Cover Page[]
In the volume, Roronoa Zoro and Sanji stand back-to-back, in front of a gorilla, wolf, and pig.
In the magazine, Nami and Nico Robin stand in front of a diamond-patterned background, wearing idol-like dresses. Behind them, Luffy eats a piece of meat, wearing a similar outfit to the volume illustration.
Short Summary[]
The Straw Hat Pirates recreate the story of Urashima Tarō, though it quickly devolves into the foiling of a kidnapping plot enacted by Hody Jones, who's trying to conquer Fish-Man Island once again by killing Shirahoshi. They save the kingdom, winning the Tamatebako, which they discover houses Smoker.
Long Summary[]
The chapter opens with Usopp and Chopper introducing the concept of the chapter, explaining that they will be recreating the story of Urashima Tarō. Thinking back to it, Chopper worries that somebody will be aged up when they open the Tamatebako, only to turn and find Usopp suddenly turned into an old man.
Five of the Straw Hat Pirates walk alongside the seashore, each introduced as Urashima Tarō, to Chopper's annoyance. They come upon two turtles being harassed by a group of Fish-Men, who intend to sell their shells. Luffy quickly defeats them, and asks the turtle Camie and Pappag if they're alright, though he accidentally calls her Kamemie (カメミー, Kamemī?, lit. "Turtle-mie"). As thanks for saving them, Camie invites them to Ryugu Palace, which they accept. However, they are suddenly joined by Carrot, who challenges Camie to a race and nearly switches the folktale to The Tortoise and the Hare before Luffy stops her.
As they prepare to head to Ryugu Palace, Camie gets a call from Shyarly, who tells them that Shirahoshi has been kidnapped by an unknown suspect. The Straw Hats suspect Sanji of being the culprit, and Zoro calls for police, causing Sanji to be arrested by Franky and Senor Pink. With Sanji behind bars, the Straw Hats travel down to Ryugu Palace. In prison, Sanji sits next to Brook, and cries to his guard that he wanted to see the Mermaid Cafe.
Upon reaching the palace, the Straw Hats are greeted by Hatchan, the Minister of the Left, the Minister of the Right, and King Neptune, who ask for help to recover Shirahoshi. They explain that four members of the New Fish-Man Pirates - Hody Jones, Zeo, Ikaros Much, and Dosun - escaped using Energy Steroids, and were believed to be the culprits behind Shirahoshi's disappearance. As they wonder how they can find the escaped convicts, they are attacked by the three subordinates; Nami sends Luffy to find Shirahoshi while the rest of the crew deals with them, and the Straw Hats split up.
In the Sea Forest, Hody gloats over the successful kidnapping. While Shirahoshi cries for help, Hody explains that he will kill her, and while Neptune sinks into despair, he will take over the Ryugu Kingdom. However, misunderstanding his plan, Shirahoshi admonishes him for planning to kill someone; annoyed, Hody attacks her to get it over with, but he is stopped by Luffy, who found their location using Vander Decken IX's Mato Mato no Mi.
Back in the palace, the Straw Hats fight off Hody's officers. Usopp, Nami, and Carrot attempt to fight Zeo, but are unable to find him due to his invisibility. Carrot activates her Electro to prepare for when they find him; Zeo, who was secretly standing right next to her, is shocked, and collapses to the floor. Meanwhile, Sanji, who has escaped from his cell, fights off Dosun, and Zoro fights Ikaros, both of who are easily defeated. As the palace's officials cheer for their victory, Sanji is arrested again by the two police officers, as he continues to proclaim his innocence.
In the forest, Luffy continues to fight off Hody, easily keeping the upper hand. Annoyed, Hody eats his Energy Steroid Dango, transforming into a monstrous version of himself. Despite this, Luffy is able to easily defeat him, and Hody returns to his old appearance. With Hody defeated, Luffy and Shirahoshi return to Ryugu Palace, where they meet back up with the Straw Hats and Fish-Man Island officials.
As thanks for saving Shirahoshi, King Neptune throws a banquet for the Straw Hats. The next morning, he grants them the Tamatebako, and advises them to open it upon reaching the surface. However, Luffy begins opening it right away, even through Chopper's pleading that the smoke inside will make him rapidly age. As the smoke leaves the box, they instead find Smoker inside, to their surprise. Seeing his angry face, Luffy slowly recloses and ties the box shut, returning it to Neptune, who orders it be placed in the back of the treasure room. With that, they leave the Ryugu Palace.
Back in his cell, Sanji is visited by Marin, sent on behalf of the Mermaid Cafe.
