroom using water basins, the goddess forced the reluctant NEET into accompanying by threatening to pour a basin's contents all over him. While approaching the rundown structure acting as the local church of the Axis Order, Aqua assured Kazuma how her followers were all good children, only to be shocked to listen in on Megumin inside being tempted by somebody to try out a banned powder that was very addictive. She thus tagged behind Kazuma as he burst in, before furiously striking down a man who was the powder's provider, though the goddess spared Cecily because the Priest was one of her followers. After Cecily confessed possession of the substance that turned out to be Gelatinous Slime used for snacks, Aqua citing the teachings of the Axis Order granted her forgiveness.

Following further teachings to her follower, the goddess was delighted at Cecily pledging servitude to her. At Aqua's prompting, Kazuma next brought up the subject of the Eris Appreciation Festival, and became further elated when Cecily suggested for her to drink wine while watching them attack the Eris followers, after which she saw the others off as they went negotiating with the shopping district. Later at the mansion where she laid Megumin down subsequent to her daily routine, Aqua badly needing the remaining working toilet found it occupied by a sulking Darkness, though thanks to Kazuma's ploy they managed to force the acting governor out. The goddess afterwards heard during dinner about Kazuma obtaining permission for two simultaneous festivals from the shopping district's festival committee, thus she busied herself in the remaining days by helping out with her festival's preparations.

Aqua one day went dining at the Guild with her party, yet the offhand mention of the riverhead lake by the nearby Luna revived memories of its purification and sent her into a panic attack, which in the end did not wash away her incentive for drinking with her party on the premises following Megumin's daily routine.

When the time came for eliminating the masses of summer monsters so that people could hold the festival in peace, Aqua on the first day of the operation woke Kazuma up early in the morning and led the party to the Guild for taking the quests, then explained to the clueless Japanese reincarnate how the Cicadas in this world chirp loudly day and night over the span of a month. Somehow making Kazuma weep when later in the forest she warned her party members against getting carried away, the Archpriest accordingly Healed the adventurers wounded by charging Stag Beetles. Escaping relatively unscathed after Megumin's Explosion on the wave of insects at close range blew many adventurers down too, Aqua dutifully ran around Healing the injured, though she recoiled from Darkness upon seeing her covered by crawling ants. Subsequently forced to retreat because of a bigger second wave of insects, the goddess who properly worked for once wept on the way back, but nevertheless continued with the insect extermination quests on the ensuing days. She also had an enjoyable conversation with Dust when he came visiting the mansion and talked about how he believed Eris' breasts must have been padded as well as its connection to the small breasts of her followers, but soon had to stop an enraged Megumin from demolishing the mansion.

As she sipped free tea at Wiz's Shop on another day, Aqua was delighted to see a Frog Killer capable of killing the hated Giant Toads without endangering her, though the high price meant that the broke goddess needed to go pester Kazuma for money first. Then in response to the vexed Vanir challenging her to come up with money-making schemes, suggested the ageless Lich to purchase cheap land now and wait for it to appreciate after the Devil King is defeated. The two of them proceeded to excitedly borrow huge sums of money even from lenders demanding high interest rates, until Kazuma found out and ordered the money returned immediately.

Following a serious scolding from Kazuma for making the Lich suffer losses because of all the interest paid, the Goddess of Water agreed to sit inside a basin at the shop while water is poured onto her for generating holy water to sell. She went on to enact an emotional gig with Wiz, though Vanir uncaringly dousing her with water piqued Aqua. The popularity of the holy water nevertheless prompted Aqua into seeking other liquids in the shop for her to purify, resulting in her opening one of the explosive potions that blew out more repair costs instead.

