Arizona is a state located in the southwestern United States.[1]
The Thunderbird was endemic to the arid desert regions of Arizona.[2] In 1926, British magizoologist Newt Scamander took Frank, a Thunderbird he rescued from poachers in Egypt, with him on his trip to the United States, promising to return the creature to his native habitat.[2] However, due to events in New York City, where Scamander arrived, Newt released Frank over the city. He did this to take advantage of the Thunderbird's weather related powers to create a rainstorm laced with Swooping Evil venom to erase the memories of the city's No-Maj population of the events. [3]
Frank eventually managed to return to Arizona after being released.[4]
