The Torino Kingdom is an island in the South Blue that some call "Treasure Island" (宝島, Takarajima?).[1] It is a relatively small island with a huge tree growing in the middle of it.
At first glance, the island seems savage, and its inhabitants seem primitive. In reality however, the locals have an extensive library and the great tree in the middle of the island is covered in plants that are excellent for making various medicines.
Tony Tony Chopper was sent here by Bartholomew Kuma during the events in the Sabaody Archipelago Arc. He spent two years here in order to train.
Inhabitants[]
The human inhabitants of the Torino Kingdom have so far been shown as overweight people dressed only in grass skirts with knotted black hair, seemingly having the stereotypical caveman intelligence. Some bear an eye tattoo symbol on either of their upper arms and all adults seem wear a simple necklace. Despite this, it has been revealed that they have a vast library of books about different herbs and their medicinal purposes as well as weapons that suggest a mechanical nature. This implies that they have an advanced culture and perhaps a higher intelligence than what was initially presumed. All of them are extremely short, only being about twice as tall as Tony Tony Chopper's hybrid form. The only named inhabitant of the island is Shanba.
History[]
Past[]
The natives of the island were ruled by the gigantic birds known as Masukeredomo Goayu Birds (マスケレドモ・ゴアユー

Chopper was sent flying here by Kuma from the Sabaody Archipelago. Shortly after, the reindeer woke up in a giant bird's nest and in an attempt to avoid being eaten fell to the ground of the island, where he was found by some inhabitants who decided to cook him.[4]
Straw Hat Separation Serial[]
However, Chopper managed to escape from the inhabitants, who began to chase him. Suddenly the birds appeared and began to attack the inhabitants.[5]
Post-War Arc[]
Eventually, Chopper came to good terms with the natives and resolved the conflict between them and the giant birds. After receiving Luffy's secret message, Chopper stayed on the island for the next two years.
Whole Cake Island Saga[]
From the Decks of the World: The 500,000,000 Man Arc[]
After Doflamingo's defeat at Dressrosa, the citizens received Chopper's new wanted poster. They also built a drug store in Chopper's honor, called Tanukichi Drug Store.[6]
Final Saga[]
Egghead Arc[]
When Vegapunk announced he had a message about the truth of the world to reveal via a broadcast, the population of Torino Kingdom listened to the broadcast with one citizen pointing out that the people of Torino Kingdom were talking about where Chopper was right now, Egghead, while Shanba clarified that though Vegapunk is considered the father of modern sciences, many of his accomplishments and innovations were used for weapons.[7]