On the first morning of the festival, Aqua headed out early to the area allocated to her order, where she set up a stall for selling at a high price lizards that she claimed to be "dragons", though when attempting to pressure a young child into buying one, she was clobbered by an angry Kazuma. Aqua thus proceeded to convince him how the Axis Order did operate legitimate stalls by presenting the lucky draw stall managed by Chris, to whom she offered to gift a strange stone that she had picked up from the Kowloon Hydra's lake some time ago when the Thief burst into tears upon a customer angrily stomping away from a losing streak. With the last profiteering stall emptied of customers, Aqua went to help at the food stall opened by Kazuma by performing tricks to attract customers, before assisting with preparing the ingredients that he then Cooked into yakisoba, though in the process she couldn't help taking some bites without his permission.

Under Kazuma's guidance, on the second day Aqua led her followers on reigning in their regular antics, before setting up stalls resembling those out of a Japanese festival, where they sold yakisoba, grilled squid, and shaved ice at economic prices, much to the delight of the customers. Overjoyed at everybody all happily enjoying themselves, the goddess who personally paid for the sponsoring of the festival thanked the observing Kazuma, and Healed him when he appeared feeling unwell.

Successfully earning more than the Eris followers, Aqua and her followers gloated about it while calling for more spaces to be allocated for them. Spending the following night after the close of the day's festivities by partying overnight, they on the next day cited their heating up of the festivities and high earnings as reasons for having the city hold only the Aqua Appreciation Festival next year.

While drinking at the Axis church as she petted Emperor Zel and was attended to by Cecily, the goddess was paid a visit by Kazuma who furiously brandished the proposal they had submitted to Darkness. Approving the demand for lifting the ban on Gelatinous Slime that Cecily had without her knowledge added onto the proposal, the goddess agreed to the Priest's idea of adding another demand about forcing the women attending all festival stalls to wear swimsuits in an attempt to placate Kazuma. She however was accused by Kazuma for getting carried away with it, thus Aqua threw an outburst about staying at the Axis church where people will worship her. The goddess further indicated the number of people leaving the Eris followers' festivities for theirs in order to support her point of solely holding the Aqua Appreciation Festival, while her secret idea of starting a pyramid scheme in this world where there are no laws against it gave her the nerve to stand firm against Kazuma.

She finally put the scheme to action on the final day of the festival in order to earn enough for sponsoring next year's festival, especially when a beauty pageant centred on Eris began threatening the Axis Order's advantageous status. Yet despite quickly earning a fortune, the con scam was soon discovered by the acting governor, to whom she confessed how Kazuma was the one who came up with the idea of having the two religious orders' festivals compete with one another. Back at the mansion, the goddess became exasperated at Kazuma, who although being grilled by Darkness just like her, still found it enjoyable once the topic drifted off to a quarrel between the acting governor and Megumin over their intimacy with the scum. Aqua next accused Kazuma of coming up with the idea of pyramid schemes, before debating with Darkness over the legitimacy and legality of the money-making method, only to discover that the earnings from the pyramid scheme was already returned by the acting governor.

Eventually freed so that she could attend the closing party held by the festival committee, Aqua tolerated the presence of Eris followers because of the drinks provided, then momentarily tricked Kazuma, who revealed the current day to be his birthday, with a fib about the birthday boy being the one to gift out presents according to this world's customs. Infuriated because the vindictive Kazuma accordingly called her a hag, the goddess then grilled Darkness for not inviting the party to her birthday party in fear of them sparking trouble.

At some point during the period, Aqua with Kazuma in tow visited Wiz's Shop on a hot day, and lay on the Lich's back for coolness while restricting her divine aura so Wiz wouldn't be purified. She next smashed the magic item Wiz had just completed because it allows anybody to use Healing magic in a direct competition to the Archpriest's abilities, though Aqua was consequently forced by Kazuma to pay reparations. Afterwards falling asleep on Wiz's back, the goddess was awakened by Kazuma because her uncontrolled divine aura began purifying the Lich. In addition, Aqua joined her party members and other adventurers at the Guild on an especially hot night to tell spooky stories, where she freaked out all the male adventurers when telling of how a man living alone tried to ward off doorknocking salesmen by putting a sign on his door saying that he was gay, only to really attract a gay guy. On other hot nights when she couldn't sleep a wink, the Goddess of Water went dozing off afloat in nearby reservoirs.

