John Joseph McNaught (1921-1994) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He joined the court in 1979 after a appointment from Jimmy Carter. At the time of his appointment, McNaught was an Associate justice for the Superior Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He retired on February 1, 1991.[1]

President Jimmy Carter nominated McNaught on January 25, 1979, to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629; he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 21, 1979, and received commission on March 23. He retired on February 1, 1991. McNaught was succeeded in this position by Richard Stearns.[1]
