One Piece Party is a comedic manga spin-off of One Piece, written and drawn by Ei Ando. The series ran in the bi-monthly Saikyo Jump magazine from December 2014 to October 2019, with extra chapters releasing on Shonen Jump+ until February 2021.[1] The series has also been licensed for release in France,[2] Germany,[3] Italy,[4] Spain,[5] and Indonesia.[6]

Plot[]

In every chapter, the post-timeskip Straw Hat Pirates meet up with new and old characters and have adventures with them. Unlike the main series, there is no overarching plotline, and every chapter is a self-contained gag story. Characters and elements from throughout the manga and movies may appear or be referenced, but many of the stories are original.

Characters[]

See also the associated category: One Piece Party Characters.

One Piece Party has three original characters, who appear in one chapter each, as detailed below. None of them are considered canonical.

King - Chapter 14
A giant squid who inhabits Natsuyasumi Island. He fought the Straw Hat Pirates during their vacation before he was grilled and eaten.
Super White Bear - Chapter 21
A special model of PX-Z that is larger and stronger than a normal unit. It is actually nine PX-Z units that pilot a suit. It was used by Ain to fight the Straw Hat Pirates and various Marines after turning them into children.
Trip - Chapter 25
The young son of Drip, who genuinely believes that his father is the pirate Sanji. He unexpectedly visits the Thousand Sunny to visit his father during work, and the Straw Hat Pirates pretend that Drip is the cook to avoid disillusioning him.

Minicomics[]

One Piece Party chapters were frequently published alongside short omake minicomics. Further minicomics were later included in the One Piece Party volumes.

Of these minicomics, there are two notable series that contained multiple issues; in addition, minicomics were sometimes used to continue the stories of individual chapters, and the Cootubers minicomic was continued in Bottom-Tier Cootubers.

Omake Manga Corner[]

Omake Manga Corner

Volume 68's Chapter 676, the first Omake Manga Corner.

The Omake Manga Corner (OおまけM漫画Cコーナー, Omake Manga Kōnā?) is the first repeating series of minicomics in One Piece Party. They take the form of parodies of canon manga scenes, recreating part of the scene but changing some aspect as a joke.

Go! The Choppers[]

Go! The Choppers

The first Go! The Choppers comic.

Go! The Choppers (それいけ! チョッパーズ, Sore Ike! Choppāzu?) is the second repeating series of minicomics in One Piece Party. They focus on chibified versions of animal-themed characters. Unlike the Omake Manga Corner, there are only four issues of Go! The Choppers, used as the openers of volumes 3-6.

It is called Go! The Choppers! (それいけ! チョッパーズ!, Sore Ike! Choppāzu!?) in One Piece Party Volume 5.

Publication History[]

One Piece Party was published in every issue of Saikyo Jump over the course of about 6 years. Various chapters came bundled with short minicomics, which were later included in the volume releases.

30 chapters were released over the course of its initial run in Saikyo Jump, while 4 chapters released on Shonen Jump+ after its initial completion.

Due to the anthological format of One Piece Party, the order of chapters is not particularly important. Therefore, and unlike most serialized works, Party chapters were not always published in the same order they were compiled. It was not uncommon for the chapters to be reordered during compilation, with their associated chapter numbers adjusted accordingly. The below table includes both the magazine and volume counts of a given chapter.

For the purposes of this wiki, chapters are generally referred to by their volume number, unless specified otherwise.

To a lesser extent, the same can be said of the minicomics - while commonly included alongside main chapters, they were not always bundled into the same volume.

Further information: List of WSJ Author Comments

Like the main Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, Saikyo Jump also publishes a collection of comments from each issue's contributors alongside the table of contents on the last page. As the May 2016 issue, these are the authors' responses to a specific question, rather than general thoughts. Below is a list of Ei Andō's responses, indexed by issue (and corresponding chapter).

This table uses the magazine's chapter numbers. For information on the difference between the magazine and volume numbers, see Publication History above.
