CP8, more formally known as Cipher Pol Number 8 (サイファーポールナンバーエイト, Saifā Pōru Nanbā Eito^?) is an Intelligence Agency, working under the World Government, being one of the Cipher Pols.

Overview

Although the specific specialty of this faction is unknown, those of CP8 seem to have fairly reliable abilities, where they are assigned tasks of great importance, being only above them those of CP9 and CP0. Like other agents, they are capable of doing undercover, spying, and surveillance missions. In fact, when they were chosen to pose as doctors, they were able to perform the role without anyone suspecting, although they ultimately failed due to carelessness. In addition, Alpha has been seen to be capable of performing at least one of the Rokushiki style martial arts.

History

Past

Three and a half years ago, agents led by Alpha were assigned to pose as doctors in the Sorbet Kingdom to monitor Jewelry Bonney so that Bartholomew Kuma would uphold his agreement with the World Government to not return there until his Pacifista modifications were complete. In addition, they also built a small lodging cabin near the church.

Over the next few months, the agents destroyed all of Kuma's letters to Bonney and gave the girl fake medicine. Six months later, a year after Bonney's treatment, some of them got drunk and unwittingly revealed their identities and mission. Upon learning of this, Bonney decided to escape along with other citizens of the island and although Alpha realized the plan and tried to stop them, she was eventually knocked out by the girl.

Two weeks ago, a CP8 ship was sent to Egghead to investigate the disappearances of the CP5 and CP7 agents, though they were unable to find anything. After departing, York had the Sea Beast Weapons guarding the island destroy their ship, allowing him to imprison them in an unused laboratory where the previously missing agents were being held.

Final Saga

While still locked up and dying of hunger, the prisoner agents were joined by Vegapunk, who had also been captured. Shaka later arrived at the lab, so the agents asked for his help, only for him to be killed by York.

The agents were later freed by the Straw Hat Pirates and were given food. However, they were informed that they would still be confined in the laboratory along with the Seraphim, who were encased in Lilith's seastone-covered bubbles. During the chaos caused by the Five Elders trying to stop Vegapunk's transmission, the Labophase was split in two by Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, causing all of the agents and Seraphim to fall into the Fabiriophase. They were then inhaled by Shepherd Ju Peter, who later expelled them towards the Marine ships, where the Marines secured them.
