Jack Edward Tanner (1919-2006) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.

Judicial nominations and appointments

Eastern District of Washington

Tanner was nominated to the Eastern District of Washington by President Jimmy Carter on January 20, 1978, to a seat vacated by William Goodwin; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 17, 1978, and received commission on May 19, 1978. He served the Eastern District of Washington until he was assigned to the Western District of Washington on November 8, 1978.

Western District of Washington

Tanner was nominated to the Western District of Washington by President Jimmy Carter on January 20, 1978, to a seat vacated by William Goodwin[1]; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 17, 1978, and received commission on May 19, 1978. He assumed senior status on January 28, 1991. He served the Western District of Washington until his death on January 10, 2006.
