Spain is a country in southwestern Europe. It is bordered by Portugal, Andorra and France. Its capital city is Madrid.
Catalonia, located in Spain, was home to the Catalonian Fireball and also to the National Quidditch team. Its city of Barcelona may also have been notable in the wizarding world, as the Daily Prophet reported on the weather there in its international section.
In 1995, a strike by baggage-handlers of Spain slowed travel.

- Many Spanish witches and wizards attended Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in France, presumably due to a lack of a wizarding school in Spain.[1] Thus, it could be assumed that Spanish wizarding children learn French as a second language during their childhood or that Beauxbatons has a Spanish sub-division as French is not a language traditionally spoken by the Spanish.
