Salamanders live in a variety of environments, and can heat themselves up even in cold areas. They can easily befriend humans, thus some really creative people travelling to cold places tuck them inside their clothing to serve as small heaters.

- Its design was based off the Charmander from the Pokémon series.
- The one that Megumin captured and tamed was named "Hemozo".
