Kogani is a baby Moving Crab living in the Sandy Desert. It was saved from a Sandora Lizard by the Straw Hat Pirates, and helps them out to repay them. It appears in One Piece Odyssey.[1]
Appearance[]
Kogani is a red crab, usually seen smiling. It is a small Moving Crab, and like the rest of the species, has a patch of grass growing on top of its head.
Personality[]
Kogani is gracious, thanking the Straw Hat Pirates for saving it from a Sandora Lizard. It puts a large amount of effort into repaying the favor, reintroducing them to Hasami and even leaving Arabasta Kingdom to help them.
Relationships[]
Hasami[]
Kogani and Hasami have a trusting relationship, with Kogani being able to request that Hasami help transport people.[1][2]
Straw Hat Pirates[]
Kogani is generally very thankful to the Straw Hats for rescuing it, and is willing to help them when needed. It is particularly friendly with Chopper, with the two communicating as friends and Kogani giving Chopper gifts.
Abilities and Powers[]
Being a giant crab, Kogani is capable of moving great distances across the vast deserts of Arabasta at high speeds. Due to being a baby, however, it is considerably weaker than other member of its species, and relies on its larger brethren for more difficult travel.
History[]
One Piece Odyssey[]
After leaving the Ravine of No Return, the Straw Hats were attacked by a Sandora Lizard, which they promptly defeated. Upon defeating it, Kogani was thrown out, thanking them for rescuing it.
Some time later, the Straw Hats caused a cave at the cave connecting Nanohana and Alubarna, blocking their way through. When exiting the cave, they ran into Kogani again, who informed them that it could introduce them to a friend to bring them over the quicksand field. The Straw Hats accepted the offer, and Kogani reintroduced them to Hasami. The Straw Hats thanked Kogani for the introduction and departed.
While exploring the Tomb of the Kings, the Straw Hats found Kogani once again, this time in a small desert patch at the bottom of the Tomb. It revealed that it enjoyed staying there, and gave them a Burst Brew.
After returning to Waford, the Straw Hats needed a way to cross the Dust Ruins, and returned to the Arabasta Kingdom Memoria to retrieve a Moving Crab for help. Upon realizing that an adult crab was too large to exit Memoria, they asked Kogani for help, who accepted. It helped them traverse the ruins, temporarily remaining in Waford to aid in travel.
