"The Old Old West" is the third episode of the first season of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. It aired on February 13, 2015.
Synopsis[]
When Penn and his team are zapped into an old west cowboy world where the cowboys ride dinosaurs, the town sheriff joins them on their mission to prove he still has what it takes.
Plot[]
The episodes starts with Penn having a call with his parents with his MUHU, with him asking his parents if this is a perfect time to call since they are fighting monsters in The Most Dangerous World Imaginable. Boone and Sashi join the call as Vonnie accidentally tells a threat to Boone, scaring him as she tells him it was directed to the troll they are attacking. Vonnie tells them to keep going as they are a great team. The parents then say goodbye as Penn closes the call.
At The Odyssey, Penn and his friends are ready to zap as they see a cowboy town on the Multi-Universe Transprojector's portal. Penn and Boone get excited as they find out they are going to a cowboy world before they zap in. After getting zapped, Penn gets puzzled after finding out he is not a sheriff while Boone gets puzzled when he finds out he only has a stethoscope and a bag filled with leeches. Penn then asks Sashi to check the specs, but he doesn't see her. Penn then sees her exiting a building wearing a fancy dress and points out how she looks like a lady with that dress. Sashi angrily tosses her fan at Penn, tripping him as Boone laughs at him before getting hit by the fan as it returns to Sashi in a boomerang fashion. Sashi then uses her specs to tell the mission, but is dristracted by Boone pronouncing the town "Big Butte" as "Big Butt" before Sashi corrects him. Sashi then tells the mission: they have to stop bank-robbers from stealing the lifesavings from the town before they cross the county line and ride off on their dinosaurs. Rippen then appears, destroying the bank, riding a huge red T-Rex, carrying the lifesavings on its mouth. Larry is then seen mounting on the T-Rex's tail.
The heroes then notice other dinosaurs in the town and found they are on a dinosaur cowboy world. They see three dinosaurs and proceed to ride them: Penn riding an allosaur, Sashi riding an habrosaurus and Boone riding a Cow-o-saur (a mix between a triceratops and a cow). However, the dinosaurs the heroes are riding start running around erratically, accidentally causing havoc in the town. A sheriff then captures the heroes with a lasso as they get jailed.
Penn confesses to the sheriff they are the good guys, but the sheriff tells them that good guys don't commit "grand theft dino". The sheriff then introduces himself as Sheriff Scaley Briggs as Penn misspells his name and gets corrected. Penn tells him they are just trying to stop the bank-robbers as a townsman appears at the jail's entrance and tells the sheriff that he is in the wrong, but he angrily shoots a rock at him with his slingshot.
The heroes are seen preparing their dinosaurs as Sheriff Scaley Briggs tells them that he will go with them, but Penn says they are a trio and the sheriff tells them that four people is better than three, with Sashi replying they work alon and calling him an old-timer. The sheriff corrects her spelling as he hears the banjo sound, angering him and hitting the allosaur, accidentally making it mad. The sheriff calms it down with the rattling sounds of his keys.
Rippen and Larry are seen riding their T-Rex to the county line. However, the T-Rex notices a snake on the road and gets scared by it, launching the two villains from its back and hiding behind a rock. The three heroes, along with the sheriff, are seen riding their dinosaurs to the county line as Boone sings a song while playing a banjo. However, the song is interrupted by Sheriff Scaley Briggs sleeping. Sashi suggests using him as either a human shield or food, but Penn tells her that sounds extreme as Sheriff Scaley Briggs rests on him as his teeth drop off from his mouth. Penn pushes him back to the tail, but he gets his slingshot stuck on a cactus, launching him towards Penn and waking up. Penn lands on a lake and gets out before an aquatic dinosaur scares him. Sashi tells him they have to ditch the sheriff or else they won't make it to the county line.
Penn and his friends are about to ditch the sheriff besides a tree but he notices a newspaper of Sheriff Scaley Briggs retiring. The sheriff then tells them he actually got fired and that he used to be a town hero when he was young. He then guides the heroes to Raptor Ridge, where they first have to go to a rock that looks like a lady dinosaur.
Rippen is seen trying to move his T-Rex as Larry starts discussing unrelated things to him. The T-Rex smells and notices the Jerk-O-Saur Jerky candy Larry is eating and follows him. The three are then seen going to Raptor Ridge as they pass beside the lady dinosaur rock. However, the heroes instead go to a tall cliff instead. Sashi says Sheriff Scaley Briggs messed up but Penn, remembering what the sheriff said, realizes that he sent them to the wrong path on purpose.
Rippen is seen going to the county line, using the Jerk-O-Saur Jerky candy to guide the T-Rex, but he is stopped by Sheriff Scaley Briggs, riding the allosaur. Rippen asks who he is and the sheriff says his name in frustration, accidentally hitting the allosaur with his slingshot, launching him away from its back. The sheriff is then surrounded by velociraptors as Rippen goes to the county line, but Penn stops his T-Rex with his lasso However, the T-Rex easily breaks it. Sheriff Scaley Briggs then uses his keys to distract the T-Rex, attracting it and the velociraptors as he tosses the keys to Rippen, guiding the velociraptors to the T-Rex and scaring it.
The heroes help Sheriff Scaley Briggs recover as Sashi apologizes for suggesting about using him as human shield and food. The sheriff then thanks them as Penn tells him he was the one who saved the day as he says the "four people is better than three" quote before they all fist-bump. They all then ride on their dinosaurs back to Big Butte while singing, as Sheriff Scaley Briggs delivers the lifesavings back as the heroes go while singing, ending the episode.
