Pakistan is a country located in Southern Asia. It is the sixth most populated country in the world. It borders India, Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan and China. The capital city of Pakistan is Islamabad, but its largest city is Karachi.[1]
Wizarding world[]
History[]
A delegate from Pakistan was a member of the International Confederation of Wizards, and participated in the meeting held at the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) on 6 December 1926.[2]
Government[]
Pakistan was administered by its own Ministry of Magic, and was affiliated with the greater wizarding world.[3]
Games and sports[]
Pakistan was said to have a flourishing trade of flying carpets, as the broomstick was a rarity in the East. Due to this, the sport of Quidditch was not as popular here compared to European countries.[3] This is partly due to legal and cultural differences: in Britian, carpets are designated as Muggle Artefacts by the Registry of Proscribed Charmable Objects; they are therefore illegal to enchant and enchanted version cannot be imported.[4]
Food and beverages[]
Qizilbash Quality Confectionary, the company that produced Cauldron Cakes since 1854, was from this country.[5]

Behind the scenes[]
- As modern Pakistan officially came into existence in 1947, Cauldron Cakes may have been made elsewhere by Qizilbash Quality Confectionary before this time, or this may be an example of in-universe elements not aligning with out-of-universe events. If they were manufactured in the same place prior to 1947, it would likely be somewhere in British India, which the area that is now Pakistan was a part of, and the modern packaging has been updated accordingly.
- In discussing the scene of the MACUSA meeting from the film inspired by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in the Pentagram Office, Colin Farrell praised Colleen Atwood's costuming: "There must have been two hundred actors and extras all in the different costumes. Wizards from Hungary, from Mongolia, from Russia, from Thailand, from Ireland, and from Pakistan. It was amazing. They all had culturally relevant garb but with a little wizarding flourish."[2]
