Skeletons (スケルトン) are the reanimated bones of the dead.

Appearance

Skeletons look like the bony remains of dead people that they are, and sometimes equipped in whatever gear the deceased possessed in life.

Overview

Skeletons are raised when there are enough unholy magic to let corpses decayed to the bone to walk again, such as summoned by necromancy or because of the dead's regrets in life. Most are mindless monsters that wander around attacking living beings or doing the bidding of their summoner, but they inherently seek salvation and thus are attracted by holy auras. As they are undead, they can be destroyed by divine power.

Variations

• Skeleton Knight (スケルトンナイト): Skeletons raised from the bones of fallen knights still possessing weapons and armour.
• Skeleton Magica (スケルトンマギカ): Skeletons raised from the bones of fallen mages that can still use some of their spells in life.
• Skeleton Hero (スケルトンヒーロー): Skeletons raised from the bones of fallen heroes that still have some of their prowess in life.

• A common method of determining whether a rotting corpse raised into a low-level undead should be categorised as a Skeleton or a Zombie, is by checking how much of its bones are visible, with those exhibiting 50% or more classified as Skeletons.
