Doctor Royce Hemlock is an Imperial scientist, who appears as the main antagonist in the second and third season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

Background

Once served the Galactic Republic, but his penchant for experimentation eschewed the ideals of that democracy. After the rise of the Empire, he enjoys a new title as head of the Advanced Science Division wielding the power to control secret medical trials in cloning technology at the Mount Tantiss facility on Wayland. Working on secret projects of great interest to the Emperor himself, Hemlock has amassed a veritable army of clone prisoners, unwilling subjects for his invasive procedures.

Personality

Doctor Hemlock displays an ambitious, work-oriented mindset and is eager to begin his service in the Imperial cloning program. He is willing to use intimidation and the threat of torture to get those that oppose the Empire to do his bidding. He speaks in an even tone and is often composed.

• It is never revealed how he and his squad recovered Tech's goggles, which he claims were the only thing they could find as Tech's body was nowhere to be found.