The party soon entered a streak of repeatedly failing quests, and during one against Kobolds, Aqua tried flooding their nest like one does with ants, only to enrage the horde and get herself bitten, resulting in them failing the quest and required by the Guild to undergo a retraining session. Although the retraining taking place at the seaside delighted the Goddess of Water in her beautiful swimsuit, she soon found herself pursued by stinking Zombies, and only after being reminded by Kazuma of her Archpriest abilities did she reign in her disgust at the stench and purify the Undeads. Stopped from leaving by Mitsurugi whom she couldn't remember until Kazuma reminded her about the Cursed Sword, she next pestered for the Sword Master to play with her before running off into the sea to have fun. Later resisting Mitsurugi's attempts at confiscating her beach ball and citing exhaustion from dealing with the Zombies, Aqua once allowed to rest quickly ran off to swim in the sea.

Eventually rejoining the retraining when Yunyun started her lecture, the goddess heard Kazuma explain how Megumin's pride was wounded by somebody her age lecturing her on magic. She proceeded to point out how Yunyun's method of replenishing magical power by sucking air was useless because her stats meant that she would not run out of magical power, then upon hearing Yunyun bring up the dangers of Explosion Magic blowing up Axel if its caster loses control, tried to have Megumin lose control on the Guild as payback for them scolding her for failure.

Aqua accordingly teased Yunyun over her magical stones that could change colour whenever magical power was stored within, before overloading one of them into glowing once she touched it. Seeing how the magical stone's explosion after being thrown into the sea had killed some fishes, the goddess happily swam to collect them, only to be blasted when Megumin threw some more overloaded magical stones in. Subsequently rescued by Wiz and Mitsurugi, Aqua cheered up again upon Yunyun calling for them to try fishing, which the Goddess of Water proceeded to do by Purifying the seawater until Kazuma stopped her from destroying the ecosystem.

As Wiz's lecture over adventurer attitude began, the goddess teased Darkness over her liking hero stories, and at Wiz instructing them to fight sea monsters, suggested starting a barbeque after casting support magic on Darkness. Soon seeing a huge Kraken attracted by Wiz's vial, Aqua asked Kazuma to chop off some tentacles for the barbeque, which she concentrated on even when Darkness got captured. Next seeing a ghost ship filled with Undead approaching, the goddess prepared to cast Purification Magic without concern for Wiz being caught in the crossfire. Ignoring her party members' quips over her attracting the ghost ship, Aqua called for everybody to help pick up after Wiz's mess, only to be interrupted by Megumin's uncontrolled Explosion.

Reflexively saving herself by jumping into the sea, the Goddess of Water surfaced after the catastrophe to find not only the monsters eradicated and the other people blown to immobility, but her barbeque also got ruined, prompting her to go dive for the Kraken's leftover legs. Next getting permission from Mitsurugi to head home after eating, Aqua still frustrated over her ruined barbeque went fishing for souvenirs by Purifying the whole sea.

While making another visit to Wiz's Shop, Aqua was shocked by Vanir proclaiming interest in a human woman, something she out of amusement offered assistance with. Calling on her knowledge gleaned from the romance manga she had read, the goddess advised him to gift the woman a present. Later surprised to hear how the woman wasn't as weird as initially thought because she rejected the advances of Vanir who gifted her monster carcasses, Aqua began contemplating ruining the affair for the sake of the normal woman. She returned to the shop on the following day with the idea of investigating more about that human woman, whom Vanir described as busty person who took care of people and allocated them suitable jobs. After showing approval for the traits of that woman except for the first point, the goddess advised the Archdemon to give up on the woman who appeared too high-up for him.

