"Hail Larry" is the nineteenth episode of the first season of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. It premiered on April 27, 2015.

Synopsis[]

When Rippen stays home sick, Larry fills in as part-time villain and becomes a giant overlord of evil.

Plot[]

The episode starts with Larry entering Rippen's room, bringing alphabet soup to his bedroom. Rippen asks him how did he get past the security system, which he tells him he used a glove with his fingerprints printed. Larry feeds Rippen with a spoonful of alphabet soup, with him saying it tastes really good, which Larry tells him the soup was made with love and chicken heads. Larry tells Rippen to have rest, relaxation and rapid eye movement as he lays him down to bed and tries to close his eyes. Rippen gets up and tries to go outside his bedroom, but Larry stops him as Rippen tells him he can only be a full-time villain if he wins.

At The Odyssey, Penn sees Phyllis welding something without her mask seemingly on as he tells her it is not safe to weld without one until Phyllis reveals she is wearing a mask of her own face. Boone, confused, asks her about the mask as she tells them she made welding masks of their own faces and displays them, scaring Boone. Penn asks her how did she made the masks, which she tells him she takes mold of their faces while they are sleeping before she zaps them into the world.

The heroes get zapped in a graveyard as bats fly over Penn and Boone's head, scaring them. Boone wonders where Sashi is as he rests his hands on her lump before the boys notice her, scaring them. Penn, scared, asks her to tell the mission and she does so; an evil overlord was defeated, sealed in an enchanted coffin and buried deep in the crypt and his skeleton minions found his battleaxe and they are going to use it to free the overlord from his coffin. So, the heroes have to destroy the axe before the overlord reaches the surface. The boys look at the darkness inside the crypt and get scared, with Boone asking Penn if he would mind carrying him for the rest of the mission, which Penn replies yes. Boone asks him if he meant that he would carry him or that he would mind before Penn drops him to the floor.

Inside the crypt, the heroes see a long, thin path as a voice tells them to go back, quickly realizing it is Boone's voice. They traverse through the path, encountering two gargoyles who capture Penn, but Sashi knocks them out with her shovel. While traversing, the heroes get surrounded by bugs and they quickly try to knock them off before Boone realizes he has a huge bug on his back, scaring him before Sashi knocks it off and go away, with the huge bug, saddened, looking at the heroes and crying. The heroes are paddling on a boat before a frog leaps at their boat, who then jumpscares them and breathes fire at them.

The heroes see various skeletons in a march, heading towards an entrance. The heroes go to the entrance and see the skeletons carrying the axe as they put the axe in the coffin, freeing the overlord as he does a very loud yawn while green smoke emits, eventually revealing himself to be Larry as he salutes the skeletons. Sashi gets confused at him being the overlord as Penn thinks that, since Rippen got sick, he must be filling in as the villain for him. Larry lifts the axe as he points out how heave the axe is before he drops it and tells the skeletons to know each other, with one of them claiming that he can't be the overlord because of his non-evil behavior. He asks the skeletons their name and favorite color, distracting them, while the heroes sneak in as Penn takes the axe and hides, pointing how easy stealing the axe was. However, when Sashi was about to break the axe with her shovel, Penn sees the skeleton about to attack Larry and tells his friends about it, telling them how a part-time hero always saves anyone in need, even his enemies. Penn then tosses a rock towards Larry's head, catching his attention. Penn tells him that he caught them with the axe and returns it to him. Larry introduces the heroes to the skeletons, with one of them telling another skeleton how the overlord was not someone he expected, but because he captured the heroes, they decided not to pulverize yet. Larry decides to start a game of truth or dare, with Penn daring him to bring his skeletons to the surface, so Larry asks his skeletons to go with him to the surface as the heroes go with him.

While traversing, they find a huge gap between them and the other side. One of the skeletons asks him how can they get past the gap, but Larry doesn't know how, so he decides to go back and order some pizza, angering the skeletons. Penn tickles Larry, causing him to toss his axe, hitting a joint and causing it to fall, crushing a skeleton and tip over towards the other side, creating a bridge in between. Larry and the skeletons cross to the other side as the heroes follow them. On their trip, they find a huge bat that flies above them. Penn asks Boone to distract them, so he can toss a rock at the bat, knocking it unconscious. Larry thinks the bat is tired as one of the skeletons exclaim that he tamed the bat, so the skeleton tries to high-five with Larry, but ends up crumbling his arm apart. Larry and his skeletons sing as they traverse through while Sashi tells Penn they are getting close to the surface and that they need to stop him, but Penn tells her they are going to stop him once he finishes his song.

Back at Rippen's room, he gets a nightmare where he is cleaning Larry's feet, who is sitting in a throne. Larry then says that he is happy knowing this is going to continue forever as the last word "forever" starts echoing on Rippen's head, leading him to wake up, scared, and get out of his bed. Larry and his skeletons reach the stairs to the surface while Penn tells Sashi to go to the left and Boone to go to the right while he goes straight for the axe. As they approach the stairs, Larry's axe generates lightning as he slams its handle against the floor, opening portals where various skeletons are about to come out, capturing the heroes. Larry is going upstairs as his skeletons tell him he was being a fun boss and that they liked his songs, which he thanks them before he laughs, with the laugh becoming more demonic.

At Fish Stick on a Stick, Rippen asks Phil to zap him in and he does so. Larry is right about to exit the crypt, but Rippen zaps as a skeleton and stops him, pushing him back downstairs and stealing his axe. He then proceeds to destroy it, causing the skeletons to disappear and, therefore, freeing the heroes. Larry hugs Rippen with his strong muscles, crushing his bones, as he asks for help. Sashi quotes what Penn previously said about a part-time saving everyone in need, even his enemies, as she asks him if they should save Rippen as they see him fall apart because of Larry, which Penn says "Nah!", ending the episode.
