"It's a Colorful Life" is the twentieth episode of the first season of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. It premiered on June 1, 2015.
Synopsis[]
When Penn and his team are zapped into a color-filled world where the colorful Hues and the gray Drabs are in a feud, they must stop Rippen from destroying the rainbow rocks.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Penn calling his parents with his MUHU, talking about how he and his friends body slammed an eight-foot tall disco ogre. His dad tells him that being a hero means going beyond the mission as he beats a volcano monster, followed by his mom saying making the world Penn is saving a better place as she defeats the volcano monster. The parents then kiss each other, disgusting Penn as he tries to end the call, but Old Man Middleburg stops him, saying he loves the "channel" he is watching.
At The Odyssey, Penn gives Phyllis a bouquet of flowers. as an attempt to make the world better, but, however, she tells him she is allergic to flowers. Boone and Sashi gasp as Sashi presses an "In case of flowers" button, dropping a time bomb out as she picks up and rushes to the flower, throwing the flowers away as she throws the time bomb at them, exploding and destroying the flowers. Penn apologizes, saying he was just trying to be nice, which Boone tells him he had done enough as he carries Phyllis upstairs. Phyllis tells them not to worry, as her internal organ will "repair" in 3 months. Penn is ready to get zapped as his friend angrily look at him, apologizing for what has happened with the flowers before they get zapped.
The heroes get zapped into Huetown, a town populated by colorful beings called Hues, as they get surrounded by the Hues, who introduce their town and then joyfully dance and move around. Sashi closes her ears with small green leaves as Penn asks her to tell the mission and she does so; they have to stop Grayson Drabsquatch from stealing the rainbow rocks and throwing them into the Rainbow Mountain Volcano. Boone sees a tree shaped like someone hearing something and tells the two that the tree is checking them out, which a yellow Hue tells him it is a "Treewee", a tree with a "wee". Boone gets confused before the Treewee absorbs him, sending him sliding down in a colorful place filled with flying fishes and a yellow dinosaur before he returns back to where he was, saying it was fun. Penn asks the yellow Hue why are they fighting against the Drabs, which he tells him that the Hues are very colorful while the Drabs are monochromatic, which makes them unattractive to the Hues.
Rippen, being Grayson Drabsquatch, is watching the rainbow rocks using a telescope, as he tries to say a rhyme with "rocks", but Larry interrupts his rhyme by rhyming with "fox", angering Rippen, who breaks his telescope in anger. Rippen tells Larry he doesn't know how to take care of a fox, asking him what does a fox eat, which Larry replies with potatoes. Rippen tells Larry that is wrong as he asks him to get rid of the fox, but he insists on keeping the fox as he starts to cry, so Rippen tells him that he can keep the fox, so Larry goes away while riding the fox. Rippen then tells a Drab to initiate the Rock Marker, so the Drab tries to do a rhyme, but Rippen stops her, saying he doesn't do rhymes. However, the Drabs all proceed to joyfully dance between each other, so Rippen initiates the Rock Marker himself, shooting a missile towards where the rainbow rocks are, causing the rocks to go flying towards various places faraway from Huetown.
The Hues get scared as Penn tries to get their attention by calling them, telling them they have to bring the rainbow rocks back as a Hue appears and tells him the rocks hold the colors of the world, pointing to a sign at the rainbow rocks' altars saying "The Rocks Hold The World's Colors". The Hues bring the heroes to the Zippy Zapline, where they all zip down. While zipping down, Penn finds the green rainbow rock below, so the yellow Hue above him cuts the zipline, causing the heroes to fall down, with Sashi falling down inside a tree while Penn and Boone fall into a pile of leaves.
