Great Ground is an island located on the back of a giant Sea King of the same name that roams Paradise. It appears in Legend of the Rainbow Island.[1]

On the Log Pose, it is preceded by Royal Sun Island and followed by Festa Circle.

Overview[]

"Great Ground" refers to both the island, with its own magnetic field, and the Sea King, upon which the island is built.

When Great Ground gets angry, it can violently shake its body, causing earthquakes on the island. It has shown the ability to differentiate between who is actively on the island, showing a high level of awareness for what happens on its back.

Geography[]

Map of LOTRI

A map of the islands surrounding Great Ground.

Great Ground is a small island with large, spike-shaped mountains sticking out of its center. Surrounding the spikes, ringing the island's coast, is a dense forest, broken only by a town to the south of the mountains.

Locations[]

Great Ground Port[]

Great Ground Port (グレートグラウンド港, Gurēto Guraundo Minato?) is the island's main port, located on its south side.

Cola Village[]

Cola Village (コーラ村, Kōra-mura?) is the island's only town, located between the port and the mountains.

Inhabitants[]

All the inhabitants live in Cola Village. The only named resident of the village is Maya.

Wildlife[]

Great Ground is home a giant sea turtle, which lives in its forests. The giant turtle has triplet babies, one of which is Maya's pet.

The turtle is considered the protector of the island and its eggs, and prior to their hatching, didn't leave its eggs under any circumstances. The only person who it is friendly with is Maya, who can communicate with it.

History[]

Past[]

At some point in the past, the island "Great Ground" was established on Great Ground's back.

Legend of the Rainbow Island[]

When Reira and Harry set off an explosion on its back, Great Ground shook violently, causing a large earthquake across the island. However, when they left, it instantly stopped.

Trivia[]

  • Great Ground is the first case of an island built upon a large animal, followed by Mecha Island and Zou. However, unlike later iterations of this concept, Great Ground is reachable by Log Pose, while Mecha Island requires the specialized Turtle Pose and Zou is only accessible by Vivre Card.
