Richard Law was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. He joined the court in 1789 after an appointment from President George Washington. At the time of his appointment, he was the Chief Judge of the Connecticut Superior Court in New London. He was also a delegate to the Continental Congress.He served until his death on January 26, 1806.[1]

Judicial career

District of Connecticut

Law was nominated by President George Washington on September 24, 1789 to a new seat authorized by 1 Stat. 73. He was confirmed by the Senate on September 26, 1789, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on January 26, 1806.[1] Law was succeeded in this position by Pierpont Edwards.
