The Oykot Kingdom is a country in the East Blue where Bell-mère first met Nami and Nojiko.[3]
History[]
20 years ago, the country was attacked by pirates. Marines sent Bell-mère and her unit to save the kingdom's citizens. After a hard struggle, Bell-mère lost faith in victory and was going to let herself die there. However, Nojiko appeared holding an infant Nami. Bell-mère decided to take the girls to her hometown and adopt them.[2]
Trivia[]
- "Oykot" is "Tokyo" spelled backwards.
- In the live-action series, Nami is seen reading a map labeled "The Sea King of the Great Oykot", and comparing it to the map of the East Blue shown in the series end credits, it seems the book shows the north side of the island, which resembles the shape of a serpentine monster.[4]
