- Not to be confused with the Ilisia Kingdom.
The Lulusia Kingdom was a historical World Government-affiliated kingdom located in Paradise. It was located south-west to Marine Base G-2,[5] and close to Momoiro Island[6] and Mary Geoise.[7] The country was ruled by King Seki, but following the events of the latest Levely, the citizens decided to revolt against him as part of the Eight-Nation Revolution[4] and imprisoned him and his daughter, Princess Komane.[3]
Following the Raid on Onigashima, the kingdom was completely destroyed without a trace by the World Government using an Ancient Weapon, and was subsequently erased from history.[8]
Layout and Locations[]
Lulusia was stated to be relatively close to Momoiro Island. At the very least, Sabo took around six days of travel by ship to move through the two locations.[9]
The island had a large ragged mountain range and a vast wooden forest with pine trees. It had a very large castle, towering over the port town.
Unnamed Town[]
A town where Ace heard Blackbeard was seen. Pasta Lake was located there. It was near a river.[1]
Port Town[]
A port town that was attacked by the Peachbeard Pirates, and was rescued by the Revolutionary Army's commanders.[2]
Milk Farm[]
A farm where Moda worked. Its main export was cow milk.[10]

History[]
Past[]
Sometime in the past, the kingdom affiliated itself with the World Government. G-2, a Marine base, was then established nearby.
Sky Island Saga[]
Ace's Great Blackbeard Search[]
After hearing rumors about Blackbeard being on the island, Ace traveled there as part of his search for vengeance. However, the rumors were proven misleading and lead him to doctor Kurotsuru. After Ace dine-and-dashed and attacked the innocent doctor, the citizens threw him into the river.[11]
Sometime later, Ace was rescued by Moda, a milk maiden, who in return for helping him asked him to deliver a letter to the nearby Marine base G-2.[12] After returning the favor, Moda was reunited with her parents Kyuji and Koda who worked at the base,[13] and Ace left to continue his search.[14]
During the Timeskip[]
At some point during the timeskip, the kingdom was forced to offer gold to the World Nobles, which caused much of the kingdom (or at least its port city) to fall into poverty.
Whole Cake Island Saga[]
Levely Arc[]
The kingdom's royal family was heading to the upcoming Levely, but the family was attacked by pirates, and Princess Komane was kidnapped for ransom. When the report arrived to New Marineford and Sakazuki heard it, he became angry at their escort. Koby's team then rescued the princess.[15]
Meanwhile, back at the kingdom, Peachbeard attacked a port city in the name of the Emperor Blackbeard. Despite the town's people begging to be left alone and saying the town was poor, the Peachbeard Pirates continued their search for the Celestial Dragons' gold. The Revolutionary Army commanders were nearby, and Belo Betty rallied the citizens to fight. After the pirates were defeated, Betty told the citizens to claim Peachbeard's bounty and gave them a way to contact the revolutionaries in case they need help before leaving with her team.[16]
Final Saga[]
Egghead Arc[]
— Saint Shepherd Ju Peter censoring the existence of Lulusia Kingdom from historical records.[17] |
Having heard of the Revolutionary Army's invasion of Mary Geoise and taking inspiration from it, the citizens of Lulusia Kingdom rose up against King Seki and Princess Komane upon their return from the Levely; they were one of eight kingdoms to do this in quick succession, which was dubbed the Eight-Nation Revolution by the press. Following the revolt, Seki and Komane were imprisoned. Sabo who escape from Mary Geoise by stowaway on the same ship, was welcomed by the citizens of Lulusia Kingdom, and in turn he invited interested citizens into Revolutionary army.
Unknown to Sabo and citizens of Lulusia Kingdom, Imu ordered a Mother Flame-fueled Ancient Weapon to be tested on Lulusia due to its close proximity to Mary Geoise.[7]
On the way back to the Kamabakka Kingdom, Sabo contacted the Revolutionary Army by routing the call through Lulusia Kingdom, making the Marines assume he was still in the Kingdom. However, when he started to reveal the existence of Imu, the Five Elders ordered their wiretapping to be cut off, and stated that there had been no communication intercepted. A short time later, the Ancient Weapon was utilized, instantly annihilating the kingdom with a rain of lasers. Not a trace of the island was left following the attack, and the Five Elders proclaimed that the kingdom had never existed to begin with.[17]
Post-Destruction[]
Before Imu destroyed the island, the civilians that wished to join the Revolutionary Army, who Belo Betty had rallied into rebelling, managed to escape with Sabo's help, setting sail for the Kamabakka Kingdom, where they enlisted to join the Revolutionary Army.[9][18]
Lulusia's destruction resulted in a massive sea hole appearing where the country was once located, which was confirmed by a nearby government ship. Six days after the island was destroyed, as consequence of the Mother Flame's use, a global earthquake occurred across the world and the sea level rose by one meter, causing a majority of islands to have their shores swallowed by the rising tide and some being fully submerged.[19]
Despite the World Government's effort to erase the island from existence, Dr. Vegapunk exposed the truth to the world during his postmortem broadcast, explaining how the Mother Flame was used to power an Ancient Weapon that destroyed the island.[20]
Translation and Dub Issues[]
The kingdom's name was romanized as "Lulusia" on Imu's map in Chapter 1060,[21] but was rendered as "Lulucia" on a ship's sail in Chapter 1086.[22]
Trivia[]
- In the magazine release of Chapter 1060, the Lulusia Kingdom is erroneously listed as being situated in the New World when it was previously established to be near Momoiro Island, which is located in Paradise. This was fixed in Volume 105, but the same error was later made in Episode 1089.
- Furthermore, in Chapter 903, Princess Komane is kidnapped on the way to the Levely and rescued by Koby's escort team, situating the journey from Lulusia to Mary Geoise as being on the New World side of the Red Line, a chapter before its location is firmly established in Paradise.
- The crater in the middle of the sea that the Mother Flame reduced the Lulusia Kingdom to is reminiscent of the circular falls surrounding Enies Lobby.
