Minotaur[1] is a character from the Disney animated series, Gargoyles.
Background[]
Minotaur closely resembles his son Taurus who succeeded his father as the Chief of Security in the island of New Olympus. During his lifetime, Proteus killed him, causing Taurus to lose his father at the hands of Proteus. Following his father's death, Taurus became the new Chief of Security of New Olympus and took his father's position in protecting New Olympus before the Manhattan Clan arrived at the island in 1996.
Role in the series[]
In "The New Olympians", Minotaur appears as an illusion where Taurus passes by him in jail which Taurus' father is later revealed to be Proteus who is masquerading as him in his jail. Proteus, who is in his cell, remembers that he killed Taurus' father while Taurus recaps of Proteus' notorious actions in his plans to escape the island. Later when Taurus fights against Proteus in his cyclops form at the Columnadium, he then shouts "This is for my father!" where he provides justice for his father, successfully defeating Proteus and sending him back to jail.
