"My Mischievous Son" is the sixteenth episode of the second season of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. It premiered on July 24, 2017.

Synopsis[]

Mr. Wright (Penn Zero) must make sure that dinner with the boss goes well in a Sitcom World and make sure that his mischievous son Max (Rippen) doesn't play any prank jokes.

Plot[]

The episode starts at The Odyssey, where Phyllis tells the heroes that they will get zapped by a "live studio Phyllis" before she proceeds to laugh, joined by robotic heads of herself. Penn asks her why is she laughing before they get zapped in.

An intro montage shows the house the heroes zap in before Mrs. Wright, the house's mom gets introduced first. Then, Boone, zapped as Wally, is introduced covered in clothes, Sashi, zapped as Molly, is then introduced. Penn, zapped as Mr. Wright, notices he is bald during his introduction before, lastly, Rippen, being Mr. Wright's son called Max, appears from a cabinet and cuts his tie with a knife. Penn and Rippen then appear at the end of the intro where the show's name, My Mischievous Son, is shown.

An off-screen voice tells about the show being recorded on a live studio audience as the audience cheer. Penn, entering into the scene, wonders where the laugh comes from. Boone tells him that's a good question as he laughs and snorts, leading the audience to laugh. Boone realizes he has a signature snort and laughs and snorts again. Sashi, talking on the phone, stands off the couch and goes to another room. Penn tells the unseen audience that their laugh is getting annoying, so they boo at him. Sashi comes back and checks her specs; Mr. Flannigan, Mr. Wright's boss, is coming tonight to have dinner with them, giving Penn a promotion when the dinner night goes well. However, if the dinner night gets ruined by the mischievous son's pranks, Penn will get sent to Antarctica. Penn tells they defeated Rippen when he was leading an army of viking trolls, so he gets confident they will defeat him since he zapped as a child.

Penn lifts the sofa to vacuum below, not noticing that Rippen is attached to the sofa's bottom. Rippen drops some knucklebones at the floor so the vacuum sucks them up, causing the vacuum to malfunction, so Penn tosses the vacuum out of the house before it explodes. Rippen tells Penn that he can't stop him from ruining the dinner night since he is a child and was "literally born evil" in this house. Penn tells his friends to get him, so Sashi goes to get him first, but Rippen dodges her, but he then gets shortly captured by Penn, who plans to put him into a sewer outside until dinner is done.

However, Mrs. Wright appears, descending from the stairs. Penn tells her they were wrestling with the son because he was evil, leading him getting booed by the audience again. Sashi threatens the unseen audience that she will find them and hurt them if they keep shouting at them. Mrs. Wright watches confused at her, so she takes out her phone to keep being in character. Rippen tells Mrs. Wright that Penn will out him in the sewer, leading her to look at Penn concerned. Rippen then chuckles evilly, annoying Penn. Mrs. Wright tells Rippen she is going to make him an ice cream in sunday before she tells Penn and his friends to clean the place before Mr. Flannigan comes. Sashi receives a call on her phone, being told that a certain Randon got together with Jamie, leading the audience to gasp, so she angrily tosses the phone at the audience, leading them to scream. Larry appears, zapped as Norris, to introduce himself as "everyone's favorite neighbor". Penn tells him they didn't called him, so Larry tells to not mind him as he goes to the kitchen to get some dairy products.

Outside the house, Penn goes to swim into a pool, but Rippen drops piranhas into the pool. The scene is revealed to be a recording on a TV, recorded using a 80's camera, so Mrs. Wright sees the son's actions. However, Mrs. Wright, baking cookies, tells him she isn't moving to Antarctica, so she tells him to pick a colder place. So, Penn brings her a paper for a military school as he tells her to sign her signature, so they can go to the military school, but she tears the paper apart. She then tells them that the son is a good, young boy and that he doesn't need military school, but instead getting loved by them. Penn tries to continue talking her about the military school, but Mrs. Wright covers his mouth with a cookie. She then tells him to take Sashi and Boone to the story while she and the son will get dinner ready. She then kisses Penn, leading him to blush.