Paying another visit to Wiz's Shop some days later to find tea already prepared, the goddess smelled in addition to the masked pest the stench of other weaker demons polluting her turf. She on the following day saw several thugs belonging to the Yatagarasu harassing Michael's wine shop, and so drove them off with a God Blow, successfully keeping the city's peace despite bringing the owner to tears because she accidentally purified a few barrels of wine. Subsequently helping herself to some tea at the vacant shop of Wiz, Aqua upon the Lich and the Archdemon's return listened to the former's woes regarding the Yatagarasu sticking yatagarasu stickers on store doorways all over the city.

The goddess a few more days afterwards came up with the idea of dealing with the Yatagarasu's nuisance by cleanly removing all the yatagarasu stickers on people's doorways, and even sneaked after the Yatagarasu members resticking the stickers so she could drive them crazy by removing the stickers as soon as they were stuck on. Yet one night she found the criminal organisation launching a raid on a nondescript cafe, so the goddess laid in wait for the opportunity to jump to the rescue and receive praise, only to witness the thugs all defeated by the cafe's Succubi staff.

Now murderously preparing to annihilate the den of low-level Demons, Aqua explained what had happened to Vanir and Wiz who followed the Loli Succubus to the scene. Dismissing Wiz's rushing off to bring Kazuma as inconsequential, the goddess engaged in a ferocious battle against the Archdemon who stood in the Succubi's defence. She was however soon stopped by an unprecedentedly furious Kazuma, who dragged her back for a whole night of reprimanding. Further warned about making enemies of all male adventurers in the city should she annihilate the Succubi, Aqua on the following day was forced to agree on a truce with the Cafe's representatives at Wiz's Shop, though she still insisted on trading barbs with Vanir, and ended up being dragged away by Kazuma before she can start another fight.

Curious about Wiz's past with Vanir to the point that she couldn't sleep at night and had to take afternoon naps instead, the goddess went pestering the shop every day. One day hearing the Archdemon confess about teaching the shopkeeper the forbidden spell for turning into a Lich, Aqua furiously swung at him with God Blow, then poured tea to solidify the body he had scattered into dust before attempting to throw his mask into the rubbish. She afterwards listened to them two of them talk about how they had first met back when Wiz was still a human adventurer, though the story went on for so long that she fell asleep at some point.

Late Summer Arc

One day Aqua read to Kazuma Cecily's letter of gratitude over him helping refurbish the local Axis Church, only to have it torn up by him when she read to the part about naming him an honorary member of the Axis Order. After a squabble between the pair and Aqua wondering about Eris' whereabouts following her advent during the Eris Appreciation Festival, she became disturbed by Kazuma threatening Emperor Zel again, before declaring her intent to laze around and ignoring Darkness' inquiries over the Axis Order's other money-making schemes. She was later gifted some leftover wine from the festival closing party that she brought out at dinnertime for the whole party to drink overnight, though Kazuma for some reason tried having everybody go to sleep early similar to the nights when he goes staying outside. The goddess proceeded to invite the girls into overnight activities during the ensuing nights, and in the meantime heard the Crimson Demon talk of establishing a strange entity. On a subsequent night when Aqua was gifted a bottle of wine from Kazuma, she asked Megumin who had successfully set up a base and recruited two underlings for the entity to help with thinking how to name Emperor Zel's attacks, only for the exhausted Crimson Demon to go sleep early following dinner. And finding the plain-tasting dinner cooked by Darkness unsavoury, the goddess on the following night asked her to cook something oilier, then challenged Kazuma to a boardgame match only to be deftly beaten.

Trying to pet Emperor Zel like a glamorous lady only to be pecked, the goddess was forced by Kazuma to offer a strand of her divine hair for a protection charm made by Megumin. Next asking Darkness to help build a dragon house in the yard for Emperor Zel only to have the clumsy Crusader wreck it instead, she told her to call Megumin for help. Unable to find Kazuma nor Darkness anywhere in the mansion during a break in the job, the goddess made comments about the human trash while contemplating staying in this world. She soon went back to work, but upon going back inside again discovered Kazuma about to help a Binded Darkness inside the toilet pull out the toilet paper, and so cheered the embarrassed Crusader up by stating how it's their style to cause pandemonium and handing her a charm, before inquiring if the Crusader made it to the toilet in time. Aqua was later on gifted by Kazuma an expensive bottle of wine, which she spent the whole night drinking.

