"Rip-Penn" is the twenty-eighth episode of the first season of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. It premiered on July 20, 2015.
Synopsis[]
Penn accidentally drinks a potion that turns him into a Rippen-monster, whenever he loses his temper.
Plot[]
The episode starts at The Odyssey, where Phyllis and the heroes are having a court-like meeting. Boone is talking a Boone-shaped cake for his birthday while Penn gets impatient in the session, so he asks Phyllis to zap them in, but she tells him to be quiet and allow Boone to continue. Penn, desperate, says he wants go to the mission, which Phyllis tells him staff meetings improve "workplace atmospheres". So, before Penn shares an idea to improve the workplace atmosphere, Phyllis announces that time's up as she zaps them in.
The heroes get zapped in Victorian London, in a building at night. Inside the building, Penn drinks from a test tube, enjoying the taste until Sashi tells him that it is poison, scaring Penn as he spits out the liquid. Sashi then tells the mission; Penn is a doctor who tested a potion on himself, but something went wrong with the potion. So, they must get the cure before midnight or else Penn will never recover. Penn, desperate, asks her what will he recover from as Boone, being a maid, asks the two where is the bathroom, which Penn tells him to focus on what will happen if he doesn't get cured at midnight.
They then hear noises coming from above, which turns out to be Principal Larry falling through the chimney, ejecting from it and landing on the table. Larry tells the heroes that Rippen is missing, which Penn tells him, in a desperate tone, they have to get a cure before midnight or otherwise he will never recover. Penn gets so impatient that he turns into Rippen, being the inner monster. Larry gives Rippen a princess outfit, telling him it was the only outfit he found that could fit, as Rippen asks Larry why is he carrying a parasol, which Larry tells him it is darling. Larry then tells Rippen that Penn turns into monster Rippen when he gets impatient, so Rippen says that impatience is Penn's greatest weakness, but Boone tells him that his weakness is that he is afraid of sockpuppets. Larry then tells that if Penn doesn't get the cure at midnight, he will stay as monster Rippen forever and that their mission is to make more potions to turn the populace into monsters like monster Rippen, which Sashi tells them that isn't gonna happen. Rippen teasingly asks her if she thinks she is going to stop him as he laughs, causing him to transform back into Penn. Penn tells Sashi and Boone that he could hear everything when he was monster Rippen, so he tells the two to go find the cure without him, so Penn doesn't jeopardize the mission with his inner monster Rippen.
Outside the building, Sashi calls a carriage as she and Boone mount in it. Sashi points out they are missing only one ingredient of the cure, which is a flower whose scientific name gets mispronounced by Sashi. A man behind the two tells them that the only specimen of that flower is at the Royal British Greenhouse Museum, so they go to that place.
Inside the building, Penn and Larry are having a conversation about how the antique table inside is technically a brand new one since this takes place in Victorian London, but Larry then sees a lamp and gets impressed, calling it antique in the process, leading Penn to get impatient, so he squeezes a lemon to relieve his stress, ejecting its pulp. Penn then tosses the squeezed lemon to a pile of already-squeezed lemons as he continues his conversation with Larry, telling him a tip where a story always has a beginning, middle and an end, so he tells Larry to get to the point of his story, but Larry fails to do so, leading Penn to become impatient, transforming him into monster Rippen, who tells him trying Penn's patience was a stroke of genius.
At the Royal British Greenhouse Museum, Sashi and Boone are hiding in the bushes as they see the museum's "security cameras", who are tophat-wearing monkeys who draw everything they see in the museum and send the drawings to the officer inside. Sashi sees a bunch of bananas above her, so she tosses one of the to lure the monkeys outside, allowing the two to go inside. The two find the flower and they take it, but they quickly see a monkey drawing them, who then sends the drawing to the officer. The officer, seeing the two in the drawing, plays the alarm as Sashi and Boone exit the museum with the flower and travel back at the building.
Inside the building, Sashi and Boone see Penn turned into monster Rippen as he tells them he and Larry are making a potion to turn the populace into monsters, but he is quickly tickled by Boone, causing him to laugh and turn into Penn. Penn tells the two to hurry up as Larry starts telling a story again, so Sashi tells Boone to bring him away so they can concentrate. In a montage, Penn and Sashi are preparing the potion, with Penn getting impatient and turning into monster Rippen in each scene, so Sashi makes him laugh to turn him back into Penn. After the montage, Sashi pours the potion in boiling water, telling Penn they have to wait for the potion to boil. Penn starts to get impatient as Sashi tells him to contain his stress, but, however, he doesn't contain it, causing him to turn into monster Rippen. Rippen gets a call from Penn's parents via the MUHU, so he answers the call, telling them he is about to eradicate Penn. Vonnie asks Rippen what did he do to Penn, which Sashi tells her Penn turns into Rippen whenever he gets impatient, followed with Boone telling that he turns back to Penn when he laughs. The parents tell Penn that calming down is an essential part of being hero as Penn is about to return to his sense while transformed as monster Rippen, but Rippens stops Penn from doing so. The parents cry at the loss of their son and so does Sashi, Boone and Larry, leading Rippen to laugh, turning into Penn. Sashi and Boone ask Penn to hurry, so he drinks the cure right as he, Sashi and Boone zap back to their world. Penn tells the two he has been calmed, but, however, Phyllis announces they will continue the court meeting, angering Penn and ending the episode.
