Giant Toads (ジャイアントトード) are humongous toads frequently appearing in the countryside that are large enough to swallow livestock and humans whole.

Appearance

Giant Toads look just like toads except for their huge size, which makes them several people tall even when sitting, and more than able to swallow a person whole. The most common colouration of them is green, though variations like pink, purple, grey, yellow, blue, etc. are also seen throughout the story. The interior of the Giant Toad's mouth is known to be slimy, smelly, and warm.

Tadpoles of Giant Toads are also larger than normal and about the size of goldfishes.

Overview

Giant Toads are commonly seen in the temperate countryside especially moist grasslands including those around Axel. Generally they burrow underground to hibernate and don't cause trouble for people, but during mating season in order to gain the energy to breed, the Giant Toads will surface to feed on animals, ranging from humans, livestock goats and cattle.

As such, quests to exterminate them are frequently posted, with many adventurers taking advantage of the Giant Toad's characteristic of staying still as it slowly swallows any prey that got snapped up to take them out. Their meat is considered a delicacy by the many people especially when deep fried.

• Toad (トード): Small versions of the Giant Toad that cannot swallow people but are still aggressive.
• Pink Toad (ピンク・トード): Small versions of the Pink Giant Toad with a texture like chicken.
• Pink Giant Toad (ピンク・ジャイアント・トード): A breed of Giant Toad that is considered to be of higher quality than the common green ones.
• Grey Giant Toad (グレー・ジャイアント・トード): The largest breed of Giant Toad that likes to ambush people in dark spots.
• Blizzard Giant Toad (ブリザード・ジャイアント・トード): A Giant Toad wielding ice and snow that is spawned in the secret super tribulation room of the Island in the Sky.
• Fire Giant Toad (ファイアー・ジャイアント・トード): A Giant Toad wielding fire that is spawned in the secret super tribulation room of the Island in the Sky.
• Blue Toad (ブルートード): Small versions of the Blue Giant Toad that tastes bitter.
• Yellow Toad (イエロートード): Small versions of the Yellow Giant Toad that tastes spicy.
• Blue Giant Toad (ブルージャイアントトード): A breed of Giant Toad that is more resistant to water than the common green ones.
• Yellow Giant Toad (イエロージャイアントトード): A breed of Giant Toad that is more active than the common green ones.
• Mega Giant Toad (メガジャイアントトード): Giant Toads that are larger than normal.
• Erotic Domestic Ultra Big Giant Toad (エロティカルドメスティックウルトラビッグジャイアントトード): A fictional creature from Darkness' fantasies, which is created by the Devil King's Army, with saliva that is capable of dissolving armour and contains aphrodisiac.
• Rainbow Giant Toad (虹色ジャイアントトード): Giant Toads coloured like rainbows that not only can speak, but have doorways inside their stomachs leading to the other worlds, like Re:Zero, Overlord and The Eminence in Shadow worlds.

Abilities

• Leaping: Being oversized toads, Giant Toads have a substantial leapfrogging speed that is comparable to a regular human's sprint.
• Shock Resistance: The Giant Toad's blubbery body is immune to blunt force attacks in addition to water.
