HorrorSage’s review published on Letterboxd:
Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
When it comes to the Celt vs. the Immortal I don't think would be as lopsided as this.
I mean the chariot scythe? Come on that is basically useless in a one on one fight. The scythe was a formation buster. That club performed way more impressive than I would have thought, the iron bandings helped.
I think there is this idea we get from media where bashing weapons are somehow not dangerous. I mean a sword will create a visceral wound that is hard to downplay in film, but a club can be less so (Though smack someone in the head with an aluminum bat and see how viseral it is). Broken bones and internal hemorrhaging are easier to write off.
But like that will kill you pretty quick.
If you've seen my reveal you'll know I gotta favor the Immortal, after all their masks were modeled after my people (lich) faces. So you know, however the long hair of the celt is pretty cool as well.
Honestly, I think a huge factor is armour (The celts wore none), and ranged. The bow is just better than a sling, now and forever.
The spears are both basically comparable. I mean long pole with pointy end. Surreal to think such a simple and basic design has ruled battlefields for how long? I mean what is a bayonet but a way to turn your rifle into a spear?
