Tag Team is an Arena War Adversary Mode in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Arena War update.
Description[]
In Tag Team, players compete to remain the last team standing. Players are split into two to four teams and one team has to work together to eliminate the others. Depending on whether or not the host of the match enables "Team Balancing", players can switch between teams before the game starts. With Team Balancing enabled, the number of total players joined is divided into two, and the option to "Join Team" before loading is disabled.
Players may chose between any of the Arena Ready or Arena Contender vehicles before loading, and, if enabled by the host, select a "Custom" vehicle. This mode is not restricted to any particular Arena War vehicle. With Custom Vehicles enabled, the player is also able to upgrade their vehicle before the match starts.
When the round starts, only one player from each team will be put into an arena, while the others are put into the spectator box. These players can use traps, turrets, RC Banditos, and Battle Drones to help their active player in damaging/destroying the enemy contenders. They can spawn in an unlimited amount of RC Banditos and Battle Drones and can also choose to utilise the traps and remote-controled turrets.
At the start of the round, a 60-second "tag timer" will start counting down. Once a minute has passed, the active player has the option of driving into the pit garage, where they will be swapped with another contender from their team. Their vehicle will also be repaired up to a set amount. If this is done, the tag timer will reset and the players can swap again after another minute has passed.
Once only players on one team remain, they will win the round. If more than one team remains after the given time, the team with the most players still active wins the round.
Maps[]
There are three variations of Tag Team for each Arena War theme: Apocalypse, Future Shock, and Nightmare.
All three maps are open-space and do not consist of any circuits or laps. The pit lane is closed and fences are enabled.

Oversights[]
- Players can occasionally get stuck in the spectator seats, preventing them from standing up, performing any actions, or being tagged in. This effectively forces the game to a time-out draw as they are unable to be eliminated.
