Ethiopia is a country in Africa which was the home of the Quidditch team, Gimbi Giant-Slayers.[1]
Abyssinia was the historical name for the Ethiopian Empire, and presumably the very home of the Abyssinian Shrivelfigs brought to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[2][3]

Ethiopian witches and wizards had the option to attend Uagadou.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
- Though out-of-universe, Abyssinia (1270–1974) was not the politically correct name of Ethiopia when the Herbology classes were taught, though the shrivelfigs may have been brought to Hogwarts many years before.