Asked one night by a returning Megumin about the party members' secrets, Aqua confessed her having drank Kazuma's wine that he had kept for the anniversary of the party's establishment, in hopes of having him accordingly forgive her other more serious misdeeds. The goddess afterwards accompanied Wiz on an errand for purchasing inventory, where she helped the Lich select wares to buy.

Seeing Kazuma fall into greater depths of trashiness through proudly lazing around all day, Aqua hoping to share some of the neroid he was drinking returned from bringing snacks to find Darkness and Megumin attempting to drag him off the couch for taking quests. The goddess thus explained how leaving behind the weak Adventurer who had turned ever more trashier since the Eris Appreciation Festival would be better for questing, then began debating with Kazuma ways to defeat him in a fight, which culmulated in them agreeing to have a contest.

With Darkness acting as her assistant while Megumn became the adjudicator, Aqua accompanied Kazuma to the Guild, where despite the bad memories she accepted the quest he had selected which entailed subjugation of Goblins and their accompanying Beginner's Bane, as well as his suggested points system based on the monsters that each side defeats. But the Goblins they ran into at the grove kept getting Sniped by Kazuma before Aqua and Darkness can reach them, so furious at him stealing all their kills, the Archpriest casting buffs onto the Crusader turned to teaching the cheater a lesson. The girls however were unable to catch him because Kazuma Lurked out of their range and left Frozen puddles of Created Water around to trip them over, then after Megumin caught up with the trio, the party found themselves surrounded by a dozen Goblins and the Beginner's Bane which were attracted by their racket. Aqua thus proceeded with Kazuma's plan where the three of them fight their way out together, only to be blown down when Megumin the supposed adjudicator eradicated all the monsters with an Explosion.

While Aqua was feeding Emperor Zel one night during a discussion between Kazuma and Megumin about leading troublemakers, the goddess suggested that she wasn't one of them, then became irate at being named the top troublemaker on par with Goblins, before refuting Megumin's proclamation about herself being the most calm and reasonable one of the party. On a subsequent night, she happened to witness a blushing Kazuma and Megumin discussing about kissing, prompting her to attempt reporting the scene to Darkness before being stopped by the pair. Aqua was on the following day overjoyed at Darkness' family sending crab until she stubbed her toe in the delight, then having prepared a crab pot for dinner, discussed about what Megumin had been doing with her entity lately.

Bickering with Kazuma one morning over the newspaper from which she wanted to read the comics section, the Goddess of Water became irate when Darkness read aloud an article about a fort defending the royal capital being attacked by a Devil King's General who dared to call herself the "Dark God", before lunging at the NEET for denying her divinity. Aqua on the following morning agreed with Megumin's suggestion of heading to the fort, since it allowed them to face off against that "Dark God" encroaching upon her sacred domain, and tried goading the reluctant Kazuma into going through taunting his adventurer ranking trailing that of Mitsurugi's.

The Goddess of Water later served tea to Yunyun who brought Chomusuke back to the mansion, then after the loner divulged how the Dark God used to be sealed in the Crimson Demon Village and was later taken in by Megumin as a familiar, helped to suppress the denying latter while Darkness headed off to borrow the lie-detecting bell. Following Megumin's interrogation and confession about her actual relationship with Chomusuke the Dark God, Aqua took advantage of the bell to make the Crimson Demon admit that she didn't despise the Axis Order, before lying about admiring Kazuma to make sure the bell wasn't giving false positives.

Startled on the next day by the NEET tinkering with the dangerous explosive potions sold by Wiz, the goddess soon became impressed with him using them for recreating some sticks of dynamite, so she decided to show off a trick that shrank one stick into pocket size. Later accompanying the others on Megumin's daily Explosion routine, she witnessed Kazuma test detonating a stick of dynamite, and so asked for him to make some for her too.

