The chapter opens with Usopp and Chopper introducing the concept of the chapter, explaining that they will be creating a tokusatsu-style superhero story. They incorrectly introduce themselves as Usopp Red (レェッド レェッド, Usoppu Reddo?) and Chopper Blue (チョッパー ブル, Choppā Buru?), and wonder if they will be facing off against Sand Crocodile Man (砂ワニ男, Suna Wani Otoko?), Shadow Bat Man (影コウモリ男, Kage Kōmori Otoko?), or String Flamingo Man (糸フラミンゴ男, Ito Furamingo Otoko?). With their speculation complete, they leave on tanks, starting the story.
Sand Crocodile Man searches for Pluton, terrorizing civilians in the process. He is confronted by the Heroes of Justice (正義のヒーローッ, Seigi no Hīrō?) Straw Hat Pirate Ranger Squadron (海賊戦隊ムギワラレンジャー, Kaizoku Sentai Mugiwara Renjā?), who each introduce themselves: Luffy Red (ルフィ レェッド, Rufi Reddo?), Zoro Green (ゾロ グリン, Zoro Gurin?), Sanji Blue (サンジ ブル, Sanji Buru?), Kizaru Yellow (黄猿 イエロ, Kizaru Iero?), and Senor Pink (セニョール ピンク, Senyōru Pinku?).
Sand Crocodile Man looks at them in confusion, asking how the last two can be heroes. Kizaru Yellow explains that his first thought upon hearing "Yellow" was Kizaru ("Yellow Monkey"), and refers to Sand Crocodile Man as Sengoku. Senor Pink explains the same, that when he heard "Pink" he thought of Senor Pink; after being scolded by Sand Crocodile Man, they both changed into normal hero outfits, donning the names Usopp Yellow (レェッド イエロ, Usoppu Iero?) and Chopper Pink (チョッパー ピンク, Choppā Pinku?).
With the hero outfits resolved, the Straw Hats prepare to attack Sand Crocodile Man once again, but he critizes Luffy Red and Sanji Blue's catchphrases. Sanji Blue makes fun of Zoro Green's catchphrase in response, triggering a wave of infighting from the heroes. While they argued, Sand Crocodile Man left out of frustration, restoring peace to the village.
With their job done, the Straw Hats received a call from Shanks, their Commander-in-Chief. However, after the heroes point out a large red crab, the command center gets distracted, and Shanks dons the persona "Red Crab" Shanks (赤ガニのシャンクス, Aka-gani no Shankusu?). While they're distracted, Zoro Green asks why the command center called them, and Shanks explains that Nami, their information manager, had defected to a villain team. Hearing this, the Straw Hats decide to go get her back, and rush off to the villains' hideout.
Upon reaching it, they are greeted by Robin, Franky, and Brook, the three villains Nami defected to. The Straw Hats demand to see Nami, and when she comes out, they learn she defected due to a simple bribe of treasure; while they yell at her for defecting, Sanji Blue suddenly defects as well, wanting to be on the same team as Nami and Robin. With Sanji gone, Luffy Red gets depressed that they can no longer use the Pirate Docking Robot (パイレーツドッキングロボ, Pairētsu Dokkingu Robo?); hearing him discuss robots, Franky unveils the General Franky, and Luffy Red defects as well. The last three members begin panicking that they're running out of members, when Nami and Robin pull out cotton candy, and Chopper Pink defects too. Down to their last two, Zoro Green asks Usopp Yellow if he will defect to Robin using her Hana Hana no Mi abilities to make him laugh, but Usopp tells him that he's matured over the timeskip and won't fall for the same tricks. However, upon turning around, he sees Robin recreating a kraken and bursts into laughter, defecting as well.
Back in the command center, the Red Hair Pirates discuss new gimmicks to match Shanks' new name, such as adding "snip" to the end of his sentences or only walking horizontally. They receive a call from Zoro Green, who reports that he's the only member of the Straw Hat Pirate Ranger Squadron left. Shanks sends reinforcements, and Zoro Green begins stalling for time until they arrive.
Ten minutes later, the reiforcements arrive: Spector, Gaimon, and the man clapping behind Viola. They introduce themselves, and Luffy asks them various questions. Zoro Green, not trusting in their abilities, asks Spector if they can actually do anything, who responds that he can fight with his chin. At Zoro's distrusting response, Spector covers his chin in Armament Haki and hits him with it, sending Zoro Green flying through two buildings. He explains that he learned Armament Haki over the timeskip, to everyone's shock.
Seeing his allies, compared who he had to fight, Zoro Green defected, fully forming the Straw Hat Pirates. Back in the command center, Shanks panics over the former heroes becoming pirates, but Lucky Roux reminds him that they're also pirates. Shanks simply responds that everything's okay as long as they had a good time.
Back at the Straw Hats, Usopp asks Luffy if he found the chapter to be very random, who just says it's like usual. They throw a party, ending the chapter.
Elsewhere, Law Black (ロー ブラック, Rō Burakku?) gets a call informing him that his help wasn't necessary, as he sits next to it, depressed.
