"Genesis Undone" is the eighth episode of Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles.

Synopsis

Thailog and his gargoyle clones are dying by slow petrification, due to some kind of fault in their DNA. A sympathetic Manhattan Clan seeks out Dr. Sevarius to help them. Though Sevarius takes DNA samples from the clan to help heal the clones, he ends up using it to bring a new gargoyle to life, which he names Little Anton, after himself. Thailog, having originally made a deal with Sevarius to leave the scientist in peace in exchange for a cure, uses the false serum on Little Anton, petrifying him. Unfortunately, all of the clones petrify, with Sevarius left to mourn his loss while the Manhattan Clan can only hope to restore the clones one day.

Trivia

• It's mentioned that Sevarius has been let go by Xanatos some time ago.
  • Though clearly, Sevarious was given a generous severance pay for his loyal work, given the size of his mansion/lab.
• This marks the first time Sevarius shows any kind of concern or compassion. Since he considered the gargoyle he created to be his son; he even comforted him as he petrified, rather than callously dismiss his pain.
