The Royal Castle (
Overview[]
A giant castle located right in the heart of the Royal Capital, it boasts luxurious guest rooms, a courtyard, a ballroom[1] and an "audience hall".[2] The castle vault is located at the 2nd floor and it is full of traps, as well as treasures that light the room, including magazines from Japan both manga and adult. The Princess' room is located in the top floor, with a swimming pool below it.[3]
The castle is also full of servants and maids, all at the disposal of the royal family as well as their guests. And whenever emergencies requiring a military response occur, such as attacks by the Devil King's Army, the front of the castle gate serves as a mustering ground for troops and adventurers, during which the local Adventurer Guild will deploy employees over to help perform clerical and logistical work.[4]
History[]
After his dinner with Princess Iris, Kazuma was forcibly brought to the castle,[5] where he stayed at during the ensuing week in order to entertain the Princess. When his party members came for bringing him back to Axel, Kazuma's party following a farewell party went to Alderp's manor in order to capture the noble thief.[1]
The day following one of the attacks on the Capital by the Devil King's Army which instead saw the invaders annihilated, a grand victory banquet was hosted at the castle, in which a plethora of adventurers and nobles were invited to stay over.[4] However, later that night the castle was invaded by the Silver-Haired Thief Brigade, who defeated both the Royal Guard and the top-class adventurers from the Capital, before successfully stealing Iris' necklace which Aqua promptly sealed the powers of.[3] A debriefing audience with Kazuma's party was subsequently held in the castle by Iris and her close advisors for discussing the necklace and the danger it posed, before the party was Teleported back to their mansion.[6]
When a Dragon Knight acting as emissary from the Kingdom of Brydle visited Belzerg, the Royal Castle offered him a guest room while letting his Dragon steed sleep in the courtyard. Following a series of simultaneous disturbances wracking the city that saw the security detail of the castle stretched thin, Dust in his Dragon Knight disguise strode right into the castle's courtyard to borrow the emissary's Dragon, on which he gave Iris a brief ride through the night sky before returning her to the castle.[7]
Kazuma's party eventually returned to the Royal Castle in order to escort the Princess to Elroad,[8] and upon return stayed there as guests for 2 weeks. With Kazuma shamelessly remaining behind even after Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness headed back to Axel, 10 days later Claire, Rain and the Royal Guard forcibly kicked him while wiping his memories of the stay.[9]
