North America is a continent located in the western hemisphere. The known wizarding nations that comprised it were Canada, Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, and the United States of America.
Magical community[]
The Canadian cities of Haileybury, Moose Jaw and Stonewall along with the American capital city of Washington and the cities of Boston, Fitchburg, New York, Salem, Savannah and Sweetwater were the known locations that housed the North American wizarding community.
Magical government[]
The only known magical government body on the continent was the Magical Congress of the United States of America, commonly referred to as MACUSA,[1] with the wizard Samuel G. Quahog as its President in 2014.[3] It was established in 1693 in reaction to the Salem Witch Trials and the threat of the Scourers.[1]
Magical education[]
Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, one of the eleven wizarding schools, was located at the highest peak of Mount Greylock in Massachusetts. It took in students from all over the continent.[2]
Magical games and sports[]
- Quidditch reached North America in the early seventeenth century but was slow to be adopted.[4]
- The Haileybury Hammers, the Moose Jaw Meteorites, and the Stonewall Stormers were Canadian Quidditch teams.[4]
- They were among the most accomplished Quidditch teams in the modern day.[4]
- The Fitchburg Finches and the Sweetwater All-Stars were American Quidditch teams.[4]
- The Fitchburg Finches had won the U.S. Quidditch cup seven times.[4]
- United States of America had its own National Quidditch team.[4]
- Canada had its own National Quidditch team.[4]

The Ashwinder, Basilisk, Bundimun, Chizpurfle, Clabbert, Fairy, Flobberworm, Ghoul, Kneazle, Merpeople, Mooncalf, Plimpy, Puffskein, Salamander, Streeler, Werewolf and Winged horse were all found throughout North America, existing worldwide.[5]
