Short Summary[]
Law tries to tell a funny story to the Straw Hat Pirates, though only Luffy finds it funny. Annoyed by this, he challenges Zoro to tell a story, which more of the Straw Hats find funny. This prompts him to challenge the Straw Hats to a series of games.
Long Summary[]
The chapter opens with Usopp and Chopper introducing the concept of the chapter, explaining that the Straw Hats will face off against Law in a series of five challenges.
The Straw Hats and Law sit in the Thousand Sunny's kitchen, having just finished a meal. Law suddenly remembers something funny, so Luffy and Chopper ask him to tell them about it. Some time ago, Bepo wanted to visit a restaurant known for their seaside view, so Law made a reservation. However, when they arrived at the restaurant, they were seated in the back, near a fish tank. Confused, Law asked a waiter about his sea view seats (海の見える席, umi no mieru seki?), discovering that they had been misunderstood as seats where you can see sea urchins (ウニの見える席, uni no mieru seki?), which the restaurant is also known for.
Upon completing his story, Law is shocked to see deadpan reactions from all the Straw Hats. He asks if they found it funny, and when Luffy laughs and agrees, Zoro says he doesn't count because he laughs at anything. Law then challenges Zoro to tell a funnier story, beginning the first challenge: a "funny story" duel between Law and Zoro.
One day, while exploring Kuraigana Island with Perona, Zoro received a Den Den Mushi call from Mihawk, who said he had lost Yoru. He explained that he had searched the castle, and asked the duo to look outside, but they were unable to find it. Upon returning to the castle hours later, they found Mihawk furiously searching, swearing to get revenge on whoever had stolen or hidden it. However, the duo realized it was on his back the whole time, and he simply hadn't realized.
With Zoro's story complete, the Straw Hats find it very funny, and even Law admits that it was a good story. Nami then asks Law what he can do, stating that he can't tell stories, dogs hate him, he can't swim, and he falls asleep as soon as it gets dark. After Chopper tries explaining how to swim to Law, he states that he is a good runner, prompting Sanji to challenge him to a race and beginning the next challenge: a sprint between Law and Sanji.
After establishing that Law isn't allowed to use Shambles, the sprint begins. Sanji immediately tries to distract Law, yelling "Doflamingo" to depress him. While it works at first, Law counters by yelling "Cora", revitalizing himself. After some back and forth of the two names, Law switches tactics, and begins yelling "Okama" to discourage Sanji. The distraction is so powerful that Sanji collapses from shock, but before Law has a chance to win, Nami and Robin cheer for Sanji, powering him up enough that he speeds towards them past the finish line.
Realizing that he's now lost twice, Law considers what else he could challenge them to. He first considers a tambourine competition, but assumes Brook would beat him, then an aloha shirt contest, but assumes he would lose to Franky. Seeing Chopper, he challenges him, beginning the third content: rock paper scissors between them.
The contest begins, with Law getting on one hand and singing a rock paper scissors pirate song as Chopper watches, confused. He's then stopped by Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp, who ask what he's doing. Law explains that he's using the North Blue rules, while they must know the East Blue rules; however, Sanji interrupts him, explaining that he's from the North Blue and has never seen those rules before. Law comes to the realization that the Donquixote Pirates were teasing him when they taught him the rules, and embarrassingly agrees to play using the Straw Hats' normal rules.
With the match properly underway, Law realizes that Chopper's paws can only make the symbol for scissors, and resolves to use rock to win. However, Chopper transforms into Heavy Point, using paper and winning the game. Having lost a third game, Law desperately challenges Usopp to an art contest, having learned from Giolla as a child.
They decide to do a portrait of Bepo, which Usopp completes in five minutes with a nearly photorealistic painting. Law continues painting for the next hour, completing a terrible painting of a human/Mink centaur with wings. After the Straw Hats get over their shock (except Luffy, who thinks it was amazing) and Nami recommends Law see a psychiatrist, Bepo judges the two paintings, depressingly rigging the contest and giving the point to Law.
Law then argues that they are now tied with three points each, which the Straw Hats argue with. However, Law explains that the art contest is worth three points because of how long it took; to the Straw Hats surprise, Luffy agrees, and they move on to a tiebreaker round: a sumo match between Law and Luffy.
As the match begins, Law thinks back to an imaginary sumo lesson with Rosinante. However, he is interrupted by Luffy using Gomu Gomu no Fusen, launching Law out of the ring and marking Luffy as the victor.
Later that night, the Straw Hats throw a party, as Law sits off to the side in the fetal position. Zoro goes over to him and asks if he's alright, and Law explains that he wants to be comforted. Instead, Zoro explains that even though they tease him, the Straw Hats are all thankful to Law, for having helped Luffy during the Summit War of Marineford when they were unable to. After reassurance from the rest of the crew, Law is cheered up, and since it's late, Luffy offers to let him and Bepo spend the night on the Sunny.
When they go to bed, the Straw Hats tease the two Heart Pirates members for wearing heart-themed pajamas and they begin arguing Luffy starts a pillow fight with "Gomu Gomu no Makura Nagetsu" (ゴムゴムの枕投げーッ, Gomu Gomu no Makura Nagē~tsu?, lit. "Rubber Rubber Pillow Throw"). Later, when everyone's sleeping, the Straw Hats having nightmares of Law's drawing, while Law dreams of Corazon.