On the following day prior to the party plus Yunyun setting out, Aqua having packed a huge sack full of wine left Emperor Zel at Wiz's Shop, then was Teleported alongside the others by the loner to the royal capital. Accordingly impressed by Kazuma's negotiating skills that easily persuaded the city guards into providing them with maps and monster guides for the path towards the fort, she on the journey which the gang quickly started cheerily marveled at the Kesaran Pasarans as well as other sights along the way. Aqua was next thrilled when a band of Bandits who managed to survive the monsters in the wilderness stepped out to rob the gang, but then had to chase after Darkness because the perverted Crusader upon the Bandits being scared off instead pursued them for hours.

Cooking dinner after they set up camp in the wild that night, Aqua in her sleep later on heard the pestering from the others about a Zombie Dragon appearing, which she tried to ignore until eventually forced to get up and purify it with Turn Undead. Subsequent to her expecting praise from Kazuma only to get Drain Touched for laziness, the goddess Healed Darkness who simply got pummelled unconscious instead of being turned into a pancake by the powerful undead. Next ordered by Kazuma to pack up camp and move out because of more monsters being attracted, the Archpriest Powering up herself carried the unconscious Darkness as she bickered with Kazuma while leading the mortals through the pitch black surroundings.

Finally making it to the inn which sported a hot spring, Aqua tussled with Kazuma who dismissed the sight of her bathing as not worth peeking at, before taking a bath with the other girls prior to sleeping. She as they continued the trip on the next day paid little heed to Kazuma's bragging of having bathed last night with a busty beauty whom he had previously met in Arcanletia, instead busying herself with harassing any Kesaran Pasarans they ran into until driven into tears by the Great Spirit protecting them. Eventually reaching the fort by sunset, Aqua upon seeing Kazuma bringing up Darkness' family name to scare the captain of the guards who were giving him trouble, also helped force an apology out of the man. She subsequent to settling in a guest room went alongside Kazuma to explore the fort, then after getting kicked out of the control room where Aqua attempted to press all the buttons, wanted to go drinking the wine she had brought while eating free food from the mess hall before running into Mitsurugi. Declaring to the Sword Master her mission as a goddess to fight that Devil King's General who called herself a "Dark God", Aqua was accordingly shown the fort walls that were on the brink of collapse from Wolbach's Explosions.

Afraid of facing the Explosion-wielding foe, during the ensuing gang meeting Aqua expressed intent to show mercy for the unremarkable Dark God. She anyhow followed Kazuma to counterattack after Wolbach's Explosion for the day, only to hear from Mitsurugi at the ruined section of the wall that Wolbach had already Teleported away to the safety of the monster army's territory. This hopeless situation prompted Aqua into packing up to flee, though upon hearing of Yunyun the useful Crimson Demon helping with the walls' repairs, went off to heal any wounded in the fort.

On the next day Aqua joined the others hiding in some woods outside the fort for ambushing Wolbach, though soon after the Archpriest buffed Darkness in preparation for tanking the enemy Explosion, she had to accompany Kazuma on stalling the Devil King's General so Megumin could finish her Explosion chant. The Goddess of Water thus indignantly accused Wolbach of falsely claiming divinity, then enraged at the Axis followers being insulted by the Dark God who didn't believe her as a goddess, started tussling with Wolbach while exchanging threats of divine retribution and jeers about lacking followers, before attempting to drown the Devil King's General with Sacred Create Water only for her to Teleport away.

Having nearly collapsed the fort walls with her flood, Aqua donning her masonry gear on the following day began directing the repair work on the walls that Wolbach had been daily Exploding, and not only speedily fixed the damages through her control of water in the mortar she had swiped but also proceeded to reinforce the walls. Named the "Repair Captain" by Darkness who alongside Kazuma and the other defenders heaped praise and wine upon her, in the ensuing days the Goddess of Water despite the Dark God's daily Explosions turned the failing fort into a mighty bastion, on the outside of which she even painted murals.
