Odglass (オドグラス) is the Sacred Beast, one of the Four Great Spirits. She is known as the mother of Gusteko and the Benevolent Mother of the Gustekan Church.
Appearance[]
Odglass is said to have the appearance of a large, white bear.[1]
Personality[]
Odglass is a spirit who, unlike most other spirits, interferes with the way of the world by watching over the human populace in the Holy Kingdom of Gusteko, where she resides, with affection and benevolence from her abode, the Sacred Mountain Paradochia.[2][3] She is a powerful great spirit who has scores of spirits and lesser spirits under her control, which she uses to help humans live in the permafrost-covered nation.[4]
History[]
When the Holy Kingdom of Gusteko was founded, Odglass exchanged a contract with a spiritual arts user who followed her, bestowed the title of Holy King onto them, and from then on, she was involved in choosing successive Holy Kings, who were selected out of the citizens regardless of their bloodline or origin.[5] This process created an established and long relationship with Odglass and Gusteko, as the tradition to select the Holy King is something she has held from the beginning of the country’s history. Because of this, she is heralded as the Gustekan Church’s Benevolent Mother.[6]
Abilities[]
Magic (魔法, Mahō): Odglass is able to use Water Magic.
Great Power: As one of the Four Great Spirits, Odglass has tremendous power that puts her on a similar level to others of her kind.
Trivia[]
- In The Day I Gave Up on Being a Following Star, a side story released with Tanpenshuu Volume 1, and Two Witches' Eventful Journey, an event exclusive side story, Odglass's title was mistakenly serialized as Holy Beast (聖獣, Seijū).
