Davis Quartz is a terraced mining site in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. It is located on Senora Way, to the east of Sandy Shores and southeast of the Grand Senora Desert.
Description[]
Despite appearing to be an active quarry, little activity is seen at the quarry. Several vehicles can be found here but very few workers are ever seen on site.
The perimeter is patrolled by Merryweather Security, who do not open fire on the player if they enter the quarry.
Influence[]
Davis Quartz was likely influenced by the Eagle Mountain mining facility located on the eastern-edge of Joshua Tree in California, not too far away from the influences behind locations such as Sandy Shores and the Grand Senora Desert.
The name of the quarry is most likely a reference to the book City of Quartz: Excavating the Future by Mike Davis. In the book, Davis also mentions the Eagle Mountain facility.

- The player can find a diner called Rex's Diner just south of Davis Quartz. They will find a purple giant Tyrannosaurus Rex that slightly resembles Barney from Barney & Friends.
