Lizard Runners (リザードランナー) are fast-running lizards that like to compete on speed.[1]
Appearance[]
The majority of Lizard Runners, which are composed of males, look like human-sized bipedal purple frill-necked lizards. The rare female, known as the Princess Runner, is a size bigger and coloured brownish-red.
Overview[]
Lizard Runners are herbivorous reptiles that generally don't cause trouble for people, but during mating season the males will en masse chase after the Princess Runner racing ahead of them to prove their speed and thus superiority, and the male that proves the fastest will become the King Runner who gets the mating rights.
Since Lizard Runners frequently cause a lot of disturbance and damage to settlements during their competitions as well as attack other animals that rival them in speed, quests are posted for adventurers to take out the Princess Runner so that the reptiles will stop racing.

- Knee-kick Runner: An advanced breed of Lizard Runner that uses a powerful knee kick for hunting prey.[2]
- Green Lizard Runner (リザードランナーグリーン): Lizard Runners with green scales.[3]
- Flashing Lizard Runner (閃光リザードランナー): Lizard Runners giving off a yellow glow that upon dashing, will leave behind particles of light leading to the Re:ZERO~Starting Life in Another World~ world.[4]