In a montage, Mrs. Wright places a turket into an oven and kisses Rippen before going away. So, Rippen goes to the oven and sets the tempearture high to burn the turkey more. Then, while dancing with Mrs. Wright, he places a whoopee cushion at a chair and fills a condiment with hot sauce. At the kitchen, Rippen fills a cream container with toothpaste so Mrs. Wright, oblivious, coats the cake with it. At Max's bedroom, Mrs. Wright tells Rippen to close his eye so she can give him a surprise, but Rippen refuses, so she covers his eyes with her hand before shortly uncovering them, letting him see a pin saying "My Little Angel" on his shirt. She then tells him the next time he feels the urge to be bad, he looks at the badger as a reminder that she loves him. She then hugs him, with Rippen trying to get off, but then starts liking the hug.

At night, Penn adjusts Rippen's bowtie as he tells him he will plant a dime on his "tears of failure" and chuckles, so Penn tells him he is going down and calls him brat. Penn tells the gang to smile before he opens the door to introduce Mr. Flannigan, but Larry, carrying milk bottles, appears instead, so Rippen tells Penn he invited Larry for dinner. Larry gives Penn a fake hand and makes a pun about "needing a hand" in the kitchen. Penn tosses the fake hand out, but ends up accidentally hitting Mr. Flannigan on his way to the house.

Flannigan asks Penn about the hand, so he gestures Sashi and Boone that it was dropped to him by either a bird, said by Sashi, or a flying sandwhich, said by Boone, leading the audience to laugh as Penn gets awkward. Flannigan throws the hand out, hitting an unseen vehicle as crashes and a scream are heard. Mr. Flannigan apologizes for overreacting, as he feels under pressure since he had to choose which employee to either promote or send to Antarctica. Rippen comes to him and politely asks to give him the coat, so he gives him his blue coat. He then goes to Penn and Mrs. Wright, so Rippen, seeing him distracted, tosses his jacket at the fireplace, burning it and shocking Sashi and Boone.

At the dining room, Flannigan tells them that he smells something delicious, so Boone lies him saying that is not his coat burning and laughs, snorting. Starting the dinner, Penn tells Flannigan it is a honor to have him eat dinner with them as he sits, squashing the whoopee cushion and generating a fart sound. Penn apologizes Flannigan for the sound, but he tells him he has hearing aids and that he didn't hear anything for the past 50 seconds, annoying Rippen. Penn then eats the dinner, but starts feeling his mouth spicy due to Rippen pouring hot sauce into the condiment. Flannigan tries to eat, but Penn slaps his fork away to prevent him from eating the spicy food, and then he goes to the kitchen to drink milk, ending his spicy sensation. However, the oven starts producing smoke, so he opens the oven, seeing the turkey all burned. So, Penn goes to a turkey store, but gets closed just before Penn enters it, so he goes to a taco store to buy a bunch of tacos so he can use the taco's meat to make a turkey replica. Penn then delivers the "turkey" to the table, feeling annoyed when he sees Larry took his seat.

After eating the dinner, Flannigan tells Penn he thought turkeys couldn't taste like taco meat, not knowing the "turkey" was taco meat. Mrs. Wright brings him the cake as he tells Penn he has been promoted before he eats the cake, spitting it back shortly after due to Rippen adding toothpaste in it. Rippen then detonates the cake using a button, splattering toothpaste and cake bits at the gang. Flannigan cleans himself with a kerchief before telling Penn he is getting sent to Antarctica, much to Rippen's excitement. However, Mrs. Wright tells Penn it was her fault for ruining the dinner night as she cries. So, Rippen stands on the table to tell Flannigan he is sorry for putting toothpaste in the cake, saying he, outside being Max, was never loved by his mother and that him getting a brief glimpse of unconditional love decades later made him feel bad for ruining the night. He then compliments Mrs. Wright, calling her a wonderful person, and tells Flannigan to forgive him. Flannigan, listening to Rippen's apology, changes his mind and promotes Penn, much to Rippen's dismay as he didn't intended for him to promote Penn. He then gets hugged by Mrs. Wright for his apology and kisses him, making him blush. Sashi receives a call from her phone, being told that a certain Amy wants to ask her for a prom, much to Sashi's excitement as she jumps in excitement. The screen then freezes as credits saying "Created by Sam Bush and Jared Levine" appear, ending the episode.
