A delegate from Russia was member of the International Confederation of Wizards, and participated in the meeting held at the Magical Congress of the United States of America on 6 December 1926.

Sometime in the 2010s, the Statute of Secrecy Task Force had to return a hag to Russia that had be trapped by a Confoundable caused by the Calamity.

• Babayaga — She was a Russian hag who regularly ate children for breakfast, and presumably lunch and dinner as well. She lived in a hut that stood on giant chicken legs.

• In discussing the Pentagram Office meeting scene in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, actor Colin Farrell - who portrayed Percival Graves - praised costume designer Colleen Atwood's attention to detail: "There must have been two hundred actors and extras all in the different costumes. Wizards from Hungary, from Mongolia, from Russia, from Thailand, from Ireland, and from Pakistan. It was amazing. They all had culturally relevant garb but with a little wizarding flourish."
