Short Summary[]
The Straw Hat Pirates receive a map and a key to an island called Kuma, also known as Treasure Island, which supposedly houses the legendary treasure "Fabulous Marvelous". After fighting their way through pirates and Marines to obtain the treasure, they instead find a group of Okama who have been trying to track down Sanji since he left the Kamabakka Kingdom.
Long Summary[]
The chapter opens with Usopp and Chopper introducing the concept of the chapter, explaining that they will search for treasure on a "Treasure Island". However, the segment is hijacked by Nami, who heard them discussing treasure.
The Straw Hat Pirates and Trafalgar Law rest on the Thousand Sunny, trying to come up with countermeasures for Zoro's lack of sense of direction, when a treasure map suddenly falls from the sky. Paired with a key and an Eternal Pose, it advertises a hunt for the Fabulous Marvelous on Kuma, which can be retrieved after finding four keys. Interested, the Straw Hats follow the Eternal Pose, arriving at the island.
As they land, they see a collection of other pirate ships also arriving on the island, all searching for the Fabulous Marvelous as well. The Straw Hats rush onto the island, following their map, and defeat various pirates and animals on their way to the first X. There, they find the first puzzle: a statue of an eagle, protected by giant owls wielding axes, must be oriented the right way. Robin, having heard of the Earthly Branches and associated Zodiac, concludes that it had to be turned to the west, to match the rooster. Noticing the rows of heat and sound sensitive owls protecting the statue, Brook is sent to turn the statue; however, he makes too much noise, and is forced to put the owls to sleep using his music. With the threat gone, all the Straw Hats go to the statue, and turn it to the west, completing the puzzle.
Now in the correct position, the ground around the statue lifts into the air, placing the Straw Hats in a set of ruins. There, they find a lithographic stone, which Robin spills ink onto and uses to add a new marker to their map. However, they have been watched by Crocodile, who notes that the map is indispensible to finding the Fabulous Marvelous. Wanting to avoid fighting him, the Straw Hats prepare to run, but Crocodile reveals that he has one of the four keys. To deal with him quickly, Usopp comes up with a plan, and sends Sanji to attack him; when he gets close, Usopp lifts up a picture of Nami and Robin in the bath, causing Sanji to have a nosebleed and solidifying Crocodile's sand. Unable to properly fight, Crocodile is quickly defeated, and they recover his key.
Moving to the new marker on their map, the Straw Hats find a large temple. There, they meet Cavendish, Orlumbus, Ideo, and their subordinates, who reveal that they also came in search of the Fabulous Marvelous. However, they have been unable to find it, and Robin reads a new puzzle from their map; they need to "shine a light into the right eye of the skull". Franky uses Franky Nipple Light to shine through a neary skull, and the light passes through to the temple, illuminating a door that opens upon being touched. Before they enter the temple, Robin uses another lithographic stone to update the map again, which reveals that the Fabulous Marvelous is hidden inside a labyrinth in the temple.
Suddenly, the pirates are interrupted by Rob Lucci, who reveals that he has one of the keys. Zoro prepares to attack him, but he stopped by Robin, who has her own plan. She holds a large foxtail, which she begins swinging around like a cat rattle; while Lucci initially resists it, he begins to slowly transform into his Beast Form, and is left vulnerable for Zoro to easily defeat him, recovering his key.
As they celebrate, they are again interrupted, this time by a group of Marines led by Tashigi and the Giant Squad. She explains that they've been surrounded, and sends a subordinate to retrieve Smoker and Hina, who are elsewhere on the island. Nami instructs Law to go after the treasure with Luffy while the rest of the Straw Hats hold off the Marines, referring to him as "Tra-o" in the process. Hearing her, the Marines begin calling him "Tra-o" as well, and Law gets annoyed, explaining that his name is "Trafalgar D. Water Law". However, when Luffy tries to say it, he bites his tongue, prompting Sabo (who has suddenly appeared) and the ghost of Ace to scold him. Referring to them as the "D-Boys" (
Making their way through the labyrinth, Law and Luffy find a large treasure chest, the storage place of the Fabulous Marvelous. However, they are approached by Smoker and Hina, who followed them through the labyrinth. Smoker claims the treasure on behalf of the Marines, revealing that he has the fourth key. The two duos charge at each other, and Hina manages to surround Law with her cage, telling Smoker that she's beaten him. Smoker attempts to hit Luffy with his Nanashaku Jitte; however, he finds himself instead holding Kikoku, having been swapped by Law. Now holding the jitte himself, Law cancels Hina's cage with the Seastone within it. He then swaps with Smoker, lining up the two Marines side-by-side for Luffy to charge into; instead, Luffy charges into Law, sending him into the two Marines.
With the Marines defeated, the rest of the Straw Hats make their way into the labyrinth, seeing Luffy and Law in the clear. They go to open the chest, finding a sequence of letters with four keyholes in the middle, and notice letters on each of the keys. They look over the letters - ?-C-L-?-S-J-S-L-?-E-T-? on the chest and D, S, T, and W on the keys - and read the map, which defines the final puzzle as "determine the route that was taken". Studying the letters, Nami suddenly solves the puzzle, and instructs Luffy to insert the keys in the order T-D-W-S. She explains that the orders of the letters indicate the journey taken by the Straw Hats in the Grand Line - Twin Cape, Cactus Island, Little Garden, Drum Island, Sandy Island, Jaya, Skypiea, Long Ring Long Land, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Thriller Bark, and the Sabaody Archipelago. Noting that the puzzle could only be solved by them, Zoro tries to raise the crew's suspicion, but is ignored as Franky uses the General Franky to open the chest.
With the chest open, the Straw Hats are excited to see the Fabulous Marvelous, but instead find a group of okama. They congratulate the pirates on reaching the supposed Fabulous Marvelous, asking if they're not "fabulously marvelously" beautiful, and ask Sanji to pick one of them. He attempts to run using Sky Walk, but they use their own Love Walk, while the Straw Hats simply watch in shock.
With the search for the treasure complete, those who searched for it throw a party, while Sanji continues to be chased by the okama.
