Liches (リッチー) are the highest ranked undead, also known as the "No Life King." They were usually extremely powerful arch wizards in life, and became even more powerful when they turned into a lich.[1]
Appearance[]
The appearances of liches vary, ranging from horrifying revenants to astonishing beauties, though the general conception of them are skeletons wearing wizard robes and wielding magic rods while glowing with unholy magic.
Overview[]
Once arch wizards who had mastered the limits of magic, Liches have abandoned their natural bodies through arcane rituals, becoming kings of undead. Although most Liches used to be human, it is also possible for other races to become Liches.[2]
Despite their power and immortality, Liches can be harmed by holy water and the holy magic of priests, and are vulnerable to powerful purification magic.
Abilities[]
- Necromancy: Liches generally are able to reanimate dead creatures into undead servants.
- Undead Attraction: Being the kings of undead, Liches can attract wandering undead creatures.
- Drain Touch: By touching another creature, Liches can absorb the strength and stamina from the target, and may even be able to transfer it to somebody else.
- Damage Resistance: Physical attacks cannot truly harm Liches unless enchanted weapons are used.

- Liches have a rivalry with Vampires over who are the kings of Undead.[4]
- In the initial web novel, Liches also have a skill later learned by Kazuma called Undead King's Hand (不死王の手), which allows the user to through touching an opponent directly or via an object, randomly inflict a status anomaly that can either be poison, paralysis, sleep, magic sealing, or level drain.
- Wiz didn’t become a skeleton after she became a Lich because she kept eating, suggesting that Liches can retain their flesh that way.[5]