Penn sees the green rainbow rock, but they see Rippen and the Drabs approaching it, so they approach it, but the yellow Hue goes in their way and distract them, so Penn knocks him out of their way. Rippen exclaims that the green rainbow rock is his, but the Drabs decide to have a "snacky time" to celebrate, distracting themselves from their mission. Penn tries to take advantage of the Drabs getting distracted, but he sees his friends and the Hues doing a "snacky time" too, so he tries to take the rock himself, but Rippen takes it as the Rock Marker sucks up the rock, putting it inside the box. The forest loses its green color, becoming gray as Rippen goes away in his Rock Marker while the Drabs follow him. Penn stands on the refectory table the Hues are having a "snacky time" with and tells them to stop competing because, if they don't get the rainbow rocks back, their colors will disappear. The yellow Hue says Penn is right and that the Hues will miss green and that their world is more plain, but they can still dance and shout as they all dance in joy while Sashi inserts her head inside a roasted chicken.
In a montage, the heroes and the Hues find the orange rainbow rock, but they see the Drabs making a topiary of a dog, so the Hues decide to make their own topiary of a rabbit. The two topiaries fight as Penn tries to get the rock, but the rabbit topiary grabs him with its mout as Rippen takes the rock with him. Next, the heroes find the red rainbow rock as Penn goes to get it, but the Hues and Drabs all fence against each other, distracting Penn from getting the red rainbow rock as Rippen gets it. Next, the heroes and the Hues are riding on a boat as they approach the blue rainbow rock, but the Hues and Drabs start doing synchronized swimming, lifting the boat the heroes are riding on as Rippen takes the rock with his mouth.
Already collected the yellow rainbow rock, Rippen sees the last purple rainbow rock and approaches it, but he is stopped by the heroes, who are all covered in feathers after they crashed after some pillows. Rippen tells them that things have gotten his way since Larry went away riding his fox and that they interefered with them slightly more than him. Penn tries to stop him, but one of the Hues throws the purple rainbow rock towards the Rock Marker, absorbing it, much to Penn's dismay. Rippen tells them he is going to the volcano as the Drabs say that, once there, they will practice moving sideways like crabs as they all move like crabs. Rippen says how he hates the Drabs as they are as bad as the Hues, so he ditches them and goes away from them in his Rock Marker, destroying a bridge with the Rock Marker's missile so they can't cross. Sashi thinks Rippen is right about ditching the Drabs, saying they should ditch the Hues since they don't seem to care for the rainbow rocks and care for competing instead. Penn tells her she made a valid, but harsh point, so he tells the Hues and the Drabs that, since they all lack color, they look and act exactly the same to one another. So, he asks the Hues to raise their hands to know which one is a Hue, but none of them do so. Penn asks them why they are fighting at all as he tells them they would have more fun if they were friends with each other, so the Hues and the Drabs decide to change their views on each other. Penn tells the Hues and the Drabs to work together so they can bring back the rainbow rocks.
Rippen is on the volcano, about to drop the box containing the rainbows rocks to the volcano, but he is stopped by the heroes. Rippen tells them they will not stop him on their own, but various Hues and Drabs appear ejecting from the trees, surrounding him. Rippen wonders how they will stop him before he gets attacked by two of them, dropping the box into the volcano. Rippen exclaims that he won as Penn jumps to the volcano to grab the box to save the rainbow rocks. Penn and the box are about to fall into the lava, but, thankfully, a chain of Hues and Drabs grab him and bring him to the top. When they open the box, it turns out the rocks are actually eggs as the birds inside hatch and fly up to the sky, flying to various parts of the world and restoring their colors.
Rippen is strolling down the volcano as he encounters Larry, who is crying after his fox went away after it saw a rabbit, thinking it abandoned him and hugs Rippen while crying as Rippen tells him to come back to Middleburg. Larry asks him if he can bring the fox with him, which Rippen tells him no, making him cry even more and ending the episode.

- Color World has many references to the books by Dr. Seuss.
- The conflict between the Hues and the Drabs is very similar to the Sneetches (divided into two types, as one group is comprised of those who have stars on their bellies, and the other group is comprised of those who don't) of the Dr. Seuss story of the same name from the book The Sneetches and Other Stories, and one of the three segments of the DePatie-Freeling Cartoon Dr. Seuss on the Loose.
- It is revealed that Phyllis is very allergic to flowers.
- Brock Zero and Vonnie Zero kiss in this episode. The next time is in "The Most Dangerous World Imaginable", because in that episode, it is their anniversary.
