Off the Rails is the sixth of the First Dose missions featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Los Santos Drug Wars update.
Description[]
The player leaves The Freakshop wearing orange overalls and a clown mask. Dax calls, telling the player to head to Humane Labs, having Labrat explain that the precursor chemicals they need to create their acid are rare, federally-prohibited items on a blacklist that can only be bought with DEA approval. The only local source that would have the high-quality stuff the Fooliganz can steal from is Humane Labs.
After reaching Humane Labs, the player attempts to stealthily make their way to the entrance at the upper garden, taking out guards and Security Cameras before hacking the keypad. Once inside, the player heads into the loading bay, taking out one more camera along the way, and quietly take down the Merryweather Security within. Dax asks the player to take a photo of the inventory manifest, then, search through crates for the chemicals. Five large bottles need to be collected. Should the player not happen to already own a Crowbar, one can be found lying around in the bay.
On recovering three jugs, Dax calls the player to reveal that Labrat has discovered "the motherload": a train carrying super pure chemicals and a truck, which is currently moving south through Blaine County, and has the player collect the rest of the chemicals while he comes up with a new plan for the train. The player is instructed to leave through the loading bay doors, which triggers the arrival of two Merryweather Mesas to attack. The player needs to race to the switching station at Davis Quartz before the train can reach it, which can be done in their personal vehicle if they happened to park close enough to the loading bay or use the Mesa parked outside the loading bay. At the station, they enter the switching shed to use a lever to switch the tracks, witness it roll past at speed, and hear it collide with another oncoming train outside the nearby Palmer-Taylor Power Station. If the Humane Labs on-site security guards that are still alive are also aggroed when leaving the compound, this can trigger the spawning of security guards near the switching station.
Dax then advises the player to steal a cutting tool from some nearby quarry workers, and they head to the wrecked train and begin cutting open red cargo containers in search of the chemicals while dealing with the security on site. Once the first of the five target chemicals is taken from one of the eight containers, waves of Merryweather mercenaries will arrive to attack in Mesas and Buzzard Attack Choppers. After all of the chemicals have been found, the player steals the Humane Labs Brickade 6x6 from one of the front carriages while more Merryweather arrives, driving it back to The Freakshop while protecting it from being damaged too much by opponent gunfire, and completing the mission.
