Shock & Awe is the sixth and final Project Overthrow mission featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the San Andreas Mercenaries update.
Description[]
The player spawns in the Avenger flying over Pacific Bluffs, as Charlie briefs them on how the US government wants to cut off ties with Merryweather, but they still want to recover their R&D resources from the mercenary group. The government sets up a deal with the Los Santos Angels to recover said resources in exchange for a large amount of cash. Avi Schwartzman also makes an appearance in the mission, supplying the player with his keycard which will gain them access to the control room.
Upon reaching the HQ at Los Santos Naval Port, Charlie shows up in an F-160 Raiju fighter jet he has borrowed from the client in On Parade, and uses it to wipe out several helicopters on the helipad, allowing the player to land their Avenger safely. From there, the player must fight through Merryweather agents to reach the control room. However, the signal from Avi's keycard is jammed, which prevents it from opening the door. Eight signal jammers are located around the warehouse at multiple levels. Once all eight signal jammers are destroyed, the keycard succeeds in opening the door to the control room, allowing the player to push a button which releases a lock on the target cargo.
Once unlocked, the player is instructed to push the cargo container along a track back to the Avenger in between defending themselves from waves of Merryweather reinforcements, including a few Buzzard Attack Choppers which Merryweather agents rappel down from. At some point, Merryweather sends in several Savages, but they're swiftly destroyed by a second attack run by Charlie, allowing the player to continue pushing the cargo to the Avenger.
Once the cargo is loaded into the Avenger, the player simply needs to fly it to Fort Zancudo, while evading Merryweather reinforcements in Buzzards and Weaponized Conadas, to complete the deal and thus, Project Overthrow.
