History[]

Past[]

When they were younger, Anikin and Otogin were extremely poor, nearly starving. In desperation, they became bounty hunters, and began to turn pirates over the Marines. However, as they became more successful, his brother was joined by more suspicious allies, and was slowly turned towards attacking innocent rich people to steal their money, which made Otogin extremely uncomfortable.

One Piece Odyssey[]

Otogin stayed in Nanohana, pretending to be a merchant at the orders of his brother's underlings. Upon seeing the Straw Hat Pirates, he gave them a poisonous mushroom as he was ordered to, and requested that Roronoa Zoro would eat and endorse it to increase business. He then left to inform the other bounty hunters that he had Zoro the mushroom.

When he returned with the mushroom, the other bounty hunters attacked Usopp, who was standing guard over the unconscious Zoro. Otogin watched from the sidelines, and was shocked at Luffy and Usopp easily defeating them. He thanked them for rescuing Zoro and began explaining the situation, but the Straw Hats were pulled out of the Hysteria.

Some time later, Otogin was being scolded by the other bounty hunters for failing to take out the pirates when the three Straw Hats found him again. They easily defeated the bounty hunters again, and Otogin explained his past with his brother. He asked the pirates to beat up his brother and force him to stop robbing people, which the Straw Hats agreed to.

The group went to meet Anikin as he reentered Nanohana, who was outraged as Otogin's seeming betrayal. However, Otogin insisted that he was only doing what was best for his brother, and the Straw Hats defeated Anikin along with his underlings. With his underlings defeated, Anikin admitted that he simply felt he had gone too far to turn back, and Otogin thanked the Straw Hats for their help.
