Star Wars: Starfighter is an upcoming American space opera film directed and co-produced by Shawn Levy. It is scheduled to be released on May 28, 2027.

The film is set to likely take place 6 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, and may include characters from the sequel trilogy.[1]

Production[]
On November 8, 2022, Deadline reported that Shawn Levy had been hired to direct a Star Wars film, after he completed work on the Marvel Studios film Deadpool & Wolverine, and the final season of Stranger Things.[3]
On January 21, 2025, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Ryan Gosling was in talks to join the cast of the film.[4]
2025 Star Wars Celebration in Japan, the film's title was announced as Star Wars: Starfighter, with Gosling confirmed to star, and that it would be released on May 28, 2027.[5] Filming is scheduled to begin in late 2025 in London.[6]
